Highlands coach Jaime Richey started the following lineup: 5-6 Sr. Lauren Epperson, 5-7 Sr. Emma Little, 5-6 Sr. Taylor Baioni, 5-6 Sr. Jenna Martin, and 5-5 So. Zoie Barth.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-10 Sr. Lindsey Johns, 5-10 Sr. Charity Mack, 6-0 Sr. Mallie Cornett, 5-4 Jr. Bailee Vanover, and 5-7 Sr. Kasi Schneid.

 

Madison Central defeated a short-handed Highlands squad by a score of 66-50.  Highland was missing key players tonight due to injuries and Madison Central took advantage of their size advantage to hold a 28-16 advantage in points in the paint.  Madison Central shot 65.6% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 19 of 28 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored seven points off eight Highlands turnover.  Highlands shot 27.9% from the field including seven of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Bluebirds connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 16 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Bailee Vanover led Madison Central with 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.  Vanover was five of five from the field and seven of eight from the free throw line.  Lindsey Johns also scored 17 points.  Kasi Schneid recorded 10 points and five rebounds.  Charity Mack added 10 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Mallie Cornett recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and five blocked shots.

 

Lauren Epperson led Highlands with 14 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Jenna Martin added 13 points including three three point baskets.  Taylor Baioni and 5-7 So. Hannah Buecker each scored eight points.
