Galena coach Jamie Watson started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Maggie Furlong, 5-9 Fr. Gracie Furlong, 6-0 Sr. Hannah Lacey, 5-6 So. Taylor Burcham, and 5-6 So. Brimfield trailed 22-14 after three quarters but staged a furious rally to earn a 32-31 victory over Galena.  The score was tied 31-31 when Elynn Peterson was fouled with 2.1 seconds remaining on the clock.  Peterson missed the first shot bur hit the second one and Jaclyn Fabry intercepted a pass at the buzzer to seal the victory.  There were four lead changes and six ties in this game.  Brimfield shot 34.3% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on three of seven free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 18 Galena turnovers.  Galena shot 28.6% from the field including five of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Pirates connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 22 Brimfield turnovers. 

 

Ella Lune led Brimfield with 10 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and six blocked shots.  Elly Doe added eight points including two three point baskets and two assists.  Sophie Bedell recorded six points, five rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Jaclyn Fabry chipped in with five points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Elynn Peterson added three points and seven steals.

 

Taylor Burcham led Galena with 15 points including two three point baskets and five steals.  Addie Hefel added six points, eight rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and four steals.  Maggie Furlong recorded six points and three rebounds.

Quincy (Notre Dame) defeated Winnebago by the score of 63-56.  Winnebago led 29-28 at halftime but Quincy (Notre Dame) outscored Winnebago 20-10 in the third quarter to gain control of the game.  There were eight lead changes and four ties in this game.  Quincy (Notre Dame) shot 43.2% from the field including two of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Raiders connected on 29 of 34 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Winnebago turnovers.  Winnebago shot 33.9% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 14 of 24 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Quincy (Notre Dame) turnovers.

 

Abbey Schreacke led Quincy (Notre Dame) with 35 points including 14 of 14 free throws, 11 rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals.  Blair Eftink added 13 points including seven of eight free throws, six rebounds, and two assists.  Lia Quintero recorded seven points, five rebounds, and two steals.  Eryn Cornwell chipped in with six points and six rebounds.

 

Renee Rittmeyer led Winnebago with 16 points including two three point baskets, four of four free throws, five rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Miyah Brown added 12 points including six of nine free throws, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Campbell Schrank recorded 10 points and six rebounds.  Sarah Seger chipped in with 10 points, four rebounds, and two steals.

Grace Sullivan led Carmel with 13 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Jordan Wood added 12 points, three assists, and two blocked shots.  Mia Gillis recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

Simone Sawyer led Lincolnshire (Stevenson) with 26 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and five steals.  Ava Bardic added 13 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds.  Kate Arne chipped in with eight points.  Emory Klatt recorded five points, nine rebounds, two assists, and four steals.  Kendall Williams pulled down seven rebounds.

Ensworth outscored Knoxville Catholic 20-8 in the second quarter on their way to a 65-43 victory.  Ensworth shot 36.4% from the field including four of 19 from the three point line.  The Tigers connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and 19 points off 21 Knoxville Catholic turnovers.  Knoxville Catholic shot 28.9% from the field including one of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Fighting Irish connected on 16 of 18 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored four points off 11 Ensworth turnovers.

 

Jaloni Cambridge led Ensworth with 26 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, five assists, and seven steals.  Kamil Collier added 18 points including six of eight free throws and 12 rebounds.  Deayonna Cambridge recorded 11 points including two three point baskets.  Jayda Woods chipped in with six points including four of four free throws, 11 rebounds, and six assists.

Lipscomb Academy pulled away in the second half to defeat Knoxville Webb by the score of 47-37.  The score was tied seven times and there were three lead changes in this game.  Lipscomb Academy shot 37.1% from the field including zero of eight from the three point line.  The Mustangs connected on 21 of 27 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored seven points off eight Knoxville Webb turnovers.  Knoxville Webb shot 28.8% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Spartans connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored five points off 10 Lipscomb Academy turnovers.

 

Ella Grace Thompson led Lipscomb Academy with 12 points including eight of 12 free throws, six rebounds, and two steals.  Mallye Merritt added 11 points on five of five from the field and one of two from the charity stripe.  Abby Smith recorded eight points and nine rebounds.  Bella Shepard chipped in with seven points including five of five free throws, four rebounds, and two assists.

