ABOUT LEARNING DISCOVERIES PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES
Learning Discoveries Psychological Services (LDPS)
was established by Rosemary Boon, psychologist, in 1991 to provide alternative and complementary interventions to medication for the amelioration of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD?HD) and associated comorbid (coexisting) disorders, and remedial teaching to children, adolescents and adults with learning difficulties. To this end, Rosemary continues to travel and study extensively gathering information and gaining qualifications in techniques and interventions from around the globe to provide the most comprehensive assessment and remedial system for those with learning difficulties in Australia today. She has an international reputation as an educational psychologist, teacher and trainer.
Rosemary is currently past-president (an advisory role) of the Australia Pacific Rim Chapter of The International Society of Neuronal Regulation, an organisation of professionals committed to continuing education and excellence in the field of neurofeedback. She is also an associate member of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine.
The teaching methods and programmes used are based on the latest research from cognitive psychology and brain studies, blended in a unique way to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs. In recognition of the gut-brain connection in developmental, learning and emotional disorders, Rosemary has recently qualified as a nutritionist.
The Pyramid of Development, Learning & Wellbeing is the basis for all interventions aimed at improving brain function. Since "the brain is the hardware of the soul", it needs care and feeding for optimum function and self-regulation.
LDPS offers multi-disciplinary, "state of the art", non-invasive, drug -free strategies for children and adults with learning, behavioural and emotional disorders within a nurturing, integrative, biomedical framework encompassing learning, healing and personal growth, thus empowering those with these difficulties to lead fulfilling lives.
All the practitioners at LDPS are qualified, experienced and dedicated to delivering services that enhance quality of life and empower individuals with disabilities to become their own best advocates.

In reference to the links of pages which follow, please understand that as each individual is just that - unique in terms of their genetics, biochemistry and metabolism, there can be no 'magic bullet' or panacea - and often, several disorders may coexist. As such, programmes are devised on an individual basis. Information was accurate at the time of publishing and will be updated as new discoveries come to light and, as time allows…..
Problems we can assist with include:-
There are no magic cures for ADD. However, it can be managed.
Medication alone is inadequate to treat all the comorbidities (accompanying deficits) of the disorder. The treatment of ADD is 90% education. For each person directly affected by ADD there are many more: family, friends and peers; employers and citizens- who all suffer emotionally and financially because of the condition.
Services offered comprise a wholistic approach in the amelioration of the difficulties presented, whereby all factors and function of the human system are assessed and treated as a whole, so that the system can in turn become balanced and whole.
These factors include diet, and life style -with particular emphasis on vitamin and mineral uptake, physical and emotional trauma, including genetic, structural, metabolic and neuropsychological factors; functional factors such as vestibular, ocular motor function, auditory and visual processing, motor co-ordination, balance, integration of primitive reflexes and developmental and academic skills.
The aim and what we can help with:-
The Learning Pyramid is the model used. It has been found that much time, effort and energy is wasted when the basic order of the model is not followed.
