THe one I think I saw, (yes I'm still unsure) didnt seem very physical. I knew it was there, and it did tingle when it walked through me. So, I know it was there. It was a thing, not a sub-thing (like a shoadow of somone).
It did not, seem to want to hurt me, and I still dont know why nobody else saw this thing.
But let me point out. From what I rememeber, It seemd to be more bulky then what the rest of you are talking about. Not very skinney, but you really cant say fat. Just, bulky. And It had no armour, and no wings. And I dont rememebr seeing any footprints in the snow, but I dont think I actually looked at the snow. But as it walked, it seemd so smooth it almost lookid as if it was levitating. But it wasnt. =/

The more I read here, the more I seem to remember.

you know when GOd banished satan and his followers out of heaven? God forever prevented them from taking human shape. So, this might be the shape that they must take, in order to exist. My theory is that these Shadow Creatures are the fallen angels. THis might be on account of why they don't ever kill humans. ONly dogs and stuff.

Of course, I might be wroing...

YEt would this explane some of the hostile stories? I do find it hard to beleve what I think I saw, lwft gashes on other people. I know it had claws of some sort, but it never wanted to hurt me.

...OR did it? What if it left some part of it within me when it went through me!?

You all should be glad about experiencing things like this. I'm not saying it was a good thing some of your dogs got mutilated, or that some of you got slashed, I'm just saying that you've seen an endangered shadow demon or whatever they are, and should be proud you've experienced something so rare.

I'm VERY skeptical when it comes to ghosts, demons, witchs, and paranormal stuff, but for some reason, I really want to think they exist. I'm not saying they don't, but I like to have proof of that kinda stuff.

I checked my library for info on Shadow Creatures, but all they had in their Paranormal section was stuff about UFOs and Feng-Shui. O_o
As I've said about three times before, are there any links to websites you can give me that'll give me more info on Shadow Creatures? I'm really interested.

Gosh... I have tried to avoid this board room because some of the stuff creeps me out but, I find it hard to resist coming back so heres my short story:

I believe it was this year that it happened. I can't remember the month, but I am sure it was the 1st quarter of this year that it happened.

I woke up at 5AM lying on my stomach and facing my head (north direction of the diagram) I looked at the small piece of hall separtaing my room with the other room and I saw some thing (X on the diagram) or person on its hands and knees peaking through the door (door was open). It was very shadowy. Its head kept moving while its body stayed in place.

This made me freak out to the point that my heart was beating VERY FAST!!! I could atcually hear y heart pumping! Needless to say, I had to try to clam down. It felt like I was gonna get a heart attack. It was VERY BAD.

Now, I must have been awake in my bed motionless. I didn't want to move for the fear of something might happened. So, I just literally got off my bed so quickly and turned the lights on. I then saw nothing any more.

After that, I went to the bathrrom and went back to bed. I woke up at 8AM and I tried to remember what it could have been what I saw. I figured it must have been my imagination. But then I thought for a few seconds and I knew there was something because, why else woud my heart beat so fast and not only that, I felt a huge presense that something was there at 5AM.

After that day, it has never come back and I hope it NEVER DOES!

Ok I'm going to add something. Back when I was about 6 - 8 years old, our house had a big window in the living room. There was this big dead tree that was across the street, in the neighbor's yard, and during the day, you could clearly see nothing in the branches.

But some nights, shortly after the sun would go down, you could clearly see something about 4 feet tall standing with its hand on the big trunk part.

I had no clue what it was. Back then I had never heard of the chupacabra or shadow creatures, I just thought it was some monkey. The way it stood, with its head scrunched over forward, made it look like one. But I knew that in Iowa, there aren't any monkeys in the wild, so I knew that couldn't be it.

To this day, I can still remember looking out and seeing this thing regularly in the tree. Yet, in the day, the tree would be as bare as a stick.

Not really shadow creatures, but creepy nonetheless.

For two years, I lived with a guy who was followed by things. Not always good things, either. However, I am completely not sensitive to the supernatural, nor do I really believe in it. I guess I should say that I didn't believe in it. I'm more inclined to do so now.

Anyway, for two years, glasses would fly around his room and crash into walls and break or they would just slam themselves down so hard on thickly padded carpet they would break.

