The Mets got to A.J. Burnett early and cruised to the win. Travis d'Arnaud collected three extra base hits (two doubles, 3-run home run). Bartolo Colon was great scattering 8 hits and allowing only one run over 7 and 2/3 innings just one game after his taking a perfect game into the seventh inning his last start in Seattle.
Spent a lazy evening escaping the 100 degree heat outside, prone on the couch watching the game on TV. Today I started the second to last work week until retirement. It's a strange feeling counting down single digits now until I no longer have to go to work. I will spend most of this week and the next saying goodbye to co-workers and explaining my 2015 Dream for retirement. Of the 460+ employees at work only 2 (3 officially) have been there longer than myself. I collected up my tools today off of my work truck and will probably bring them home Friday. There are a few celebrations scheduled for the weekend of the 10th that I will write about later.
