Day 7
Tuesday December 23, 2014
Today is moving day so we packed up our things and got ready for the move. As we always do here we grabbed one last meal on the silver card before checking out. We decided to go to Cal Snack Bar and bring it to the room to eat. I got some ham and cheese croissants and an order of Spam for Dee. She's a closet fan of the stuff! today.
We wrapped up our stay at Main Street Station with a good meal and it was now time to depart. I hate leaving here because it seems like every time we stay here we enjoy it more and more. I also hate leaving because it means the trip is more than 1/3 of the way over.
The laundry wasn't set to be done until 1:30pm today so we stopped off at the Pinball Hall of Fame. I always like to stop here and always enjoy it. Loads of classic pinball and video games. I played here while Dee read out in the car. She's been here before and while she likes it, prefers to stay outside.
We headed out, picked up the laundry and jumped on the 95 where we'd remain for the next 90 minutes or so. Today's move takes us to Laughlin where we'll be spending the next 4 nights at the Aquarius. I booked this through my host here and she's comped all 4 nights up front. Also included is my mail offer for $400 in free play, Dee's mail offer for $300 in free play and a $50 offer from my host for my birthday giving us a total of $750 free play just for showing up. Our food will be charged to the room and evaluated at check out. Typically I despise having to do that but my host takes care of me here and we've never paid for a meal.
When we entered the driveway there was a birthday greeting on the big marquee out front for me. We snapped a few photos of that and parked the car.
We checked in in the VIP area and everything was in order. We were given room 18104. This is a handicap room with 2 beds, a nightstand, dresser, dining table, 32 inch flat screen and a view of the pool and river. The bathroom is a little larger than the regular rooms with safety bars in the shower and around the toilet. This is the same room we had back in the summer.
Once we got settled into the room it was time to have something to eat at Cafe Aquarius. It was too late for lunch but too early for dinner, so as George Costanza would say, it was linner. I had the beef stew in a bread bowl which was very good but lacking in the stew department. Dee had fish and chips.
Now it was time to hit the casino. Today we opted for some 3/5/10 play games. This session was good but after spending 6 nights at Main Street Station I found myself wanting to hit my change light to get a scratch card! We both hit straight flushes including myself hitting the ultra dreaded A2345. We also hit 2 sets of aces each, one that Dee hit was when she dumped a junk hand. Oddly though with all of the quads we hit other than the aces we only hit 2 bonus quads in over 20k in action. The end results were dropping quite a few bills here between us.
At the end of the night I ran $400 free play through 50¢ single line video poker and cashed out only $315. The other $50 Dee wanted to play some penny slots with. This was a total bust as we lost the whole $50 and only got $77 in action out of it.
We finished up the night and went to the room to watch some TV before getting to bed.
Total win/loss for the day - $350
Total Comps for the day $535
