someone please explain this to me.

about two years ago wwhen i was 12 or so (now 14) my friend and i rode our scooters around. we got bored, and decided to go to the canyons/forest area near behind our homes (i live in sandiego california). as we near the street close to the canyon, we notice a hound like creature a good 50 yards infront of us. we slink towards the creature slowly on our scooters ttowards the hound. the creatures face seemed to get angrier and angrier as we came closer. now bear in mind that this hing was HUGE. it was easily about twice the size of a regular cayote, jet black. so black that the fur shone in the sunlight, and reflected silverish lights. a good 30 feet away from it my friend and i stare at it. "look at that dog" i said. " its HUGE" he looked at me funny."thats no dog, thats a cayote he said to me. i was really creeped out at this time. staring into the creatures red devilish eyes sent a chill down my spine. "cayotes are smaller than that" i said to my friend. "ill go touch it". my friend stayed frozen where he was at. i neared the hound, and reched out to touch the nose. the creature erupted, and a violent screech came from it. it jumped into the canyon in lightning speed. that of an 80 MpH fastball.all of us sudden, it became cloudy. afraid, we ran back home. the next day, my friend and i went to investigate the canyons where it jumped in. and we enter the canyon/forest, and we go through this very shadowy path with trees aabove us. we walk in and all of us sudden it dashes infront of us, and we see it hiding to the right behind a bush. the red eyes were visible even behind the dark shadow of the bush. i apprach it a little, and it let out a violent screech, and off it went.

once, i was at my grandma and grandpa's house in iowa, to the north of the state in which i reside. anyway, i was sleeping downstairs, when i woke up, and sensed a presence in the room. i looked around for a while, and saw two bright red orbs of light, they were transfixed on me. i sat and stared at them, and saw they were connected to a large black bump on the floor all i felt was a slight calming feeling despite being scared out of my mind. it then turned around, and went into the kitchen, and back into the room at another entrance, (the room has 2) and kept looking at me, it then tilted it's "head" sideways and blinked, then dissaperated into the air. strange enough, i got up and got a glass of milk without much thought, sat back down, and drank it. Another thing i have to point out is this, supposedly, my grandparents house was built on an old HANGING HILL where they hung criminals.

also, my mum said she was sitting in her room on valentines when she was in high school, she had just got a valentine from her boyfriend (now my dad) with a battery in it. it played a love song when opened. later, she was doing homework, and it kept going off without anyone else in the room, and it was closed. She took the battery out, and it kept on playing music without it. Also, my mum said she was sitting on the top of the steps to the upstairs (she was 12 then) and singing christmas songs. She then saw a figure with a white sheet over it's head and a rope around it's neck floating out of her room, and going into her mum's room. she ran downstairs, and told her dad. suprise suprise, nothing there on second investigation. Also, people were hung with WHITE SHEETS over their heads. like i said earlier, my grandparents house was built on AN OLD HANGING HILL!

These "shadow creatures" are a LOT more harmful than people are revealing. I have a story that scares me and scarred me.Here we go.

During winter break, I went to Pennsylvania and to Gettysburg. I bought a really cool Cavalry Sword that was old and said to have been used by a soldier who was murdered after the Civil War.
Anyways, I read this topic a while back and it scared the crap out of me. So, by instinct, I put the sword next to my bed.
I would later find out that what I did then was a huge mistake. My mom & dad are divorced & my mom lives at the beach. (So I live with me dad, my brother, my dad's girlfriend, and her daughter).
I don't really know why but this lady's daughter sleeps with her bedroom light on, she's old enough to not be afraid of the dark. Anyway, one night I woke up in the middle of the night to take care of a call of nature.
But, standing just in front of my door, (maybe three feet away, yea I know, I live in a small townhouse) was a dark patch. I looked at the crack under the door and saw what were probably two feet in boots. I could tell because the light of this girl's room was on and she sleeps with the door open.
Anyway, I can hear the shadow come closer to me. I feel it's body about half a foot away from my shivering body. Now, the sound of my fan lost some pitch so I knew the shadow was leaning towards me. Now, it's face was close enough for me to make out its features.
Obviously enough, it was the shape of a Union officer. Now I wet myself in fear and shivered. Then, everything blacked out.
The next thing that happened scares the hell out of me to this day. I woke up standing in front of my dad's girlfriend's daughter (wow, long name) with my sword in my hands. The blade was brought so far back that it was practically touching my lower back. The sword came down fast but, I stopped it a few inches from the girl's face. I could do this because I have a katana and train with it often so it wasn't hard to stop the blade.
Well, when this girl woke up and saw me standing there; she screamed until I thought I'd go deaf.
I ran back to my room and put the sword in its sheath, jumped under the covers of my bed and pretended like I was just waking up.
Well, since there was no evidence of me being in this girl's room, I didn't get in trouble. The only thing I ever noticed that nobody else did was a track of boots leading from my room to the bottom of the stairs. From there on it was tiles.

