I was trying to figure out how to include this date because we crossed the International Date Line on our flight to Tokyo. When we landed in Tokyo, we had to go through security screening again before we could board the flight to Beijing. I had put in a pair of blunt point children’s scissors that the screeners in Tokyo confiscated. Oh well, I couldn’t protest too much.
We arrived safely in Beijing at about 9:00 pm. Nothing eventful happened getting through customs and after a short wait, we were met by our guide to take us to the Peace Hotel. We were all exhausted and went to bed.
