Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-11 So. Grace Berger, 5-7 So. Kia Sivils, 5-10 Sr. Lydia Taylor, 5-4 Fr. Ashlee Harris, and 5-5 So. Kiki Samsel. Mercer County coach Chris Souder countered with 5-9 So. Faith Lake, 5-8 Jr. Lyric Houston, 6-1 So. Emma Souder, 5-8 So. Seygan Robbins, and 5-7 So. Lexy Lake.
Sacred Heart held a 21-6 advantage in second chance points and captured a 68-62 victory in a thriller in Harrodsburg. There were 14 lead changes and six ties in this game. Sacred Heart shot 40% from the field including 11 of 23 from the three point line. The Valkyries connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 12 Mercer County turnovers. Mercer County shot 37.9% from the field including seven of 23 from beyond the arc. The Titans connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 17 Sacred Heart turnovers.
Grace Berger led Sacred Heart with 21 points including three three point baskets and 11 rebounds. Kiki Samsel also scored 21 points including five three point baskets. 5-9 So. Natalie Fichter added 10 points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots. Ashlee Harris recorded seven points, six rebounds, eight assists, and four steals. Kia Sivils added six points and 10 rebounds.
Lyric Houston led Mercer County with 19 points, six rebounds, and four steals. Emma Souder added 15 points, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots. Faith Lake chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.
