Day 13
Saturday July 26, 2003
As usual with this trip after I pull an all night session I can’t sleep and woke up at about 9am. After I got up and got ready I had to stop off at the laundromat and pick up my clothes and then it was off to start a day of casino hopping at various casinos. I usually do ok when I do this and was hoping to make back a little bit of what I dropped yesterday. Unfortunately the hit and run method didn’t work today. I started off at Bally’s and dropped $86. Next move was over to Barbary Coast where I won $103. From the Barbary Coast I stopped off at O’Sheas. I lost another $18 here and moved over to the Mirage where I dropped another $125. I was going to go to more casinos in the area but I was tired of walking and tired of losing so I came back up here to the Fiesta.
The lack of sleep had caught up to me so I took a nap for about an hour and then headed down to the Baja Beach Café for something to eat. I went with chicken wings and fries tonight. After eating it was time for some FPDW.
I went to one of the nice slant top machines and started feeding in money bill after bill. I was in for $200 when on a 1-deuce hand I pulled the other 3 to get ahead a little bit. From here I was hitting quite a few wild royals and quints keeping in the game. About an hour later I hit the deuces again taking the meter up to over $600. I played a while longer ending the session after 3 ½ hours and up $300. A few more sessions like this and the trip might end up a whole lot better than looks like it’s going to be.
After cashing in my ticket at the cage I came back up to the room for another short break before going back to the casino for a little more video poker.
The next session of video poker wasn’t nearly as nice as the first one was. I played for a little over two hours but the machines weren’t as friendly. I wasn’t hitting the wild royals like I was earlier and the deuces didn’t pop up nearly enough to make the hands needed to keep going. I dropped $200 of the $300 I had won earlier.
It was now 2am and I was hungry so I went to get a late night breakfast over at the coffee shop. Nothing special tonight though so I just had bacon and eggs. After breakfast it was time for bed.