So, the point of the story is that "shadow creatures" are more dangerous than we have anticipated. Hide...

Oh, I forgot to mention, I threw away the sword. It only cost about $200 anyway.

Btw, I think we should all go out hunting for these things. Maybe we could try forming into groups. I live in Pembroke Pines, Florida...

i work graveyard shift (midnight till 8 am) at a huge Motorola compound and i have heard, felt, and seen some freaky stuff during my shift.
ill probably post some tales during the weekend when there is less work to do.

as for the 3:33 thing. that got me thinking. maybe these creatures inhabit half of our physical plane, so instead of 6:66 (which is imposible unless 7:06 is equal to 6:66 on a clock!) 3:33 is some kind of gateway time for these beings.

i dunno. being at work my mind shifts into hyper mode.

RPG's... so many good games... so little time...

For a loooong time, probably since I was about seven, I would sometimes feel some strange shift in air and feel very scared. Now, being a fan of horror movies, when I would enter a room that felt odd, I would say: "Get out of here..." If the presence would stay, I would shout: "Get the hell out!"

ok... i've never believed in shadow creatures... the very thought of it was just stupid to me. personally i thought it was maybe another form of ghost.
when i was a kid i used to see a black form from time to time. it was kind of shapeless, moved quickly, and i always saw it in clear view. not out of the corner of my eye but right out in the open. i saw it when i was alone or with people. i've always chalked it up to just paranoia or imagination... when i was younger i dont think there was ever any talk of shadow creatures. in the 80's aliens and area 51 was the focus of paranormal discussion.

but recently my mother has seen something black & shapeless. she told me last night that the first time she saw it was at a family gathering. she was at the dining room table, sitting talking with about 10 family members. she said while she was just listening to her brother she felt something move behind her. as she turned to look something flew over her head. as it went over she saw a shadow on the table and heard sound change, like sound wasnt bouncing off the ceiling but just over her head. she told me that it felt so close that she ducked.

now if this wasnt coming from her i wouldnt believe it. she is a skeptic about everything. this whole conversation started when she was telling me how her day at work went.

so the other day at work something similar happened. something flew over her head in almost the same manner. but it came from left to right and it was so close that she ducked. her manager saw her and asked what was up. thinking that it was a bird (she works in a large warehouse) she told her manager that something needs to be done to keep them out... he told her nothing flew by and all the birds were in the other side of the warehouse where the heat was.

well up until a few days ago i thought shadow creatures were a bunch of crap... but now my thoughts have changed a bit. though many of the ideas presented about their existence seem a little crazy to me i'm definitely changing my stance of it being a bunch of crap.

I just got back from my high school cause I'm doing a trio in my band and when I was leaving I saw a strange shadow rush down this ramp that's next to the door of the bathroom. I think they're stalking me....

Ah crap, I just now realized I didn't post what happened the next night.

The next night, me and my friend got some cans of pop, and took them out to the shed, since it was cold, and we knew they'd stay cold if we were thirsty.

His dad is a hunter, so he brought his dad's nightvision goggles. We were hiding in the shed with the sliding door all the way closed except for an inch.