Christian Brothers defeated Lipscomb Academy by the score of 58-52.  Christian Brothers shot 46.8% from the field including three of nine from the three point line.  The Purple Wave connected on 11 of 21 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 10 Lipscomb Academy turnovers.  Lipscomb Academy shot 43.8% from the field including eight of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Mustangs connected on two of four free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored nine points off seven Christian Brothers turnovers.

 

Chandler Jackson led Christian Brothers with 18 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.  Hunter Pratt added 13 points including two three point baskets.  Michael Pepper recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  6-3 Sr. Austin Strother added nine points and 12 rebounds.

The score was tied 38-38 after three quarters but Knoxville Catholic pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Brentwood Academy 63-55.  The score was tied seven times and there were 12 lead changes in this game.  Knoxville Catholic shot 43.8% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line.  The Fighting Irish connected on 18 of 27 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 13 Brentwood Academy turnovers.  Brentwood Academy shot 42.1% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored five points off eight Knoxville Catholic turnovers.

 

B.J. Edwards led Knoxville Catholic with 23 points including nine of 13 free throws, 13 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Christopher Cain added 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Pressley Patterson recorded 11 points including two three point baskets.  Deondrea Lindsey chipped in with eight points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Trent McNair led Brentwood Academy with 13 points.  6-6 Fr. George Macintyre added 11 points and five rebounds.  Tyler Tanner recorded 11 points and seven assists.  Drey Moss chipped in with nine points, six rebounds, and two assists.  D.J. Senter pulled down 10 rebounds.

MTCS outscored CAK 22-7 in the second quarter on their way to a 65-47 victory.  MTCS shot 37.7% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  The Cougars connected on 19 of 26 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 16 CAK turnovers.  CAK shot 35.6% from the field including six of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Warriors connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored seven points off 10 MTCS turnovers.

 

Jailyn Banks led MTCS with 27 points including 13 of 16 free throws, 17 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Sydney Cooper added 11 points.  8th Grade Anna Clay Shirley recorded 10 points including three three point baskets and five rebounds.

 

Keira Leffew led CAK with 12 points, 10 rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Madison Jones added 12 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals.  Jr. Zoie Bourgoyne recorded eight points and three rebounds.

Webb School raced out to a 20-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 64-36 victory over Trinity Christian.  Webb School shot 48.9% from the field including seven of 14 from the three point line.  The Feet connected on 11 of 24 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 Trinity Christian turnovers.  Trinity Christian shot 21.4% from the field including two of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lions connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Webb turnovers. 

 

6-0 So. Bre’aria Cannon led Webb School with 23 points including six three point baskets.  Aalyah Del Rosario added 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.  6-1 Fr. Tatianna Stovall recorded nine points, 10 rebounds, two assists, four blocked shots, and two steals. 

 

Caden Vailes led Trinity Christian with 15 points.  Olivia Lee added 14 points including 10 of 13 free throws, 10 rebounds, and two assists.

Tecumseh (21-8) vs. Lafayette Central Catholic (24-5) Class A

 

Tecumseh coach Adam Lubbehusen started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Kaybree Oxley, 5-9 So. Jenna Donohoo, 5-11 Sr. Morgan Wilson, 5-5 Jr. Karsyn Flowers, and 5-9 Jr. Pennelope Lemen.  Lafayette Central Catholic coach Craig DeVault countered with 5-7 Jr. Kendal Rider, 5-8 Jr. Tori Thompson, 5-7 Sr. Karsyn Cherry, 5-8 Fr. Carley Barrett, and 5-9 Sr. Caitlin Dineen.

 

Tecumseh defeated Lafayette Central Catholic by the score of 60-53 for the championship in their first state final.  The score was tied 41-41 after three quarters but Tecumseh’s Karsyn Flowers nailed a three point basket to break the tie and trigger an 11-0 run that allowed Tecumseh to take control of the game.  The Braves missed some free throws down the stretch but Lafayette Central Catholic was never able to catch up.  Tecumseh did not have an easy path to their championship as they had to defeat #1 Waldron, #2 Lanesville, and finally #3 today Lafayette Central Catholic to earn the title.  The score was tied eight times and there were 11 lead changes in today’s game. 

