Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Patrick Keller, 6-5 Sr. Craig Floyd, 6-9 Jr. Jack Whitman, 5-10 Jr. Dillon Avare, and 5-10 Sr. Bryan Woomer. Tates Creek coach Wayne Breeden countered with 6-4 Jr. Braxton McFarland, 6-2 Sr. Darius Gibson, 6-4 Fr. Jordan Fucci, 5-10 Sr. Brian Tilford, and 6-0 Sr. Dai Quan Epps.
Lexington Catholic shot 66.7% from the field including six of eight from the three point line in the first half to take a 36-23 halftime lead on their way to a 67-45 victory over Tates Creek. Lexington Catholic shot 55.8% from the field including 11 of 18 from the three point line. The Knights connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 46.3% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 16 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Craig Floyd led Lexington Catholic with 19 points including five three point baskets. Jack Whitman added 18 points and 11 rebounds. Dillon Avare chipped in with 14 points including four three point baskets. Bryan Woomer recorded six points and eight assists.
Darius Gibson led Tates Creek with 19 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Jordan Fucci added six points, six rebounds, and three steals.
