Trust beyond limits

12/24/97 (2:14am)

Trust in flesh and come to nothing; Worldly treasures will destroy. Comes tomorrow, move no further Than away from God’s own joy. Time will not embrace you tender. Space will give no special touch. Matter offers only nightmare. Jesus stands on Truth and such. Trust in God and come to Wisdom; Godly treasures will deliver. Comes tomorrow, move toward Him; Leave the thief and join the giver... The Lord gave us time and space and matter as limits within which we have been given the first life with which to choose: the finite nature of that within which choices can be made, and false hopes await belief; or the infinite nature beyond this life’s limitations where-in the spirit may be touched if we should wisely choose to embrace that which is unseen, that which waits to embrace us with the second life, eternal. Comes tomorrow, move toward Him; Leave the thief and join the giver. In the blink of a dream

6/28/98 (4:43pm)

We think we understand the nature of life by the power of flesh within the essence of ourselves; but stand merely clueless right at the very edge of Truth; being so blind in our own right, the truth might just as well be a million miles off-- for what does a dog raised in a concrete box know of a forest or a tree-- or for that matter, the truth might be in our blind ignorance the lie that strikes the senses of the flesh-- for one who never had sight might well think the whole world also lives in darkness and claim that lack of light having never seen its flicker as a very personal friend. At the end of it all, life might well be over in the blink of a dream. Andrew D. Festa

The claim of stain

6/28/98 (6:11pm)

Stained; the truth began as spotless, without error, without flaw, but mankind saw through tainted eyes a truth twisted to lie by the fallacy of flesh-- a dream that claims to be reality on the verge of everything causing truth like a sheet used to clean a mess to be stained. The spotless becomes blemished by perception claiming to know all from the base of very little, but the blemish is not seen by the blind who use the lie to define truth, and in the end the sheet of knowing becomes stained. The Plumbing (filters)

6/28/98 (7:30pm)

The eyes are inlets letting all manner of things in filtering only in accordance with the values we impose upon ourselves. The ears are inlets letting in what can be heard filtering only in accordance with the definition of acceptance. Touch is an inlet letting us feel beyond ourselves primarily filtered in accordance with perception as defined by all things of our past, experiential by degrees. Taste is an inlet letting in all manner of sensation which perceptions help define. These senses are the inlets to the soul. Our actions and our mouth are the outlets of that which was let in. The scope of truth within the soul is that which filters what comes in before it leaves again. We give in accordance to reception; plumbing shapes the soul.

On the wings...

6/28/98 (10:21pm)

Standing on the wings of illusion, the elect turn from what they know grasping at the death they see as dream, the nightmares of flesh which leech the soul dry. The saddest thought is not the effect of their misguidings & misdirections upon themselves, but the echoes they make upon an unsuspecting world-- for to claim to know a greater truth while bathing in a lesser lie is to walk off the edge of a chasm clutching the souls of those who glance toward the imperfect reflection... souls who think they see the true value of The Lord, or who believe that God is but a myth born in the minds of simple men strung out on the wings of their despair. Standing on the wings of illusion the elect turn from what they know...... Andrew D. Festa

The end?

6/29/98 (12:39am)

The end is coming nigh; it's all the rage these days in small screens and the big scenes of destruction touch the fancy of the paranoid. New visions of the future come at us from all corners, designed to give enlightenment (or so the seers say) but causing only fear among the masses, ignorant, as if this world of flesh and lies held all that we could be. But I am NOT concerned about the future of this world nor what it holds; rather, I embrace the Truth of God & His Salvation and I see the future as forever in His Kingdom. His end will NEVER come. The illusion of control

6/29/98 (11:50pm)

(This poem was inspired by a commercial I was watching
that was talking about home equity.)
In a world of treasures, equity defines purpose and direction; the false pride of galantry edges the blind closer to oblivion; truth is less than even myth; and satan begs indulgence in trivialities of no greater worth than wearing plastic wings on a passenger jet bound for nowhere.

Do you not yet inderstand? Satan hands you the illusion of control only to steal away your eternal soul.

Do you not yet comprehend? The deceiver offers you treasures of all sorts calling them heaven while hiding the hell of them, promising to please with them while blinding your eyes to the finality of them.

Do you not yet get it? God will not deceive, and the deceiver can never love you.

standing all alone

6/30/98 (*)

For the first thirty-five years of my journey I walked on blind and proud as sin; I always knew what true reality was until I asked The Lord to come in. Deep in the heart of this world in which I've grown, I have passed a million people each the sower and the sown. Riding sideways on the length of time I've come to know the Savior's shine... But by every act of disobedience I am standing all alone. (***to be finished at some later date***) Andrew D. Festa Return to TOP

Jonah

7/6/98 (1:56am)

So many people are called by The Lord to serve Him in the midst of night, people who know what He wants of us all but who choose not to pass on the Light. Jonah, where are you today? Don't you dare say "I don't know the way". Jesus gave us all answers a long, long time ago. No one has the right to say "I want to serve but I just dont know... the way." So serve Him as you know you should and spread His Word along. He gave us life and He gave His Grace so we should trust He'll make us strong. Jonah, where are you today? Don't you dare say "I don't know the way". Jesus gave us all answers a long, long time ago. No one has the right to say "I want to serve but I just dont know... the way." ...No one has the right to say "I want to serve but I just dont know... the way."

The joy of them

(His eternal embrace)

7/6/98 (2:47am)

Treasure the special moments, few as they are, for complaints merely cloud the joy of them, and God does not give them so to leave a bitter taste. There are all too many pains in life to let slip by even the smallest reason to smile. Death will take us away someday from this world of joys and sorrows, often sneaking up on us while we're busy searching for the next moment. But The Lord did not put us here to fear the coming of the end; rather, He wants us to embrace Him while life embraces us, taking even the smallest joys with a smile and a prayer of thanksgiving and standing strong against the tide of sorrows knowing He will never leave nor forsake us and that one day He'll welcome us to eternal happiness and His eternal embrace.

the darkness you can’t see

7/10/98 (1:15am)

Humans, uniquely, want things to be as they desire, often going to great lengths to make it so and just as often failing even to make par. We mistake our intellect for the ability to control our own destiny often mistaking accomplishment for the power of control. But that's the nature of the game: Satan grasps at our souls by turning our minds against our hearts and our hearts against our souls. If you'll but turn off this world's noise for even just a little while you'll hear the voice of Him who wants to save you from the darkness you can't see.

the blink

7/21/98 (4:59pm)

In the blink of an eye, all will be gone... all will be gone in the blink of a dream. One day soon will come the whisp of the nothing and gone will be the staying of all desires; all hope will melt into a crippling web of despair. Do not believe the lie! Do not give power to doubt nor allow flesh to rule your soul; let no thought of self of any manner distract your heart from the truth of Him who saves, and who waits to welcome home the sheep who stray. Trust in Jesus, fully, or be caught in the blink of deception.
