Scene 9 *Avalanche*

(Here we are in the scene with Ash and Tamera, coming down the ski hill on the Lapras. They reach the bottom of the hill and Lapras pants from the ride as Ash and Tamera climb off him)

Tamera: (turns to Ash) Must be weird to be here in Utah, eh?

Ash: (looking around in astonishment) WOW! (Lifts Pikachu from his shoulder to reveal it to him as well) Isn’t this amazing, Pikachu?

Pikachu: (in pokemon language) WOW!

Tamera: (watches Ash as she approaches Lapras to pat the top of his head) Thanks for the help.

(Lapras nuzzles Tamera with affection and also lack of warmth. Soon everyone begins to feel it and Ash pulls his jacket more around him. Tamera begins rubbing her arms and Pikachu curls in a ball. Ash turns to face Tamera)

Ash: Pretty cold, huh?

Tamera: Just a little, but we shouldn’t be here long. Somehow we’ll find the others… (her teeth begin to chatter) Hopefully they are all somewhere a lot warmer.

(Ash pulls off his jacket and quickly throws it over Tamera’s shoulders)

Ash: (blushing) There. Good, right?

Tamera: (surprised by the offer hugs Ash) Thank you. (pulls back) But what about you?

Ash: (courageously) Don’t worry about me, I’m tough I can handle this.

(Tamera laughs a little until there is a ruble felt around them like the sound of an earthquake. Both freeze because of it and the pokemon whimper)

Tamera: We have to get out of here.

Ash: Just stay still and quiet. (pulls out his pokeball to pull Pikachu into it) Okay lets get out of here while we still have the time.

(Ash climbs up onto Lapras’s back first, but the moment Tamera attempts the climb, the rumble is heard again and all we see is a wall of snow, coming straight for them. The wall hits Tamera, just as Ash grabs her hand and we hear her scream of terror)

Ash: (forcing her up) Come on! We’ll make it, I have a plan. (Effortful, but fruitless, he can’t seem to pull Tamera out of the snow. Immediately, he forces a pokeball out of his pocket, but just as he is about to call, a heavy snow wave swallows them all. There is a long pause of silence, that is until we see a dragon pokemon named Charizard bust through the snow drift. He exhales flames throughout the snow, melting it and soon they are all floating in water. Through the water, Ash comes up holding Tamera in one arm while Lapras finds his way to the surface)

Ash: This is C… cold… (he pulls Tamera up onto the Lapras and tries to wake her, by patting her cheeks and calling to her. With courage, he leans down to breathe into her, before pumping her stomach. In long moments, she jerks up in a coughing spasm and releases the water within her) Tamera?

Tamera: (leans back against Ash and pulls the jacket closer around her) It’s almost over, right? (closes her eyes while still coughing)

Ash: I hope so. There’s only so much any of us can take.

(There is a cut of the group than a fade out- scene closes)
