Danville coach Judie Mason started the following lineup: 5-5 Jr. Cameron McPherson, 5-4 Jr. Ne Ne Chenault, 5-4 Fr. Alvia Walker, 5-5 Sr. Essence Grey, and 5-6 Sr. Laken Grey.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-0 Sr. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 Jr. Dee Givens, 6-4 Jr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-6 Sr. Megumi Nagahiro, and 5-8 Sr. Ken’yale Demus.

The much taller Lafayette Lady Generals held a 50-29 advantage in rebounds and a 24-8 advantage in second chance points in a 71-54 victory over Danville tonight.  Lafayette shot 46.7% from the field including two of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on13 of 26 free throws, pulled down 50 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 23 Danville turnovers.  Danville shot 32.7% from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Admirals connected on 15 of 26 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 28 Lafayette turnovers.

Dee Givens led Lafayette with 19 points, nine rebounds, and five steals.  Ken’yale Demus added 13 points.  Ashanti Thomas recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Sarah Cooley added nine points and 15 rebounds.  5-11 Fr. Kiara Pankins chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.

Cameron McPherson led Danville with 20 points including two three point baskets.  Laken Grey added 17 points and seven rebounds.  Essence Grey recorded nine points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