The kitchen cabinets would open and close themselves when he was in the kitchen. The trashcan lid would flip itself over at it's own will.

We would sit on his bed and watch movies and his sister's cat would run back into his bedroom and stare at me. I thought it was because she hated me. We later decided she was trying to get me out of the room. The only time she would ever go back there was if I was in the room. After he moved out, I moved into the room and the cat was fine going in and out. She would often sleep on my bed.

My car and his car would randomly just not start. For absolutely no reason, then they would start up just fine.

i don't know if i'm powerful, but i have a lot of different ways to deal with various situations. i've always got quick spells that i can use for offense and defense, and if i can ground myself, my protect field.

Sorry I didn't mean to turn this into something like that. I was wondering if you could try to study it somehow. You say it tried to wrap itself around your energy field. It sounds like a real entity, and from my experience and others, it sounds (if this is, indeed, the same thing we're talking about here) almost physical. Or, physical if it wants to be, but then ethereal, or something at other times. All I know is that it seemed physical to me.

almost any spirit can affect the physical world if they have enough juice [mana, aether, whatever you wish to call it]. and a lot of times they get their power from emotion they have/had. these are some strange things, though... i'll ask around and see if any locals know anything about them.

And what all do you know, such as spells and stuff? Defensive spells or offensive. Just curious, because I somewhat believe in that stuff, although I'm not sure if it's real or not...and if you battled it or something, or could take pictures so we have real conclusive evidence.

I'll continue doing research.

as far as offensive attacks, the easiest thing for me to use are simple energy shots. focusing mana into a release point [hands, feet, or eyes for me] and expel it. that works %99 of the times i've ever had a problem with a hostile spirit. if i get physically hurt, i can deaden the nerves in the area to stop feeling pain. that can be learned through any number of meditation methods, BTW. i can also ask my spirit animal, frog, for assistance.

... not that he's done much yet. i think he gets some perverse pleasure seeing me exorcise on my own^_^;

MY PARANORMAL ENCOUNTERS:
It was a few years ago, but when I opened my closet in my room, an orb moved around inside of it. It was really fast and didn't seem to 'ripple' over the objects in my closet(like, for example, a flashlight's light would).
A few years after that, I was brushing my teeth, and I looked in the mirror to see an orb hover for a second and dissapear behind me. About 2 minutes after that, I was walking up the stairs to my room when I saw the orb on the stair wall. It dissapeared as it went behind a shadow that was cast on the wall, how did it do that?
Anyway, that was a few years ago. But an even weirder phenomona happened when I was about five years old.
I was getting out of my mom's car, when my sister's super bouncy ball fell out of the car. I expected it to bounce away, but it slowed down, as if it were in slow motion just as it fell out of the car(My mom saw it slow down too, so I know it wasn't just me who saw it). And my mom says that when I was a baby, I fell off of her bed(she had a tiled floor at the time). But I slowed down, as if in slow motion just before I hit the ground. If I hadn't have slowed down, I would've cracked my head open on the tile. Can someone expain these strange events to me? Thanks for reading! ^_^

Anyways, theres a story on Shadow people on Mistrey Hunters on YTV right now. Some lady has seen things like shadows. I dunno if its what I think I saw. Or what anyone else saw. What she has explaned is she saw one duck behind a bush, in a park during daylight.
She then saw it a few min. later jump from a tree to another tree.
She told her friend and she says that thing has followd her since hes was small. ...I'll put an update on this after the show ends.

The show is filled with crappy effects. But the kid is out in a cemitary looking for shadows. He admints even his shadow looks scary. He doesnt find anything.
HE interviews some lady and her son that saw it. Altho most of the pics I saw were just of things like real shadows, like the kind we make.

