Franklin County defeated Woodford County tonight by a score of 68-33.  Franklin County shot 52.3% from the field including nine of 23 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and committed eight turnovers.  Woodford County shot 30.1% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Yellow Jackets connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and committed 19 turnovers.

5-8 Sr. Princess Stewart led Franklin County with 12 points, three rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  5-10 Sr. Rebecca Cook added 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  5-4 8^th Grade Brooklynn Miles recorded nine points.  5-6 Sr. Savannah Courtney chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.  5-5 Jr. Kindall Talley added five points, four rebounds, and five assists.

Southwestern pulled away in the second half to defeat Wayne County by a score of 57-43.  Southwestern shot 42% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Warriors connected on 21 of 31 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Wayne County turnovers.  Wayne County shot 35% from the field including one of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored four points off eight Southwestern turnovers.

Eastern Kentucky entered today in a do-or-die situation and came through with a 78-65 victory over Tennessee Tech to earn a berth in the Ohio Valley Conference.  Tennessee Tech led by 10 early in the game but Eastern Kentucky connected on five three point baskets in the first quarter to take a 23-21 first quarter lead.

Eastern Kentucky University shot 56.9% from the field including 11 of 19 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Tennessee Tech turnovers.  Tennessee Tech shot 42.1% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Alexus Cooper led Eastern Kentucky University with 26 points including eight three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists.  Shavontae Naylor added 18 points and four rebounds.  Jalen O’Bannon recorded 15 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Mariah Massengill recorded a double-double with 10 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists.

Eastern Kentucky University held on down the stretch to defeat Tennessee Tech University by a score of 75-71.  Eastern Kentucky relied heavily on Nick Mayo tonight who recorded two personal milestones.  Mayo scored a career high of 31 points and also joined the 1,000 point club tonight as he finished the game with 1,025 career points.  Eastern Kentucky’s only senior Isaac McGlone finished his 72^nd win as a Colonel.

Eastern Kentucky shot 49.1% from the field including eight of 23 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Tennessee Tech turnovers.  Tennessee Tech shot 43.3% from the field including eight of 23 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Tennessee Tech held an 18-8 advantage in second chance points.

Isaiah Cozart, 5-10 Jr. Jacori Miller, and 5-10 Jr. Isaiah Minter.  Madison Southern coach Shane Buttry countered with 6-2 Sr. Michael Jefferson, 6-2 Sr. Bryar Rose, 6-1 Sr. Noah Marshall, 5-9 Jr. Shawn Short, and 5-11 Sr. Caleb Miller.

Madison Southern ended Madison Central’s 21 year stranglehold on the district title as they defeated the Indians by a score of 44-33.  Madison Southern controlled the pace of the game only attempting 26 shots from the field but connecting on 50% of their attempts and not allowing Madison Central to gain any effective rhythm on offense.  Madison Central’s promising big man Isaiah Cozart pulled down nine rebounds and blocked two shots but never got in the flow of the offense as he only attempted one shot.

Madison Southern shot 50% from the field including six of 12 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 12 of 27 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 29.3% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored six points off nine Madison Southern turnovers.

Bryar Rose led Madison Southern with 13 points including two three three point baskets.  Shawn Short added 11 points including two three point baskets.  Caleb Miller chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.  Michael Jefferson recorded seven points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
