Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-6 Fr. Marlon Adams, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone. Tennessee Tech University coach Steve Payne countered with 6-6 Jr. Mason Ramsey, 6-3 Jr. Aleksa Jugovic, 6-8 Jr. Ja’Cardo Hawkins, 6-0 So. Savonte Frazier, and 6-3 Sr. Kajon Mack.
Eastern Kentucky University pulled away in the second half to defeat Tennessee Tech University by a score of 79-66. Eastern Kentucky University shot 45.8% from the field including seven of 23 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 18 of 25 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Tennessee Tech turnovers. Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 21 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. Asante Gist added 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Zach Charles recorded 19 points including nine of 10 free throws, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots. 6-0 Jr. Dillon Avare chipped in with12 points on four three point baskets.
Aleksa Jugovic led Tennessee Tech with 18 points including eight of eight free throws. 6-2 Sr. Hakeem Rogers added 13 points and five rebounds. 6-2 So. Stephaun Adams chipped in with 10 points. Kajon Mack recorded eight points and 10 rebounds. Mason Ramsey added six points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