But there was one picture of the lady being interviewd when she was a baby, in the arms of her aunt or somthing. Theres a trasparent thing that looks like a person with its arm thrusted towards the ladys aunt in the picture, theres also an arm grabbing the "shadow person" in the picture, pulling her away. But the picture looked fake to me. Like when you take a picture of somone with a long exposure camera, and they move away.

i'm a witch, and i'm a male [though you can't tell on the phone>_< anyways...]. it's just a preferrence, really. although druids are completely different, so i can't comment on them too much. however, becoming a witch is almost the same as joining any other religion. study different books [thought i personally avoid silver ravenwolf] and try to find local witches who can inform you and possibly mentor you. remember, there are very many different sects of pagans. you have to find one you're comfortable with.

it also sounds like you either have a latent ability or a familiar with you, which may make it easier to learn magic. about half the women in my family are witches in one form or another, and i'm one of the only males. i will warn you not to get taken advantage of. there is no ritual that requires a sacrifice of any kind>_<

hmm... i got to thinking: the easiest way to banish/drive off a hostile spirit is to expose it to a strong electric or magnetic field. it MAY work with the shades... if they're fundamentally the same as spirits. however, since they can physically affect our reality, it make take a combination of that and a disruptive metal. iron, maybe... have to research what's worked in the past...

OMG OMG OMG!!!!

I had earlier told a story about a tall shadow creature that had haunted me and my two cousins. Well, it's been about four months since then, and I haven't heard anything from my cousins just untill about 2 weeks ago. I was getting worried and now I am even more worried. These events have been way to much for me.

Okay. Soon after I left, the shadow creature started going crazy in there cabin in the woods. It was slaming doors. Going through the house. (Both my cousins were watching the entire thing happen.) Then for about a minth nothing happened. Until one night they heard this horrible scream, and from the way they described this it sounded like what that other pearson said, two voices at once, a low one and a high one. They had had enough and pulled out their shotguns and went to see what the matter was. They came out into their living room to see their cat butchered up and it's guts were splatered on the walls everywhere. After that the ghost was gone.

Another month later. They finally got over it and life was getting back to normal.

One week ago. (I live inthe baskment of my house.)
I wake up at exactly 2:35. I look at my clock, then my window, then my door way. What I see will haunt the rest of my life. The "thing" is back and it's staring at me. I watch it look at me for about 15 minutes. After what seemed like forever, it floated away. The next morning I get up to find blood all over my hallway and a couple drops of blood where the thing was standeng. But tht wasn't the only thing. The cat's collar was also laying there. Right there!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!

I have a story too...

One night, when my parents were away for the weekend, I woke up and saw a figure that looked like a small human being standing at the door. I reached for the light to see what it was, and all of a sudden, it let out a horrible growl, then screamed. I put the lights on, and nothing was there. I climbed down from my bed (i don't know the english word for it, but it's one of those that are near the ceiling to get extra space), and found my little brother hiding in the corner, under my bed. He had woken up and couldn't sleep. The growl came from my cd-player: I had Opeth's Blackwater Park in there and he had accidentally turned it on. The growl scared my brother, because i tell him that monsters guard my room, thus the scream...

I've never seen a real shadow creature, though.

Shadow Creatures may be your spiritual guardians. They might not be headed toward harming you. you're just scare dof them because they're tall, scary, and they get a kick out of scaring the **** out of you.

About the killing of the cat thing, maybe the cat was making you go to hell or something. THE ANCIENT egyptians belived that cats were the rulers of the underworld. Maybe the shadow creature was trying to save you. Concerning my theory that shadow creatures are angels who got kicked out of heaven, they may not be that BAD becauise they ARE angels.

If you're so scared of them, get a taser. nothikng can avoid electromagnetic shocks

Greetings, all.

I have just met a shadow creature..I agree that they are scary to say the least.

I have no real religion- rather, I believe what I wish. However, I believe, to a degree, in karma- that you reap what you sow.

Before I go to sleep each evening, I sit, cross legged, on my bedroom floor and meditate. sometimes I rise up in the morning having not slept, but having immense energy- so much I do not need to sleep for some 3 days.

Yesterday, when meditating, I rose in the dead of the night. this was not natural at all- I usually arise after 1 to 1 and a half hours meditation.

I could see nothing, but could feel a menacing presence, almost mischievous. It was staring, that much I am sure of, and if gazes wer lasers, I would be fried to a crisp there and then.

I stood and watched the area I sensed this... shade. it was as if my entire room was tainted with evil. I stood up, not yielding.

The creature seemed to take offense to this. it started slowly advancing. However, I was perfectly awake(it seems like my meditation pays off after all) and clasped my fists together and closed my eyes, almost willing the creature back. It really didn't like that, and gave a snarl before withdrawing.

