Walton-Verona coach Mark Clinkenbeard started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Brooke Perry, 5-8 Jr. Emma Strunk, 5-11 Jr. Emma Gutman, 5-2 So. Haylee Neeley, and 5-6 Jr. Addisyn Michael.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-0 So. Kenady Tomkins, 5-10 Sr. Maaliya Owens, 6-2 Jr. Malea Williams, 5-5 Sr. Juliette Smith, and 5-5 Jr. Morgan DeFoor.

 

Scott County led 40-35 at halftime but outscored Walton-Verona 36-17 in the third quarter on their way to a 98-69 victory.  Scott County scored 35 points off 22 Walton-Verona turnovers, recorded 19 steals, and six blocked shots.  The Cardinals also held a 51-24 advantage in three point points.  The score was tied four times and there were six lead changes in the game.  Scott County also had a 22-9 advantage in bench points.

 

Scott County shot 46.1% from the field including 17 of 36 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 11 of 15 free throws and pulled down 49 rebounds.  Walton-Verona shot 40.7% from the field including eight of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Bearcats connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.

 

Maaliya Owens led Scott County with 22 points including six three point baskets.  Morgan DeFoor added 20 points including six three point baskets and five rebounds.  Juliette Smith recorded 16 points including two three point baskets, eight assists, and seven steals.  Malea Williams added 11 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocked shots. 5-1 So. Braylee McMath chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets and four rebounds.

 

Brooke Perry led Walton-Verona with 21 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Emma Gutman added 17 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  Emma Strunk recorded 13 points and six rebounds.
