Guess what? It is still raining. This morning when we went to the wholesale pearl and jade market, it was pouring down buckets. The rain let up a little in the afternoon and then became heavy again in the evening. The pearl market was visually amazing.

The Wholesale Pearl Market

There were lots of small shops with plastic bags full of pearls, different colored jewels and stones all over their shops. I tried to take a photo in one of the shops and the shopkeeper asked me not to. It is difficult to do much shopping with two small children so we did a lot of looking.

Daddy, buy me a pony!

In the afternoon I (Teresa) went to a meeting with other Holt parents to do paperwork. We needed to fill out more forms for the American visas for our children. The forms we fill out may be different every time, but the information they require is the same. It took us over an hour to fill out the final necessary forms.

After the meeting there was a group afternoon tea and buffet. I don’t know how many photos I will find of today. Yong seems to be settling in. Today he fell asleep on the bus on the way home from the pearl market and slept until Paul woke him up for the buffet.

There are so many beautiful things to see here. China is a beautiful country.
