Tennessee Tech coach Steve Payne started the following lineup: 6-9 Sr. Ryan Martin, 6-3 Jr. Shirmane Thomas, 6-9 Sr. Anthony Morse, 6-1 Sr. Torrance Rowe, and 6-3 So. Aleksa Jugovic. Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Sr. Jarelle Reischel, 6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins, 6-9 Fr. Nick Mayo, 6-1 So. Paul Jackson, and 6-2 Jr. Isaac McGlone.
Tennessee Tech defeated Eastern Kentucky University by a score of 89-83. The score was tied four times and there were three lead changes in the game. Jarelle Reischel led Eastern Kentucky with 25 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Javontae Hawkins added 22 points including 11 of 14 free throws and five rebounds. Nick Mayo recorded 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Mayo was seven of nine from the fields including one of one from beyond the arc, and five of five from the free throw line.