We had discovered that things in our neighborhood start around 12 midnight and last until about 3 something.

So we like decked out in commando gear all day, riding our bikes around the neighborhood and town. Never found anything freaky, although, we did come across a gathering of hobos or homeless people underneath a bridge as we biked along as we crossed the railroad tracks.

We stopped and were nice to them and said hi. They said hi back. I asked them if they had any place to stay. They shook their heads. There was like about 7 of them. I asked them where they sleep. They told me they sleep in the drain that is at the end of the park, which is behind the road that curves around behind my house.

There is about a 7 foot slope that slides down and into the park a little ways behind my house. They sleep in that drain I guess. There is a grate on it. They must get inside it from the small creek that runs through our ditches in our front yard. Our ditches flow through culverts and underneath driveways, and out into the open again until it gets to another driveway, well it keeps doing this until the dead end, then it goes down a few feet drop, and into a creek. A drain pours into this, to the west side of it. I think this drain connects to the drain in the park that looks out the side of the hill.

Anyway, they told me that they stay there because it is shelter, and people's water from like showers and stuff keeps them warm since they sleep on the sides that are raised up. They said that wierd stuff goes on in the park at night, like something walking through the park and pushing swings as it walks along its path. They said they frequently see it and hear it roar. They call it 'Tar Man'. I think they might be talking about the Shadow Creature.

They say it fills them with fright every single time. This is the most information I have ever gotten about it. They say it is the spirits of the dead indians who are buried beneath this part of town. That's what they say at least. I have never been told this legend before.

Anyway, later that night, we were in the shed. We had the nightvision goggles. At approximately 12:05, dogs started barking in the neighborhood. I heard short growls or grunts that sounded like they were coming from south of the neighborhood, which was in the direction of the park.

We looked at each other and turned on the goggles. We looked out the crack in the door. It got closer and closer until his neighbor's dog ran up to the house, out of fright. We heard something walking on the rocks in the alley, which was only about 10 feet behind the shed we were hiding in.

The feeling came back, my head started pounding and hurt, I could hear chanting in my head, and I was certain that it emits a negative field of evil energy around it, which is my explanation for those accompanying characteristics.

There was a wooden playset in his neigbor's yard, and something climbed over the fence and started tearing it apart. I don't know what happened to the dog, but it was like the dog disappeared, unless someone let him in.

The thing must have climbed back over the fence and went farther north, which was to our left. We had camouflage on, and dark jackets, and I wanted to go after it. My friend didn't want to, so he lagged behind me.

We snuck through the alley, in the direction I think it went. I didn't see anything, but I tried to walk slow, since I was starting to get into the light. Then a cat jumped out in front of me and scared me half to death.

It must have heard that because I could hear something climb over a chain link fence, and I could hear grunting, which didn't sound human.

I never ran faster in my life and we got to his house, and the idiot must have locked his door! So we ran around to the front of the house, and got in, but not before I saw something BIG run around the side of the house after me, and I was lucky to dive in the door and slam it shut as I got in.

heh I forgot about this topic. Anyways I have to more stories to tell one which was only a little creepy.

Ok my uncle owns land next to a really old house in Minnesota that's like 100 years old. So when I first went there with him we stayed in the house for the first night before setting up camp. As we were sitting there watching TV or trying to atleast. The fridge door opens and I go to investigate it. What I saw scarred me a little. A pitch black thing was walking into the bedroom we were going to be sleeping in. I told my uncle and he grabbed his semi-auto and we went to check it out. it turns out it dissapeared somewhere, but for that night he slept with the gun a his side and I was afraid to take a piss out of the room.

Other story:

Happened just last week. I woke up in my bed and in the corner of my room I see the demon thing standing in my corner seemingly staring at me. I stared it down for a while fearing to fall asleep. I decided I needed to get this thing out of my room so I did the most logical thing at the moment. I slowly reached over to my stand which has a cross on it. Trying not to have the thing attack me I manage to grab my cross. Conquering fear I sat up, held up the cross, and began saying the lords prayer. The thing just seemed unharmed, but soon let out a screech that sounded like a high pitch and a low pitch scream. After that it dissapeared and I haven't seen it since.

