Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton started the following lineup: 6-7 Fr. Michael Moreno, 6-3 Sr. Ty Taylor, 6-8 So. Tre King, 6-2 Jr. Jacquess Hobbs, and 6-2 So. Jomaru Brown,  SIUE coach Brian Barone countered with 6-7 Jr. Zeke Moore, 6-5 Jr.Mike Adewunmi, 6-7 Fr. Shamar Wright, 5-10 Sr. Tyresse Williford, and 6-7 Sr. Anselm Uzuegbunem.

SIUE outscored Eastern Kentucky University 55-45 in the second half to earn an 83-75 victory over the Colonels.  SIUE shot 47.3% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line.  They connected on 25 of 32 free throws, polled down 48 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 12 Eastern Kentucky University turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 30.9% from the field including seven of 37 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 26 of 36 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 26 SIUE turnovers.  Tre King, Michael Moreno, and Jomaru Brown all fouled out for EKU.

Shamar Wright led SIUE with 20 points including six of seven free throws, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  6-7 Sr. Brandon Jackson added 14 points and seven rebounds.  Anselm Uzuegbunem recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds.  Tyresse Williford added eight points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Jomaru Brown led Eastern Kentucky University with 21 points including three three point baskets, six of six free throws, five rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  Michael Moreno added 18 points including five of six free throws and 11 rebounds.  6-9 Sr. Lachlan Anderson recorded 11 points including six of eight free throws, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Ty Taylor chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, three assists, and two steals.
