Return to TOPJesus Came
(Jan-1997)
I once saw nothing -- but dreams I didn't have. I once had nothing -- but things I didn't need. I once tried nothing -- but what I couldn't do. And all I became was what I could not be. Then Jesus came into my heart, and Jesus walked into my soul, and Jesus flew throughout my life, and I was then complete and whole. I now see nothing -- but dreams of serving God. I now have nothing -- but what The Lord has done. I now try nothing -- but what He calls me do. And I've become [a sinner] Saved and WON! `cause Jesus came into my heart, and Jesus walked into my soul, and Jesus flew throughout my life, and I have never felt so right and whole! Andrew D. Festa

the long ride home
4/20/97 (10:57pm)
It's been a long ride, a strange trip along a path of dead bones and lucid dreams. Standing firm on the vast reality of life's lurid illusion we grasp the nothing before us when what we thought was truth melts beneath our hopes. The Lord created this world for the purpose of Choice, a purpose of deciding whether we prefer His Eternity on the strength of rock, or this finite illusion in the weakness of sand. Many spiritual ills infected my life in this deception, this illusion. Temptations beyond measure emptied my soul to a crowded wasteland. The illusion caught me well: thrilled me, pleased me, filled me and teased me, all the while hiding its lies. Satan wants us to enjoy the long ride and to look back at the journey as if the value of life was behind us and the meaning of life was in travel. Satan offers a golden ring, one that is seen and will last the length of breathing. The ring of this illusion lies with its visibility, causing many to value that which can't be kept. But, though The Lord asks us to believe in that which can't be seen, He promises a ring that can't be stolen, won't rust nor fade and will last eternally. Some say it's foolish to reach for the unseen, but I question the wisdom of those who reach for that which they can't keep. What is the value of the sum of Time and Space and Matter when its purpose is shrouded in a lie just this side of the end of its own road? What is the value of life when its purpose is bedded in its unguarenteed length? It's been a long ride...home. Andrew D. Festa

BOUNDARIES
3/25/97 (2:30am)
Life is a rude struggle. Those who assume a measure of control struggle most and pitch sideways or back in a forward existence. Many, after a lifetime of travel, find themselves no further than the first step. Sadly, many choose to remain beyond possibilities, where travel is without movement, saying, "there's no reason to change now" and, "I'm set in my ways." Most people, even Christians, are like fish in a bowl: "there is no purpose beyond comfortable boundaries." Life is a rude struggle. Those who accept this finite existence as the ultimate, "all there is or needs to be," are fully unprepared for the first step in eternity beyond the edge of limits. Andrew D. Festa

Touch
5/24/97 (1:11pm)
Taste the sweet touch of a fragrant moment, feel the warm glow of a kind spoken word, hold fast the chamber of another full day and know that The Lord has designed the show!! If you boldly enjoy the soft silence of winter, if spring makes your mind dance at the first sprout, if you appreciate the vast flavors of summer, then fall to your knees and Praise God with a Prayer and a SHOUT!! Nothing is that wasn't known, nothing will be that won't be shown, from wisdom, from spirit, from Jesus we've grown, and as great as you see, there is going to be, a better touch waiting: back home!! ONCE IN A THOUSAND YEARS
(March, 1997)
Once in a thousand years time offers a shadow smile during a journey's life. From somewhere beyond measure temporality builds parts into a moment more than beholding but less than beyond. Space, barefoot, stands on jagged edges of its own limits; Time straps us to a single instant no more than the knowing of matter. Our pride fountains in this trepid afterthought, life; beached by ignorance of Spirit, which was, is and will be. But, once in a thousand years, the Smile is more than shadow and Truth is understood as more than all the world's knowing... and the journey bubbles with infinite purpose. Andrew D. Festa
