The second of two daughters Silver watched from the shadows as Georgia and Savannah played together in the yard, a new puppy licking over Georgia’s neck her golden hair glittering in the splash of warm sunlight that streamed down upon them. “They are happy children Gerald?” Silver looked to her lover, and the girl’s father who had taken her children from her in a time of desperation. Neither of the girls had ever known their mother, and neither of the girls would know that their mother was the Silver Dragon. “Yes of course they are Silver.” Gerald whispered softly meeting her eyes a long moment with a fond smile that echoed his love and his only happiness when he was near her. Georgia squealed jumping up and running towards the house as the puppy chased her about the yard, Savannah quickly on her sister heals chasing both the puppy and Georgia into the house as a crash and a scream was heard suddenly all laughter stopped immediately. “How dare you! You heathens! Uncontrollable, savages!”

A woman’s voice could be heard echoing through the house as the two girls froze in their tracks listening to the only mother they had ever known. Katherine was a lady in every aspect of the word, her straight posture and snobbish attitude was enough to ensure that fact. She was the wealthiest and prettiest in the county when she had married Gerald at the tender age of 16. But Gerald, had known nothing of Katherine when he married her, he was ten years her senior, and forced into a marriage with the only woman whose dowry would say his beloved plantation. He had been unfaithful; Silver had been his true love.

On a battlefield is where they had met, he was rushing across the lines when suddenly he came face to face with the most beautiful creature he had ever seen in his life. Her eyes captured his soul, and her sword fell hard against the shoulder of his armor just before she slammed her faceplate down. He had attempted to man handle her, thinking her a woman and obviously weaker, but she not only forced him back with her blows, she bested him repeatedly, playing with him, as her laughter could be heard from in the echo of the hollow armor. She taunted and played with him for hours, blow to blow he met her sword, fending it off, keeping up with her for hours upon hours, until his arms ached with the desperation of rest. Silver finally stopped as he fell to the ground, she pulled the helmet off and stared down at him with a smirk. “Your really quite good for a mortal.” Her voice like silk, soft and seductive. His voice was caught in his throat, he didn’t know what to say, the entire battle continued around them, hundreds fought, swords clashing violently against one another, but he heard nothing, absolute silence embodied them. Not even a fait whisper could be heard in the distance as his eyes snapped back to hers, confused and mistrusting. “Sssshhhh mortal do not fear, I have already taken my fill from the deer you savages keep scarring across the country side, and unless I have need of a snack.”

Another smirk slid across her crimson lips as her brilliant blue eyes sparkled with amusement. Gerald was dumbfounded. “Mortal? Snack?” He stood up suddenly holding his sword defensively as Silver’s laughter filled the silence that enfolded them. “My, my, my we are a nervous one aren’t we.” She teased him as she watched the realization sink into his small mortal mind. “Well your close.” She whispered gently easily reading his thoughts. “But it is day light. If I were vampire, you and I wouldn’t be having this conversation in the middle of the day.” Gerald’s eyes narrowed slightly as he contemplated, Silver saw the struggle with in him, but enjoying his rabid exhaustion, and the horrid thoughts that filled his mind fleetingly she allowed him to continue guessing until she tired of his struggle and finally answered the question for him. In a moments notice her size, doubled, the tripled, then grew so massive that Gerald had to tip his head back against his shoulder and look up to see the eyes of a monstrous silver dragon towering over him. Slowly and in her own irking infuriating time Silver lowered her head to his level, she was huge, larger perhaps then anything he had ever seen. Reading his thought she offered him a toothy dragonic grin, more to frighten him with then to comfort, her teeth being hundreds of yards in height and razor sharp. “Yes mortal.”

She allowed her voice to fill his mind and echo in its depth. “I am a dragon.” Gerald said nothing, he started at her and slowly assessed the situation, but as he looked her over he did something no other being had ever done in her presence. With a timid hand, he reached out and boldly ran his hand along the sharpness of her tooth. Weather to judge the strength of an advisory, or to prove to her he wasn’t as frightened as she knew he was, by the fleeting thoughts that surged through his mind; Silver was astonished. She was now the one at a loss for words. Staring at this tiny being of whom she could gobble up with one tiny bite she was some how humbled. His hand never strayed from her once he laid it upon her.

Moving the palm softy over her lower jaw, rubbing gently as he watched her not only frightfully but also curiously. With a thought Silver was in human form again, Gerald’s hands still roamed over her face and neck, she allowed her own arms to slither around his waist as she drew him close to herself looking deep into his eyes questionably for a long moment before pressing her mouth firmly against his. Silver had two children with Gerald, her only two children, both daughters they grew strong, and beautiful, their talents unmatched by most and there whits unchallengable. When Silver left Gerald was heartbroken. He already had two children with Katherine, his two boys. And when Silver was reluctantly left, having been called away suddenly, there was only one choice in Gerald’s mind. He asked his wife Katherine to accept his daughters as her own. Katherine did so, but only because she had no other choice, it was accept them, or loose her husband and good name. And so Savannah and Georgia were raised, along side Katherine’s boys as her very own, ignorant to their true nature, or to who their mother really was.

