Craft names are not "compulsory" when you take up wicca but many do because it brings them closer to magick and you can finally choose your own name! You are not confined to a name which is supposed to sound right, it is supposed to fit you. How to find your craft name
Many people use meditation because it allows special words or names to come through from their subconscious or from spirits. I on the other hand used another method. I simply wrote down things that I liked, felt a connection with and linked them together in the way that I wanted to. I ended up with a very special name for me- MillanaKyelaNimue. It's all explained in the "about me" section. Simply I like elves/faes/other beings like that and I love the way elvish is spoken and written so that helped. I believe love is important in life so "Kyela". I love stars because they hold something secret and they're beautiful so the "ela" in "kyela" is there :). Nimue was the goddess of wild animals, the forests and I heard she's nice to beginners so obviously she became one of my fabourites! I spelt "Milana" differently because f my first ever pet that I loved. He was called Millie (I got the wrong name for the wrong sex but never mind!) and I put the "Mill" into "Milana" so he'd be remembered and hopefully he'll lend me some energy in spells ;)
How I started
Right, I'm going to type out what I scribbled down. Just to give you a nudge to help you on your way. No way is this the "proper" way to find your craft name. I'm sure there are more accurate and better ways!
"Rainbows, air, moon, blue, purple, yellow, swan, wolf, tiger, faeries, elves, aurora, milana, elia, ela, nimue, artemis" That was my list and I just randomly put them together. It might not work for everyone but it worked for me!
How to know if your craft name suits you
Simple! If your craft name's numerology suits you and it fits into the description of you then fine! If not, simply breathe, relax and try again :)