 

Tecumseh shot 40.7% from the field including two of 10 from the three point line.  The Braves connected on 10 of 22 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Lafayette Central Catholic turnovers.  Tecumseh held a 40-26 advantage in points scored in the paint.  Lafayette Central Catholic shot 33.3% from the field including six of 28 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on seven of 11 free throws, and scored 17 points off 15 Tecumseh turnovers. 

 

Jenna Donohoo led Tecumseh with 29 points including five of eight free throws, 13 rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Kaybree Oxley added 19 points, 11 rebounds, four steals, and four blocked shots.  Karsyn Flowers recorded nine points including two three point baskets, eight assists, and two steals.

 

Carley Barrett added Lafayette Central Catholic with 17 points including five of seven free throws, four rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots, and four steals.  Kendal Rider added 14 points, six rebounds, and two assists.  Caitlin Dineen recorded 14 points including four three point baskets and four rebounds.  Tori Thompson chipped in with six points on two three point baskets, six rebounds, and two assists.  Karsyn Cherry added two points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

Amaya Collins, 6-0 So. Emma Sperry, 5-2 Sr. Cagney Utterback, and 5-5 Sr. Bailee Webb.

 

Forest Park captured their first championship with a 52-44 victory over Frankton.  There were six lead changes and two ties in this game.  Frankton had no answer for 6-1 Amber Tretter today as she recorded 22 points and 17 rebounds.  Forest Park shot 40.5% from the field including four of nine from the three point line.  The Rangers connected on 18 of 22 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and did not score off five Frankton turnovers.  Frankton shot 32% from the field including nine of 27 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored four points off 10 Forest Park turnovers.

 

Amber Tretter led Forest Park with 22 points including seven of eight free throws, 17 rebounds, three assists, six blocked shots, and two steals.  Carley Begle added seven points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Lydia Betz recorded seven points including four of six free throws.  Gabey Gray chipped in with five points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

 

Amaya Collins led Frankton with 15 points on five three point baskets.  Lauryn Bates added nine points on three three point baskets, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Bailee Webb recorded seven points.  Emma Sperry chipped in with six points and six rebounds.

Silver Creek coach Scott Schoen started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Kynidi Mason Striverson, 5-9 Sr. Emme Rooney, 6-0 Sr. Merideth Wilkinson, 5-6 Sr. Sydney Sierota, and 5-9 Sr. Lacey Tingle.  South Bend Washington coach Steve Reynolds countered with 6-3 Sr. Mila Reynolds, 6-0 Jr. Amiyah Reynolds, 6-3 Fr. Kira Reynolds, 5-7 Fr. Ryiah Wilson, and 5-8 Jr. Rashaunda Jones.

 

South Bend totally dominated tonight in a 93-35 victory over Silver Creek to gain a bit of revenge for their loss to Silver Creek in last year’s championship game.  To make matters worse for Silver Creek they lost Emme Rooney early in the game to an injury.  South Bend Washington shot 53% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line.  The Panthers connected on 16 of 25 free throws, pulled down 54 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 18 Silver Creek turnovers.  Silver Creek shot 24.5% from the field including one of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Dragons connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored six points off 14 South Bend Washington turnovers.

 

Mila Reynolds led South Bend Washington with 21 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots.  Kira Reynolds added 17 points, 24 rebounds (tourney record), two assists, and four blocked shots.  Rashaunda Jones recorded 17 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  5-11 Fr. Monique Mitchell chipped in with 14 points including two three point baskets.  Amirah Reynolds added eight points, four rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.

Noblesville outscore Franklin Community 29-15 in the second quarter on their way to a 76-52 victory.  Noblesville shot 54.7% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line.  The Millers connected on 13 of 15 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 16 Franklin Community turnovers.  Franklin Community shot A special thanks to the   29.4% from the field including six of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Grizzly Cubs connected on 16 of 19 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 17 Noblesville turnovers.

 

Ashlynn Shade led Noblesville with 31 points including five of five free throws, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Reagan Wilson added 12 points including two three point baskets, seven assists, and two steals.  5-9 So. Ava Shoemaker recorded 12 points including two three point baskets.  5-11 Jr. Dani Mendez chipped in with nine points including five of six free throws, eight rebounds, and two assists.  Kaitlyn Shoemaker added seven points, five rebounds, and three assists.

Vince Dawson led Great Crossing with 20 points including six of eight free throws, six rebounds, and four steals.  Junius Burrell added 20 points, four assists, and three steals.  Malachi Moreno recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots
