Air Force Public Affairs a breath of fresh air

My 13-month assignment with Director Air Public Affairs is now a permanent deployment. It's a step back into the work I love best – research, interviewing, writing, and editing.

I write stories for the Royal Canadian Air Force news website, and edit stories submitted for the site. As well, I shoot photos to accompany the articles I write, adapt submitted photos for posting to the site, and research historical photos on both Department of National Defence sites and the Internet.

From time to time, my responsibilities may include writing messages for RCAF and other publications. And I create, populate and upload pages to the Royal Canadian Air Force news website (check us out), and post to the RCAF Intranet site.

In addition, I am beginning to do some designing—albeit in Word, never an enjoyable undertaking—but I have been pleasantly surprised. The design capabilities of whichever Word we are using at the office are more intuitive and flexible. Who'd have thunk it?

All in all, I am very happy to be here!
