Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-11 So. Grace Berger, 5-7 So. Kia Sivils, 5-10 Sr. Lydia Taylor, 5-4 Fr. Ashlee Harris, and 5-5 So. Kiki Samsel.  Highlands coach Jaime Richey countered with 5-7 Sr. Brianna Adler, 5-6 Sr. Izzy Schultz, 6-2 Sr. McKenzie Leigh, 5-5 Fr. Zoie Barth, and 5-5 Jr. Macy Gabbard.

 

Kiki Samsel scored on a driving basket on an out-of-bounds play with 2.6 seconds to give Sacred Heart a 53-52 victory over Highlands.  There were six lead changes and six ties in this game.  Sacred Heart shot 50% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 Highlands turnovers.  Highlands shot 34.2% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Bluebirds connected on 22 of 26 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 15 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

Grace Berger led Sacred Heart with 16 points.  Ashlee Harris added 13 points including two three point baskets.  Natalie Fichter recorded nine points and seven rebounds.  Kiki Samsel also scored nine points including two three point baskets and four steals.

 

Zoie Barth led Highlands with 14 points including eight of eight free throws.  McKenzie Leigh added eight points and eight rebounds.  Brianna Adler and Chloe Jansen each recorded eight points.
