Madison Central remains undefeated and defeats the number one team in the state Trinity by a score of 78-77 in a bizarre finish.  Trinity’s Darryl Hicks hit two free throws to give Trinity a 77-73 lead with 11 seconds on the clock.  Madison Central’s Dominique Hawkins connects on two free throws with 5.8 seconds remaining to make the score 77-75.  Trinity’s Darryl Hicks misses two free throws with five seconds remaining and Madison Central’s Hunter Allen ties the game with two free throws with 4 seconds remaining on the clock.  Trinity loses possession of the ball on the inbounds play with .1 seconds on the clock  Trinity is called for a foul on an inbounds play and Quan Taylor hits the last of two attempted free throws to give the Indians a 78-77 victory on an exciting and controversial finish to a great contest.

6-0 Jr. Dominique Hawkins led Madison Central with 33 points.  6-0 Jr. Ken-Jah Bosley added 28 points. 

6-6 Sr. Nathan Dieudonne led Trinity with 21 points.  6-1 Sr. Charles Foster, 6-3 Sr. Troy Saxton, and 6-4 Jr. Darryl Hicks added 14, 10, and 10 points respectively.

Hammons, 6-4 Jr. Jon Ballard, 5-10 Sr. Hunter Conner, and 5-8 Jr. Anthony Gerald.  Lexington Christian Academy coach Tommy Huston countered with 6-3 Jr. Jon Lannertone, 6-2 Jr. Taylor Blair, 6-5 Fr. Matt Rose, 5-8 Jr. Tyler Harville, and 6-1 Sr. Patrick Nickodem.

Lexington Christian Academy trailed 44-36  in the third quarter but rallied to defeat Model 68-65 in overtime.  LCA shot 47.3% from the field including eight of 22 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Model turnovers.  Model shot 35.4% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Patriots connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 18 LCA turnovers.

Patrick Nickodem led LCA with 19 points including three three point baskets.  Tyler Harville added 15 points including three three point baskets.  Jon Lannertone chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds.  6-2 Sr. Travis Branham added 10 points.  Matt Rose pulled down nine rebounds.

A.J. Hammons led Model with 30 points and seven rebounds.  Hunter Conner and 5-11 Jr. Brandon Hill added nine points each.  Anthony Gerald pulled down nine rebounds.

West Jessamine trailed 49-39 in the third quarter but rallied to defeat South Oldham by a score of 76-68.  West Jessamine shot 60% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line.  The Colts connected on 23 of 25 free throws (92%), pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored four points off four South Oldham turnovers.  West Jessamine attempted 33 less shots (73-40) from the field than South Oldham but held a 23-3 advantage in free throw points.  South Oldham shot 38.4% from the field including nine of 35 from beyond the arc.  The Dragons connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 19 West Jessamine turnovers.

Daulton Peters led West Jessamine with 29 points including 13 of 14 free throws and pulled down 11 rebounds.  Chase Fain added 15 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.  Robby Irgang chipped in with 12 points.  Jeff Ziemann recorded 10 points including two three point baskets.

Catie Fletcher led Woodford County with 17 points including three three point baskets.  Chelsey Ford added 14 points.  Jessica Morgan added 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Hannah Morgan chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.

Sacred Heart raced out to a 27-2 first quarter lead in an 88-17 victory over Atherton.  The Scared Heart starters minutes ranged from 10:58 to 14:39 minutes.  Eleven players saw action with all eleven entering the scoring column.  Sacred Heart shot 62.7% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 10 of 11 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 55 points off 43 Atherton turnovers.  Sacred Heart held a 49-3 advantage in bench scoring.  Atherton shot 22.9% from the field including one of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels missed their only free throw, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored five points off 15 Sacred Heart turnovers.

Raven Merriweather led Sacred Heart with 14 points, five assists, and eight steals.  5-10 Jr. Caroline Long also scored 14 points on seven of 10 from the field.  5-7 Jr. Julia Stough added nine points.  5-2 Fr.
