Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-4 So. Zan Payne, 6-3 Jr. Luke Johnson, 6-5 Jr. Peter Whitman, 6-0 Sr. Donovan Morris, and 6-1 Sr. JJ Ogbogu.  Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-6 Fr. Michael Moreno, 6-1 So. Cooper Robb, 6-4 Jr. Cooper Watts, 6-1 Fr. Bryce Long, and 6-1 Fr. Glenn Covington.

 

Scott County defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 70-59.  Scott County shot 46.7% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored four points off six Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 35.9% from the field including three of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 10 of 20 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 16 Scott County turnovers.

 

Michael Moreno led Scott County with 18 points, 17 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  6-5 Sr. Clem Damron added 16 points and seven rebounds.  Cooper Watts recorded 14 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocked shots. 

 

Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 16 points and 12 rebounds.  Zan Payne added 12 points and 10 rebounds.  JJ Ogbogu recorded 12 points and six rebounds.

Jakson Baker, 6-7 Sr. Daniel Coldiron, 6-1 Jr. Logan Brett, and 6-0 Sr. Trey Blevins.  (6-2 Sr. Corey Stearns unable to play tonight-injury).  Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-1 Sr. William Watkins, 6-0 Sr. Harrison Lane, 6-6 Sr. Ross Jenkins, 5-9 Sr. TJ Downey, and 5-9 Sr. Jaelin Jenkins.

 

Lafayette led 45-43 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for an 84-70 victory over Wayne County.  There were five lead changes and four ties in the game.  Lafayette shot 46.3% from the field including 10 of 30 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 22 Wayne County turnovers.  Wayne County shot 41.4% from the field including five of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 17 of 23 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 15 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Ross Jenkins led Lafayette with 24 points and 14 rebounds.  5-10 So. Eric Powell added 14 points including four three point baskets.  Jaelin Jenkins and Harrison Lane chipped in with 13 and 10 points respectively.

 

Daniel Coldiron led Wayne County with 15 points including two three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Trey Blevins also scored 15 points, five assists, and four steals.  Jakson Baker recorded 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Nick Gillespie chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds.

Savannah Gregory led Allen County-Scottsville with 23 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.  5-11 Fr. Mason Towery added 14 points and Jordan Brooks recorded 11 points.  Rae Ann Stafford added nine points on three three point baskets and Sarah Sutton recorded five points, nine rebounds, and five assists.

Paul Laurence Dunbar eked out a 63-62 road victory over Lexington Catholic tonight.  There were seven lead changes and nine ties in this game.  LexCath trailed 63-62 with 38 seconds left in the game with JJ Ogbogu at the free throw line.  Ogbogu missed both free throws bur the Knight had one last chance but Donovan Morris’ last second shot was partially blocked.

 

Dunbar shot 49.1% from the field including three of nine from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 17 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 41.4% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 18 Dunbar turnovers.

 

Darius Williams led Dunbar with 31 points including two three point baskets and three steals.  Taveion Hollingsworth added 18 points and seven rebounds.

 

Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 25 points.  Donovan Morris added 20 points including three three point baskets.  Zan Payne recorded nine points and nine rebounds.

Scott County trailed 34-29 at halftime but shot 73.9% from the field in the second half to rally for a 74-65 victory over Corbin.  Scott County shot 56.9% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 12 of 21 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Corbin turnovers.  Corbin shot 51.2% from the field including nine of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Redhounds connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Scott County turnovers.

 

Michael Moreno led a balanced Scott County scoring attack with 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Bryce Long added 16 points including three three point baskets.  Cooper Watts recorded 15 points, eight rebounds, three blocked shots, and four steals.  Cooper Robb chipped in with 12 points.  6-5 Sr. Clem Damron also reached double figures with 10 points and pulled down six rebounds.

 

Andrew Taylor led Corbin with 26 points including five three point baskets and nine of 12 free throws, pulled down six rebounds, and dished out five assists.  Chase Sanders added 16 points including two three point baskets.  Zach Maguet recorded 12 points.

Lafayette scored 43 points off 31 Grant County, recorded 22 steals and three blocked shots in a 96-54 victory over Grant County.  Lafayette shot 44.4% from the field including 12 of 27 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 24 of 32 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and held a 51-27 advantage in bench points.  Grant County shot 47.5% from the field including four of nine from beyond the arc.  The Braves connected on 12 of 21 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.
