Kendall Wingler.  Tennessee Tech coach Kim Rosamond countered with 6-1 Jr. Anna Jones, 5-8 So. Jada Guinn, 6-3 Sr. Mackenzie Coleman, 5-7 Sr. Jordan Brock, and 5-7 Sr. Kesha Brady.

 

Tennessee Tech raced out to a 23-14 first quarter lead on their way to a 74-58 victory over Eastern Kentucky University.  Tennessee Tech shot 39.1% from the field including six of 26 from the three point line.  The Golden Eagles connected on 18 of 23 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored seven points off 11 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 37.5% from the field including seven of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored nine points off seven Tennessee Tech turnovers.

 

Anna Jones led a balanced Tennessee Tech scoring attack with 17 points including four of five free throws, and five rebounds.  Kesha Brady added 16 points including seven of nine free throws, and eight rebounds.  Mackenzie Coleman recorded 15 points including five of six free throws, eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.  Jordan Brock chipped in with 12 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists.  Jada Guinn recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.

 

Alice Recanati led Eastern Kentucky University with 22 points including five of five free throws, six rebounds, and four assists.  Jayla Johnson added 11 points and six rebounds.  Bria Bass recorded seven points and five rebounds.

The third quarter proved to again be Eastern Kentucky’s Achilles heel as the score was tied 29-29 at halftime but the Colonels were outscored 13-6 in the third quarter as SEMO earned a 61-55 victory.  The score was tied four times and there were three lead changes in the game.  SEMO shot 36.5% from the field including four of 17 from the three point line.  The Redhawks connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 21 EKU turnovers.  EKU shot 41.1% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on five of five free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 15 SEMO turnovers.

 

Tesia Thompson led SEMO with 18 points including five of seven free throws, six rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots, and three steals.  Roshala Scott added 15 points, three rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  Latrese Saine recorded 10 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Terri Smith chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, four assists, and two steals. 

 

Jayla Johnson led EKU with 19 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Kendall Wingler added 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Alice Recanati recorded two points, six rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.

Eastern Kentucky University led 25-23 at halftime but UT Martin outscored the Colonels 42-14 in the second half to earn a 65-39 victory.  Eastern Kentucky only managed 14 in the second half on 23.1% from the field.  There were three ties and two lead changes in this game.  UT Martin shot 39.3% from the field including 10 of 26 from the three point line.  The Skyhawks connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 23 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 26.8% from the field including one of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 UT Martin turnovers.

Eastern Kentucky University rallied from a 10 point deficit in the first half to defeat Eastern Illinois University by the score of 80-69.  The Panthers flawlessly executed their dribble-drive offense and turned over the young EKU guards in the first half to take a 43-35 halftime lead.  The only saving grace for the young Colonel squad was their hot 12 of 22 from the field in the first half.  EKU made some adjustments at halftime and fueled by a career night by Emma Hacker and excellent games by 6-1 So. Anysa Jordan and Bria Bass earned the come-from-behind victory.

 

Eastern Kentucky University shot 53.1% from the field including 10 of 19 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 18 of 22 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, scored 22 points off 13 Eastern Illinois University turnovers, and held a 27-9 advantage in bench scoring.  Eastern Illinois University shot 41% from the field including seven of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on 12 of 12 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 24 EKU turnovers. 

 

Emma Hacker recorded a career night with 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Hacker was seven of seven from the field including six of six from beyond the arc, and two of two free throws, and only committed one foul.  6-1 So. Anysa Jordan added 18 points and four rebounds in only 18 minutes of playing time.  Bria Bass recorded 14 points and nine rebounds.  Alice Recanati came up big after the intermission and added 10 points, five rebounds, and three assists. 

 

Karle Pace led Eastern Illinois University with 21 points including three three point baskets, four assists, and three steals.  Taylor Steele added 16 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and five assists.  Lariah Washington recorded 12 points and seven rebounds.  Kira Arthofer chipped in with eight points, three rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  5-9 So. Briana Mishler added seven points, two rebounds, and two steals.

Eastern Kentucky University coach Samantha Williams started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Bria Bass, 5-11 Fr. Corriana Evans, 6-2 Sr. Jayla Johnson, 5-11 Fr. Kendall Wingler, and 5-9 Fr. Alice Recanati.  Northwestern coach Joe McKeown countered with 5-11 Jr. Sydney Wood, 5-10 Sr. Lindsey Pulliam, 6-0 Jr. Courtney Shaw, 5-8 Sr. Jordan Hamilton 7, and 5-9 Jr. Veronica Burton.

 

Northwestern raced out to a 26-14 first quarter lead and was never threatened in a 79-50 victory over Eastern Kentucky University.  Northwestern scored 40 points off 33 Eastern Kentucky turnovers, recorded 18 steals, and blocked five shots.  Northwestern shot 39.7% from the field including three of 20 from the three point line.  The Wildcats connected on 18 of 29 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and held a 16-7 advantage in second chance points.  Eastern Kentucky shot 38.5% from the field including six of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 14 of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 12 Northwestern turnovers.

 

Veronica Burton led Northwestern with 17 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Lindsey Pulliam added 15 points, five rebounds, and four steals.  Sydney Wood recorded 13 points, four rebounds, and four steals.  Courtney Shaw chipped in with eight points.  Jordan Hamilton added seven points, five rebounds, and three steals.

 

5-10 Fr. Dafne Gianesini led Eastern Kentucky with 14 points including three three point baskets.  Corriana Evans added eight points.  Jayla Johnson recorded six points and four rebounds.  6-3 So. Emma Hacker also scored six points and two blocked shots.