I decided that if such creatures exist (I had been skeptical until then), I should always be wary. I sat back down and kept meditating.

However, when I rose again, this time in the morning, all of my family felt very ill.

Read the entire topic, and am going to try and a make a sort of description of this thing, based on posts. Tell me if I get it wrong.

A dark shadow, when up close, looks like a deep black, like tar. 7-8 feet tall, sometimes wearing spiked armor or having wings. Head/face is long, somewhat like a horse, and near the top/sides of the head, there's darkness that resembles horns or possibly ears. Large claws. No actual physical details. Seems to emit a feeling of evil. Has a screech that seems to be like screams in harmony with each other. Speaks in whispers, barely audible, may possibly be Latin.

Sound about right?

Also I've noticed that the creature has been reported to disappear in direct light, or when confronted.

Ok, I have one, but it's a paranormal story added to a paranormal story.

I was at home one night alone, watching TV, when I heard a loud crash come from downstairs. I grabbed a flashlight and headed downstairs, with my dog running out ahead of me. I checked out our laundry room, our downstairs den, and my brother's room. Nothing had been disturbed in any of them. I did, however, notice that my dog was huddling close to my legs as I walked through the downstairs den. As I said, nothing was disturbed and I headed for the stairs, kind of creeped out. All of a sudden, I heard footsteps upstairs. I ran for the stairs and looked into our kitchen, living room, my room, and my parents room. No one was there. I started to get scared that something was happening, when I heard something that sounded like a gunshot or a very loud firecracker outside. I wasn't about to go outside, so I went in my bedroom and read a book for a while. After about an hour, I sat down in a chair in the living room, staring at the floor, and thinking about what may have caused those noises. I remember thinking that it might have been nothing, and assuring myself that ghosts weren't real. I remember getting very scared for no apparent reason and hearing a small whisper. I looked into my TV (which was off). In the reflection, I saw a man standing in the back doorway. The man looked like he was cloaked from head to toe and a black kind of robe. His face was shrouded in a hood, and I couldn't see his hands or his feet. I turned around very quickly and saw no one. I then went into my bedroom and layed there for the rest of the night, only getting up when my parents came home.


He did not disappear in direct light, for my kitchen light was on at the time and the back doorway is right at the kitchen.

I have an experience with the "Shadow People."

It was some years ago in my teens, I'm thinking maybe 1998 or so. I was living in a neighborhood that was on a small wooded mountain in northeast Tennessee, though not in the woods itself.

My room was a rectangle. In one corner was my bed. At the corner at the end of the wall (the longer wall) was the door. One night I woke up from being asleep. I awoke looking into the corner opposite my bed, where my closet was. Both my closet and room doors were shut, and there was no light other than that of possible moonlight through the curtain, and I could only barely make out the room. In that corner when I woke up was standing what looked like a tall man, in a wide-brimmed hat and long coat. It was darker than the dark, like pure black. I could not move, I wasn't exactly scared, but I was paralyzed.

Suddenly the figure rushed towards me. This is the strangest thing. There was an exercise bike directly between my bed and where it was standing. Also I was/am messy, and if it were walking it would have had to have avoided a lot of clutter. However, this figure "floated" through all of this stuff up to my bedside at a supernatural speed. That's one thing I will never forget, the speed at which it moved.

I looked up at it as it stood over me for a moment, looking back down at me I assume (it didn't have any visible facial features). Then, as quickly as it had moved to my bed, it lifted its hand up and quickly reached at my face. I went unconscious at that point, and woke up in the morning.

Every time I think about the experience at any length, I begin to almost cry. I don't feel sad but an overwhealming urge to cry comes over me. I have never seen the thing since, however.

Also one time while we lived there my mother told me that I had told her about "chanting" I heard outside my window, though I cannot recall ever hearing it or telling her about it.

I've spoken to friends about it, and some have claimed to see them. One, a devout Christian girl that I know, even described the EXACT same one I saw, but it never approached her, and she felt as though it was protecting her.

Another oddity, I used to wake up paralyzed at that place occassionally. Every time it happened I would remember that I would be crying, strugling to move until I was finally able to. None of that stuff has happened since I've moved.

Well, since I happen to be educated in grammar, yes.
