USUI SHIKI RYOHO
Rei-ki
LIFE ENERGY RENEWAL

Healing Through The Hands
The essence of Rei-ki is pure unconditional Love

Benefits of Rei-ki

Many benefits are experienced in receiving Rei-ki.

During the treatment, most people experience a gentle warmth or tingling coming from the practitioner’s hands. The Rei-ki energy always goes to where you need it most. A one hour Rei-ki treatment is equivalent to three to four hours refreshing sleep. In this, Rei-ki is a natural form of stress relief.

It is important to realise that you can continue to receive any other form of medical treatment or therapy, and still receive Rei-ki to enhance your body’s natural healing abilities.

Some of the Benefits of experiencing Rei-ki are:-

 Deep Relaxation

Lowering of heart rate and blood pressure

Enhancement of the body’s immune system

 Increased vitality

Improves the performance of the circulatory, lymphatic and endocrine systems

brainwave pattern slows down to the meditational level of 8-10 Hz (alpha) - the natural rhythm of the Universe.

Rei-ki has been demonstrated on medical monitoring equipment to enhance uptake of oxygen in the haemoglobin by up to 30 per cent.

Whilst Rei-ki is generally experienced in treatment as calming and comforting, under some circumstances, Rei-ki can trigger a reaction or spontaneous healing crisis, by rapid release of stored toxins, as in homoeopathy and other natural therapies.

This is a positive sign to undertake more Rei-ki until the temporary physical response passes.

Recognition and Philosophy

Rei-ki is gaining acceptance world wide and is being practiced by more and more people around the globe because it is both safe and gentle, as well as being powerful and subtle.

Rei-ki is neither a cult, a religion or a belief system. You don’t have to believe in Reiki to receive Reiki’s benefits.

More and more people involved in health care now believe that treating the physical body without healing other aspects of the self – the mental, emotional and Spiritual – is like putting sticking plaster on a burst tyre. It helps for a while, but it does not last.

Your body isn’t simply a machine, but a conscious energy system. Whenever it develops a form of illness, it is trying to bring something to your attention. The message may be that something isn’t quite right in your life, or that you are going in the wrong direction, or that you are ignoring important lessons to be learned.

Most people pay no attention to this ‘body language’ simply because they are unaware of it. And most people react to sickness by trying to get rid of the symptoms as quickly as possible with medical intervention – and there is nothing wrong with this, but if you want your body to be healed you also need to understand why you are ill. Obviously there are physical causes for illness, such as viruses and bacteria, but not everyone who is exposed to a particular virus or bacterium actually ‘catches’ the illness. Similarly, not everyone who is exposed to a carcinogenic agent actually develops cancer, nor do all people with a ‘genetic’ predisposition to a disease suffer from it.

So why do we become ill? Illness or disease is created by the body -–and the body is simply a part of our consciousness. In other words we create our own ill health.

The Chinese and Greeks were probably the first to chronicle the link between physical ill health and mental ‘dis-ease’ several thousand years ago, but the mind/body connection has been a part of healing theories in almost every civilisation throughout history. The study of psychology and more recently of psycho-neuro-immunology has added to our understanding of the complex links between our mental and emotional state and our physical condition.

If we are able to create our illness, then we must be able to create health. Reiki can be a powerful tool in this process. But ‘healing’ is not the same as ‘curing’. Curing means to completely eradicate the illness or dis-ease, whereas healing occurs on many different levels.

Negative thoughts and feelings disrupt the harmonious flow of energy – whether this is done consciously or unconsciously.

Rei-ki helps to break through these blockages, it clears and balances the energy field, to enhance and mobilise the immune system into positive action.

It is important not to have fixed expectations about the outcome of receiving Rei-ki. Because Reiki works holistically, it will flow through you to unblock the causative level of ‘dis-ease’. If you are willing to receive

Rei-ki, healing will take place.

Ultimately, if you want the healing to be permanent, you will have to take responsibility for healing the cause. This may mean a change in lifestyle, in the home or career. It may mean changing how you think or the way you relate to another.

Either way, Rei-ki can help you adjust due to the deep relaxation and focussed, centeredness experienced during treatment.
