The Duc of Genua made a valiant attempt to repel Agatean forces, and did succeed in denying a mooring to a fleet in No Thingfjord and held off an army in Koom Valley. However, depending on what the Emperor plans in Autumn Secundus, the failure to keep the Vortex Plains could prove disastrous. The Duc did send support to the Klatch army in the Sto Plains, to help them take Lancre from the Barbarians, but an attack from the Ramtops distracted them, causing Brother Jhake's army to spook from the barbarous troops they faced and run back to the cabbages. The preserverance of the camelherders became obvious as a Klatchian legion finally made it successfully into Ephebe, with copious support from other Klatchian soldiers in the area. The force presented was so overwhelming that the Muntabians all ran into the bath-houses and pretended to be philosophers -- so convincingly that none of them made it home again.
Buoyed by the success of Ephebe, Brother Jhake then focussed on taking back his port of Urabewe, chasing the Muntab fleet out to S'Belinde. That province had recently been vacated by a Klatchian army heading for Tezuma, whose occupation force had moved into the Gulf. He was apparently not sanguine about holding Ephebe, for the soldiers aiding the investment stayed on hand in case the Theocrat wished his philosophers back, but his precautions proved unnecessary. The Muntabians in Betrek departed for Ushistan, to be replaced by a Klatchian army from the ever-popular Borogravia, chased out by Genuans from the Vieux Plains. The Duc convoyed an army through the Gulf of Brindisi to Momerathia, seemingly retreating from the Agatean advance. A lone Muntabian fleet hove into view of the Last Continent, taking up stationkeeping in the Rimward Widdershins Ocean.
With Agatean help, Klatch finally managed to boot out the Hublanders from Lancre. The barbarians fled screaming into the woods and haven't been seen since. Empire forces also presided, more intimately, over the demise of the Last Continent's last army, taking Hubwards New Llamedos. There was rumour that the Emperor was considering changing the name of the continent from XXXX to Widdershins Agatea. He maintained his hold on the Vortex Plains -- indeed, he was not challenged by the Duc for it or for the Blade Mountains. The newest Agatean army convoyed to the main continent are skilled sailors, for they convoyed again through the Hubwards Widdershins Ocean to No Thingfjord, making a solid (except for Rammerock Mountains) Agatean line across the widdershins coast.
Backspindlewinter found the Disk with only four remaining of the original G8 nations. Agatea and Klatch gained resources enough for multiple recruitment drives; the Emperor built a brightly-coloured fleet in Bes Pelargic, whose inhabitants are considered a bit unbalanced anyway, and whipped up two new battalions, one in Hung Hung and the other in Sum Dim. All three cadet units seem to be raring to go. Klatch recruited, somehow, elephants in Howondaland and a new troop of the palace guards in Al Khali.
The Duc of Genua, abandoning any pretence of being a naval power, gave his sailors in the Gulf of Brindisi leave to go hear Senor Basilica sing -- when they returned to their ships, they discovered that the fleet had been converted into a massive floating low-income housing project.
Lacking any orders from the Theocrat of Muntab, his home army stationed in Muntab decided to all go home for Hogswatch.
