Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-8 Sr. Nick Trisko, 6-6 Sr. Charles Sweat-Washington, 6-9 Jr. Jackson Davis, 6-2 Jr. Lance Blakely, and 6-4 Sr. Aaron Evans.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 So. Tanner Johnson, 6-3 So. Reese Ryan, 6-9 Sr. Jack Whitman, 5-11 Sr. Dillon Avare, and 6-2 So. Jarrod Griffin.

Lexington Catholic led 46-33 early in the final quarter but had to survive a furious Lafayette rally to earn a 68-64 victory.  Lafayette actually cut the deficit to two points; 66-64 but 5-10 So. Michael Talbott hit two insurance free throws in the closing two seconds to make the final score 68-64.  Lexington Catholic shot 48.1% from the field including nine of 20 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored five points off nine Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 42.6% from the field including eight of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored two points off six Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Tanner Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 24 points including five three point baskets and pulled down five rebounds.  Jack Whitman added 16 points, four rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Reese Ryan chipped in with nine points.

Nick Trisko led Lafayette with 14 points and six rebounds.  Lance Blakely added 13 points including three three point baskets.  6-3 Sr. Tranard Chester only played the second half and scored all 12 of his points in the final quarter.  Jackson Davis recorded 10 points and 15 rebounds.
