FIDELITY

Readings:
Acts 10:34-43
1 Corinthians 5:6-8
Colossians 3: 1-1
John 20: 1-9

The women followers of Jesus were shattered by his death. The men, scattered. "You will all lose faith in me this night," Jesus had said to them after the Last Supper (Matthew 26:31).

But while the tomb was empty of the body, it was filled with the power of God shown by angels and their message: "He is not here! He is risen!"

The women sunk deeper into sadness with "He is not here!" Only when Jesus Himself appeared to them later did they recover from grief and fright and understood that "He is risen!"

When Jesus was dying on the Cross, the women stayed with Him, and their faithfulness was rewarded: They became the first ones to see the risen Lord. They were made bearers of the good news to those who were scattered.

Are we still scattered? Has Jesus' resurrection yet to make a real impact on our lives so that we live only for Him and for His Kingdom?

From Word of God.

One million rosaries to end abortion

MAY 12, 2001
Saturday

9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Eastern
8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Central
7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Mountain
6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Pacific

The Rosaries for Life organization, based in Memphis, Tennessee, asks you to take up your Rosary and pray. It is hoped that during one particular hour, May 12, that one million people will pray the Rosary's Joyful Mysteries for an end to the surgical and non-surgical killing of unborn babies.

Will you pray the rosary for an end to abortion? If your answer is yes, please print, read, fill out and send in the bottom-right portion of the flyer below so that the Rosaries for Life organization can count you as a participant.

You can help promote this event in three ways:
1) Make photcopies of the flyer (preferably at least five) and send it to interested persons.
2) Ask that your parish or one or more other parishes make and distribute copies of the flyer to parishioners.
3) Call interested persons and let them know about this May 12th pro-life prayer event.
