Beechwood coach Erik Goetz started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Scotty Draud, 6-2 Jr. Cameron Decker, 6-5 So. Mitchell Rylee, 5-10 Sr. Cole Busald, and 6-1 Jr. Will Downton.  Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-5 Fr. Chandler Starks, 6-3 Sr. Hunter Sommerkamp, 6-5 Sr. Neil Green, 6-0 Sr. Grant Disken, and 6-3 Jr. Donovan Stocks.

 

Beechwood raced out to an 18-8 first quarter lead but Covington Catholic outscored the Tigers 26-7 in the second quarter to take a 34-25 halftime lead on their way to a 68-44 victory.  Covington Catholic shot 41.1% from the field including seven of 16 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 15 of 26 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and committed six turnovers.  Beechwood shot 43.6% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Tigers connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and committed eight turnovers.

 

Neil Green led Covington Catholic with 21 points and 18 rebounds.  Grant Disken added 13 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.  Chandler Starks recorded 11 points and eight rebounds.  Donovan Stocks chipped in with 10 points.

 

Will Downton led Beechwood with 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists.  Scotty Draud added seven points.  Cole Busald and Cameron Decker each scored six points and Mitchell Rylee recorded four points and five rebounds.

Neil Green led Covington Catholic with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and two steals.  Chandler Starks added 10 points, six rebounds, and six assists.  Grant Disken chipped in with 10 points, four assists, and three steals.  Donovan Stocks recorded eight points and three rebounds.

Bryan Station outscored Henry Clay 16-9 in the final quarter to earn a 52-46 come-from-behind victory over Henry Clay.  The score was tied seven times and there were 11 lead changes in the game.  Bryan Station shot 28.6% from the field including three of 18 from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on 21 of 26 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 30.4% from the field including one of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 26 Bryan Station turnovers.

 

Natoria Godoy led Bryan Station with 25 points including three three point baskets, eight of nine free throws, seven rebounds, and two steals.  Tania Woodall added 14 points including eight of eight free throws, nine rebounds, three assists, and five steals.  Olea Woodall recorded nine points and 15 rebounds.

Jackson Huff, and 6-1 Sr. Jacob Wilson.  Madison Southern coach Austin Newton countered with 6-1 Sr. Chad Fugate, 6-2 Sr. Jonah Wooten, 6-4 So. Nate Turner, 5-4 Sr. Colby Sebastian, and 5-11 Sr. Hunter Buchanan.

 

Madison Southern came out firing tonight from long range tonight, connecting on 16 three point baskets in a 74-60 over a good Harlan County team.  Madison Southern led 33-27 at halftime but outscored Harlan County 26-14 in the third quarter to decide the game.  Madison Southern shot 51% from the field including 16 of 30 from the three point line.  The Black Bears connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 17 Harlan County turnovers.  Harlan County shot 47.7% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Madison Southern turnovers.

 

Hunter Buchanan led Madison Southern with 24 points on eight three point baskets.  Chad Fugate added 18 points including four three point baskets, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Nate Turner recorded 16 points including two three point baskets and three assists. 

 

Taylor Spurlock led Harlan County with 16 points and six rebounds.  Tyler Cole added 10 points and three rebounds.  Jacob Wilson recorded 10 points, six rebounds, and two assists.  5-10 Jr. Josh Turner chipped in with four points, eight rebounds, and two assists..

Josiah Wallace led Eastern Illinois University with 25 points including three three point baskets, six of seven free throws, six rebounds, and three assists.  6-6 Jr. Marvin Johnson added 16 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots.  6-1 Jr. Kashawn Charles recorded 12 points including three three point baskets.  6-6 Jr. Jordan Skipper-Brown chipped in with 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists.  George Dixon pulled own nine rebounds.
