Let's Go Mets! SEPTEMBER 15 - HOME GAME #71 vs Miami Marlins (61-83)

Jacob deGromm (13-7) tries to extend the Mets 8 game win streak against the Marlins Tom Koehler (9-13). Since Sept. 1, Yoenis Cespedes leads MLB in RBIs (19), runs (16) and homers (9).

83-62 +8.5

Lets Go Mets! A poor performance by starter Jacob deGrom, allowing 3 runs in both the 4th and 5th innings. The Marlins never let the Mets get back in the game although the Mets had a few chances to do so. The Marlins pitcher Koehler, hit Yoenis Cespedes in the hip with a first inning pitch to rile up the Mets a bit. When Koehler came up to bunt in the 7th, Mets reliever Erik Goeddel threw a pitch behind Koehler's back, prompting a warning to both benches from the home plate umpire.

Game #71 view

Very nice seat in the Delta Club tonight, last row 18 directly behind home plate. Waiter service, clean restrooms just inside, padded seat. When I bought my tickets in November I ended up with some nice seats for the final month. Only 10 home games left before the season is done.

The juggernaut Mets offence was nowhere to be found tonight. A few warning track power fly balls but no home runs. The Marlins are playing better than earlier in the season but I expected some balls getting knocked around by the Mets. Earlier this year, in June and July, 3 runs and 7 hits would be acceptable as a high production game but now it is short of expectations.
