Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Sarah Bridenbaugh started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. LaKeena Parks, 5-8 Sr. Lexus Edwards, 6-2 Jr. Brooke Todd, 5-4 Jr. Shakeema Jackson, and 5-4 Sr. Jordin Fender.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-0 Jr. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 So. Dee Givens, 6-4 So. Ashanti Thomas, 5-6 Jr. Megumi Nagahiro, and 5-6 Jr. Ken’yale Demus.

Lafayette trailed 40-37 after three quarters but rallied for a 53-49 victory over Paul Laurence Dunbar despite being an anemic four of 14 from the free throw line in the second half.  Lafayette held an incredible 20-2 advantage in second effort points.  The score was tied five times and there were eight lead changes in the game.  Lafayette shot 32.3% from the field including  four of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on seven of 20 free throws, pulled down 50 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 28.8% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored four points off nine Lafayette turnovers.

Sarah Cooley led Lafayette with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Dee Givens added 11 points and seven key steals three of them in key game winning situations.  5-9 8th grade Kiara Pankins recorded 11 points and eight rebounds.  Ashanti Thomas game up big with 10 points, 16 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Shakeema Jackson led Dunbar with 18 points including four three point baskets.  Brooke Todd added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Jordin Fender chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.  LaKeena Parks recorded seven points and nine rebounds.
