Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Tanner Johnson, 6-3 So. Reese Ryan, 6-9 Sr. Jack Whitman, 5-11 Sr. Dillon Avare, and 6-2 So. Jarod Griffin. Paul L. Dunbar coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-5 Sr. Eric Trigg, 6-5 Sr. E.J. Floreal, 6-7 Sr. Taylor King, 5-10 Sr. Mike Smith, and 6-2 Sr. William Gary.
Lexington Catholic trailed 31-27 at halftime but rallied to eke out a 55-52 victory over Dunbar. There were 10 lead changes and three ties in this contest. Lexington Catholic shot 50% from the field including seven of 15 from the three point line. The Knights connected on eight of 16 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 11 points off seven Dunbar turnovers. Dunbar shot 40% from the field including three of 12 from beyond the arc. The bulldogs connected on one of eight free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Jarod Griffin added 12 points on four three point baskets. Tanner Johnson chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.
William Gary led Dunbar with 17 points and nine rebounds. E.J. Floreal added 10 points and nine rebounds. Eric Trigg chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.
