“Awe! He is just too cute!” said Rachel as she finished reading.
“I’m just amazed he’s actually sitting down long enough to turn on a computer, let alone write a nice long email to everyone!” said Mardy. The three of us laughed because we knew it was true. I mean, he’s a busy guy these days, and it was quite impressive that he sat down at a computer long enough to write an email.
“Is he still on?” Sam asked.
“Yep!” Exclaimed Rachel when she saw that he was.
“Well email him back from the four of us. Maybe he’ll respond too.” Mardy said.
“Haha, fat chance, but let’s email him anyway!” Rachel agreed to email him back right away.

Hola Justin! It’s Rachel & Mya (your angels) plus Samantha and my mom. We just read your email and got finished reading the review of you guys, and we just wanted to say congratulations darlin’! The show was incredible (especially from our great seats and your entire family behind us!) and it was awesome hanging out with you guys afterwards. (Now if only it would have been another 4 blocks away…then it would have been my house! Ha!) But anyway, we all just wanted to say congrats on the show and on the great review. Say hello to the family from us, and we’ll see you soon!

peace & love,

Rachel, Mya, Samantha & Mardy

“Ok, sent!” Rachel said.
“Great…so here’s what I’M wondering. He said he’d “see us VERY soon (hint!)” now what is that supposed to mean? When is this so-called soon?”
“Well it’s got to mean there is something in the works I guess! Possibly that contest?” Mardy said.
“Yeah, I wonder what that contest is!” said Sam, enthusiastically. “It better not be another ‘whatever person to sign the guestbook’ because I HATE those!”
“Oh my god, me too!” I complained. Those were the worst! Because you never knew exactly where the contest stood and you never knew when it would end. And everyone was always complaining that it was rigged. Hopefully they wouldn’t be doing another one of those types of contests.
As soon as Rachel closed the email from Justin, she checked out the site just to see if there was any information on the contest.
“Ooh! Look! A button that says CONTEST!” she blurted out. She clicked on it, and all it said was ‘Keep watching this space for a new Vi3 contest! Coming your way soon!’ “Awe damn.” She said, disappointed. For a minute or two, we clicked around on some random websites, checked out the pictures that Steve had up on his site from the show (haha ours were better!) and just kind of talked to a few people. We were just about to sign off when Rachel checked her email one last time. Scrolling down, she stopped at the end. She saw a few words and started laughing. In her mailbox, she saw an email from none other than Vi3justin@aol.com with the subject Re: Re: Thank you so much!
“Ha! How’s THAT for same day service?!” She yelled. And immediately the three of us bolted back into the room we had just left.
“Wow. I think that’s a new world record for Justin!” said Sam.
“Oh I’m with you on that one!” I said. That was the fastest reply I had ever seen.
“Well don’t just stare at it, open and read Rachel!” Mardy voiced. Rachel opened the email, and she read Justin’s reply out loud as we all read over her shoulder anyway.
“Thanks so much you guys! Like I said, it was so awesome to see so many familiar faces last night. Thanks for the comments on the show too! Great to hear that you loved it! And I’ll be sure to tell the family that you all say hello. My mom said that she had a great time partying with all of you last night!! :) And I saw the picture that she took of my angels too! You know I love those outfits! Fo’ sho’!! Thanks again guys! I love all of you!” Rachel concluded. “Awe, his mom had fun!” was all Rachel could really say. I was still trying to comprehend how he emailed us back so quickly. All of us let out a collective “Awe” and we left the room for good this time.

“Mya! Did you see the contest?!” was the first thing that Samantha said to me when she called my house at 9:45 am on the 6th of January.
“Ugh, no. Not yet. I WAS sleeping. I can’t see a computer screen in my sleep.” Was my reply. As usual, she was waking me up. And the fact that it was a Saturday didn’t matter at all.
“Well go online and look! Oh my god someone we know HAS to win!”
“I’m not getting on my computer now. I’ll do it when I wake up.”
“Well fine. Then I’m just going to read it to you. Now wake up so you can hear this.” She said. She started reading the information off of the official site to me over the phone. “Valentine’s day with Vi3! That’s the title of the contest.” I was intrigued. I listened even more attentively now. “How would you like to have Vi3 as your personal Valentines? Enter today to win a Vi3 performance for you and 15 of your closest friends in Chicago on Valentine’s Day! Register your name now! One winner will receive round-trip airfare from anywhere in the continental United States to Chicago, IL and a one night stay at a Chicago hotel for themselves and their 15 guests. While in Chicago, the winner and guests will attend the Vi3 post-tour press conference and be given the opportunity to ask Vi3 questions. Afterwards, Vi3 will be performing a private, acoustic show to the winner and guests. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so get in on it today! Fifty runners up will receive an autographed Valentine’s Day card sent to their home. All entries must be received by February 1st, and the winner will be notified by phone and email on or around February 8th. If the winner is under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Employees of MCA Records, EB Entertainment, Levi’s, Ward One Artistry and their immediate families are not eligible. Should the date of the conference change, the winner will be notified and the airfare will be replaced. If the date should change and the winner is unable to attend, a new winner will be chosen.”
“Oh my goodness.” Was all I could say. This was a little too good to be true for me. “There’s some sort of catch. There’s got to be a catch!” I said, not believing the quality of this prize. “It’s got to be like a two song set, and the seats for the press conference are going to be like all the way in the back. That’s got to be it.” I joked. I mean, come on. This prize was a bit too good to be true.
“Well I’m emailing EB to see if there is something they’re not telling us. Like a ‘catch’ as you say” she said to me. “But that contest is awesome, and we have to enter EVERYONE we know and make sure that if they win they take all of us with!”
“You are definitely right! I’m going to enter everyone in my family, my neighbors, the people I work with…seriously!” I was a little excited about this one. “Have you called Rachel yet?”
“No, but I’m sure she knows already! She’ll probably call both of us and email us before noon. Well I’m gonna go I guess.” She said. “I’m going to email EB and then probably do nothing, so I’ll call you later ok?”
“Alright. Maybe I’ll actually get out of bed.” I joked. I hung up with her and ended up going right back to sleep. I woke up again at around 11:30. I turned on my radio and I heard “Backstage Girl” playing on the air, and I smiled. I thought to myself that I should get out of bed and actually start moving, considering I did have to work today, and at the rate I was moving, I wouldn’t make it there in the next four years. I slowly rose out of bed and hit the cold air in my bedroom. Realizing that it was cold, I left my room as fast as possible and went out into the hallway. I walked down the stairs to sit myself in front of my computer, and I yawned.
“It lives.” I heard coming from the living room downstairs. It was my brother and two of his friends.
“Yeah. It does.” I said without even acknowledging the other people in the house. I walked into the computer room and sat down in the chair. I had to see for myself what the details for this contest were.
