Butler coach Larry Just started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Aareon Smith, 5-10 Jr. Danielle Lawrence, 5-10 So. Miah Casey, 5-8 Sr. Brooke Pearson, and 5-9 Sr. Alexis Stallard.  Mercy Academy coach Mark Evans countered with 5-10 Sr. Morgan Doherty, 5-10 So. Sarah Parr, 6-0 So. Malerie Martin, 5-7 Sr. Kayla Richardson, and 5-8 Sr. Whitney Hartlage.

Butler raced out to a 35-12 halftime lead on their way to a 59-47 victory over Mercy Academy.  Butler shot 42.2% from the field including two of seven from the three point line.  The Bearettes connected on 19 of 30 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 19 Mercy turnovers.  Mercy shot 28.2% from the field including four of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on 17 of 24 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored five points off 17 Butler turnovers.

Danielle Lawrence led Butler with 17 points and five rebounds.  5-9 Fr. Micaiah Bowden added 10 points.  Aareon Smith and Miah Casey pulled down eight and seven rebounds respectively.

Kayla Richardson led Mercy with 13 points and five rebounds.  Whitney Hartlage and Malerie Martin added nine and eight points respectively.  Sarah Parr pulled down six rebounds.
