Cordia coach Josh Hurt started the following lineup: 6-8 Jr. Dylan Noble, 6-7 Sr. Malik Henry, 7-0 Jr. Oumar Keita, 5-11 Jr. Kareem McDonald, and 6-1 Fr. D’Andre Reed. Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-6 So. Michael Moreno, 6-2 Jr. Cooper Robb, 6-4 Sr. Cooper Watts, 6-0 So. Lorenzo Williams, and 6-1 So. Bryce Long.
Scott County’s defense recorded 14 steals, four blocked shots, and scored 36 points off 30 Cordia turnovers in a 73-38 victory. Scott County shot 45.1% from the field including six of 27 from the three point line. Scott County attempted 28 more shots (71-43) from the field than Cordia. The Cardinals connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and held a 16-0 advantage in bench scoring. Cordia shot 30.2% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lions connected on 10of 21 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored nine points off 13 Scott County turnovers.
Michael Moreno led Scott County with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists. Cooper Robb added 13 points, seven assists, and four steals. Cooper Watts recorded 12 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.
Kareem McDonald led Cordia with 19 points including two three point baskets and four steals. Oumar Keita added nine points, 18 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Malik Henry recorded eight points and eight rebounds.
