Any child in Ireland can tell you about 1169 - the first Norman landings in Ireland. And it was here in Wexford that they landed. Another date that springs to mind is 1798 - the irish rebellion that took place on Vinegar Hill outside Enniscorthy. And ask any wexford person about Father Murphy and they will sing you the reply.

Bless with being in the sunny south east of Ireland, Wexford is the riveria of Ireland. In the summer scores of Irish families flock to the beaches of Curracloe, Rosslare, Feathard, Duncannon, which of course leaves all the smaller and more beautiful coves for the locals to enjoy.

Like any other county in Ireland, there is much to see in the way of historical landmarks. Take a trip to Ferrycarraig to the heritage center and see replica's of dolmens, mott and baileys and much more. Tour the hook pennisula and you will find great buildings like Dunbrody Abbey, Ballyhack Castle, (where the Knights Templer were said to have occupied), Tintern Abbey, Loftus Hall (immortised in Chris De Burgs song - Spanish Train), and of course the infamous Duncannon Fort towering over the beach.

The Blackstair mountains can be reached from Bunclody and this to is the starting point for the Wicklow Way. So if you looking for some mountain treks this is where you should be. The Blackstair mountains (at Mount Leinster) is also the best place in Ireland to hand glide and each w/e you can see scores of hand gliders (and spotttes) in action as their colourful wings glide from the edge of the hills.

New Ross (gateway to the hook pennisula) an old market town on the border with county Kilkenny now holds the Dunbrody famine ship. This relic displays to us all what it was like travelling to America in the time of the famine. A few miles outside of the town you will find the JK Kennedy park and also the home where John F Kennedy's grandfather was born. And if that is not enough for you, you can start your tour of the hook pennisula from here or if you prefer a more relaxed day, take the Galley (river boat) up the Barrow to Waterford and see a whole different world pass by.