It's nice to know that you agree with me DFM. Btw, I went to see my older brother at a play he was in. If you want to know, it was A Midsummer Night's Dream. Anyway, the room would sometimes go pitch black. It was kinda creepy but I thought that the shadow creature I saw earlier wouldn't show since the auditorium was packed.
Well, as I had expected (and hoped), the shoadow creature didn't show up. Although, this girl sitting next to me said she saw some weird silhouette behind this blue screen behind the actors. When I looked, nothing was there.
Kinda discomforting but hey, I'm still alive. My brother was funny, he played a transvestite. Hilarious! Absolutely hilarious.

I've had two experiences concerning "shadow creatures" They both occurred just over a year ago and both were within a week of each other. (I write both experiences off as some kind of weird hallucination...but I don't fully reject the "shadow creature" theory)

When I was in bed, I woke up at about early morning/past midnight and felt there was someone is in my room with me. I looked over to the drawers next to my bed and it seemed there was a shadow of a person huddled on top of it. I freaked out and ran to the light switch near my door, but every time I tried to reach out to turn it on a feeling of absolute dread would just come over me (the kind of feeling when you have just read a really freaky story, only worse). I stood there and stared at it for about 10 minutes thinking what the hell should I do. Eventually I crawled back into bed and a weird feeling was telling me that as long as I didn't bother it, it would let me sleep......

About a week later after I had gone to bed I woke up again (must have been past midnight/very early morning, it was dark). To find I had somehow managed to fall out of bed and onto the floor. My back was up against the drawer next to my bed and I was sitting up with the blanket over my legs. Then suddenly what looked the shadow of a tall man came towards me, (it kind of floated towards me and as it was getting closer that feeling of dread I felt before would get stronger and stronger), and it stopped right in front of me. I threw the blanket over myself and blacked out (most likely from fear). I woke up the next morning with a severe aches all over as I had slept the rest of the morning until daylight, sitting up against the draw with the blanket over my face, in the exact same position I went into as the "shadow creature" was coming towards me.

Yeah, probably not as interesting as dogs getting massacred and weird ass shadow creatures with spiky armour and swords =p......but true nevertheless.

Luckily, I haven't experienced anything like it since....

Heres my contribution.

My house is between two other houses. Behind the houses is a nature trail with tall trees and bushes. Anyway me and a friend, Glenn were approaching the front door when i see a shadowy figure standing amongst the trees with what looked like a hat on and wings, large wings. I asked my friend if he saw it as well and he did. I stared for about 5 mins when it runs along the path. We gave chase and followed it but when we reached the path it was gone.

Well thats my encounter with a "shadow creature".

Shadow Creatures = Ninjas

Ninjas move so fast that most people only catch a glimsp of the Ninja's shadows for a split second and assume the Ninjas are shadow people and creatures. A ninja can live in your house for days and you wouldn't even know it. That's why you hear AWESOME loud guitar riffs coming from the attic and find dead pirate bodies all over your house.

And, DFM, I saw your other topic about you needing advice or something, I thought I'd post my response here:

a) you should move, it's too dangerous...
b) get a group of friends, buy a sword or something and go after this thing.
c) try and dismiss the entire existence of the shadow creature.
d) stay in your town in hiding of the shadow creature and get yourself possibly killed by it.

Like we've agreed on before, these things are dangerous. I suggest you go with plan A or B. It's your only choice. Anyhow, just think about this and try and do something about it.

That's kind of what I'm thinking about doing, however, I'm scared that the feeling I have is that the end of the world will end, possibly from a nuclear war or something, or find out I have cancer and am going to die. I can't explain it. It's like a splinter in my mind driving me mad, like Morpheus said. That is the only way I can explain it. Like my subconscious knows something, but I don't.

But I hope I'm just depressed, and nothing more.