Katherine was reminded daily of Gerald’s adultery and betrayal when she looked down to the two blond haired girls that obviously were not her own. Her boys, John and James favored her. Deep dark brown eyes complimented by auburn and red hair. Katherine sighed and looked down to the girls “OUT! Just get out!” she screamed throwing the puppy out the backdoor, along with the girls. Silver’s eyes narrowed as she watched Katherine with her children, looking hurriedly to Gerald she met his eyes bowing her head for a moment. “I will return for them soon Gerald, for the time this is suitable, they are safe here.” Gerald frowned slightly looking to his pride and joys sitting upon the lawn, Georgia was crying softly as Savannah sat trying to comfort her baby sister. “Yes Silver, I won’t fight you. They’re your daughters, of course they will want to be with their mother.” He whispered a bit hurt by the fact that she might take them from him. Silver smiled brightly sweeping a hand under his chin and pressing a kiss softly against his lips. “I’ll return for you as well my love.” She met his eyes with a soft and knowing smile as he bowed his head and smiled relieved suddenly. “Aye darling.” He winked at her and turned back towards the house with out another word. Silver stood in the shadows watching the young girls play long after he left her, she would be returning to her world in the next few days and she would have little time to drop in and check on them after.

Georgia cried out with a scolding fever her temperature was well over dangerous levels, her small hands clinging to her father’s neck as he rocked her worriedly in the nursery. Sitting up with her day and night he put her carefully into the cool bath in hopes that it would bring the relentless fever to a halt. But each day she grew more and more ill. Placing a cold rag upon her head Gerald sat back in the rocking chair near her bed and closed his eyes to get some sleep before Georgia woke up and needed him again.

Sometime during the night Silver slipped in having felt her youngest daughter’s misery she swept a patient and cool hand over the child’s forehead. Feeling the fever she sighed and shook her head looking worried for only a moment before she sat down upon the bed and ran her fingertips softly over the girl’s head. The fever was gone in a matter of moments; the illness that had plagued the child for a week was suddenly gone from her small body. Silver opened her eyes and smiled as she leaned down slowly and placed a gentle kiss upon Georgia’s lips enjoying the few moments she had with her baby. Hour’s later Gerald awoke to the sound of Georgia’s laughter in his ear as she played with a gold coin in her hands. Her clothes clean, her hair having been washed and brushed, the child looked like nothing was ever wrong, as if death did not knock on her door just the day before as she suffered with a fever that would have surely kill her. Gerald looked astonished until he inspected closer the coin Georgia played with in her hands. The silver coin told him all he needed to know of his daughter’s miraculous recovery. The years continued like this, as the children grew older Gerald noticed several times over their childhood that Silver had obviously intervened in their lives. From the day Georgia had been ill, whenever one of the children got sick, be it his boys (that were not Silver’s children, but Katherine’s) or Georgia and Savannah they were immediately brought back to health in the matter of a few days. And so they lived prosperously, happy. Georgia and Savannah both were taught to be perfect ladies by Katherine. They were constantly being corrected of their etiquette and sent to the finest breeding school in the country.

But suddenly the happiness came to an abrupt halt, when Georgia was 15 the only mother she had ever known; Katherine was in a horrible accident and killed instantly. The wagon flipped, falling into the flooded river and flowing down stream, Katherine’s body was never recovered, and neither was Georgia’s demeanor. All that was happiness seemed to die with her mother, Georgia’s father blamed himself for her death, James and John her brother’s and Katherine’s true children mourned the loss of their mother very hard, they blamed their father secretly as well and grew bitter towards him. Georgia spent most of her time away from home, in a stream of ladies schools, or at the homes of distant cousins and family friends. Her life was consumed suddenly with finding a husband and becoming presentable.

Savannah married two years after her mother’s death at the age of 18. Georgia felt like the only other part of herself was being taken away again. Her eldest sister and constant friend as she grew up was leaving her, going to be married to a member of court, and become Lady Savannah Jordan. Her husband had a reputation as being a shrewd man, but wealthy. He promised Savannah the world, and for the briefest of moments he provided it for her. Although nothing seemed to ease Georgia’s uneasiness, she always sought out something all together different. And different was what she found.

He was a powerful figure; his hair glistened in the sun as he moved with a cat like grace towards her. His eyes met hers and for an instant, she thought her entire world might come to a dead stop. His smile was intoxicating, and his beauty in her eyes was unparalleled. “Hunter I would like you to meet Georgia.” Armand said carefully as he introduced the two of them. Hunter took her hand and softly placed a kiss upon the top of her knuckles, his lips barley touching her skin, but seeming to warm her whole body as it sent a shock of heat down her spine. “Charmed I’m sure.” Georgia whispered in return utterly captivated by this figure as she watched his every move. But he seemed uninterested in her, his posture turned and his gorgeous eyes left her own in search for something more interesting as he looked back to Armand. “She is the one that you have gotten to assist with LeGion?” Hunter asked softly as he offered her yet another tender smile that Georgia thought for a moment would stop her heart. “Yes.” Armand replied calmly and coolly, his accent being thick yet gentle to the ear. Hunter’s eyes looked back to her as he looked her over slowly. “Well she will definitely peek LeGion’s interest.” Hunter laughed as Georgia blushed, her cheeks drawn with color as she bowed her eyes to the floor. Hunter studied her for a long moment as he smiled and nodded. “Yes well then.” He turned and picked up the cloak that he had only moments ago lain over the coat rack in the corner. “If I am needed Lady Georgia, I shall leave you a way to get in touch with me.” Hunter offered as his shadow darkened the doorway that he stood in. His gallant features causing Georgia to simply stare for the longest moment before properly responding to him. “Yes milord, that shall be most appreciated.” She offered in return as he nodded and smiled that dashing smile, Georgia instantly felt her pulse race when he looked at her and offered her that small part of himself. But then he was all together gone, his shadow having faded down the hall, leaving her alone in the room with Armand to her right. Yes Armand has always been a trusted friend, but he was devious and would and could be interested in only himself at times. She wondered if this plan he had concocted was more for his own benefit then it was for Hunter’s. And yet again with the simple thought of Hunter her inside twisted, her stomach filled with butterflies, and she couldn’t wait until the next moment when she would see him again.
