Madison Central vs. Bryan Station (Girls)

Madison Central coach Brad Lovely started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Gretchen Hammitt, 5-9 Sr. Taleya Todd, 5-11 Sr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-4 Fr. Eve Carter, and 5-5 Jr. Brianna Bierbaum.  Bryan Station coach Brian Hall countered with5-10 Sr. Rhiona Marshall, 5-5 Fr. Emily Gomez, 6-1 Jr. Olea Woodall, 5-2 Jr. Natoria Godoy, and 5-4 Jr. Escarlis Perez.

 

Bryan Station rallied from a 14 point deficit early in the third quarter to earn a 49-46 come-from-behind victory over Madison Central.  The score was tied three times and there were six lead changes in the game.  Bryan Station outscored 18-10 in the final quarter.  Free throw shooting doomed Bryan Station as they only connected on nine of 23 from the charity stripe including two of nine in the final quarter.

 

Bryan Station shot 35.6% from the field including three of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 39% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on nine of 23 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 17 Bryan Station turnovers.

 

Natoria Godoy led Bryan Station with 23 points including two three point baskets, five of six free throws, two rebounds, and two assists.  Olea Woodall added 11 points, 11 rebounds, and one blocked shot.  Rhiona Marshall recorded four points and five rebounds.

 

Brianna Bierbaum led Madison Central with 16 points including five three point baskets. Jekauri McKeithen added 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one blocked shot, and seven steals.  Taleya Todd recorded 11 points and three rebounds.  Eve Carter added six rebounds and eight assists.
