Before

William looked at the people passing by. *Little fleas, they are. Nothing more, nothing less.* The sun had gone down a little while ago, which meant that he could leave his job and go home. Leaving work was fine, but now he ahd to go home, home which held screaming siblings, shouting parents, and an annoyingly sweet neighbor. He decided to risk a whipping and sit at a side-street cafe for a few hours. *Might as well try to save my sanity, before going to that looney bin.* William watched the people.

He enjoyed that, watching people. It surprised him, how many people would go on with their every day routine, and not notice the world around them. They were ignorant. Ignorant little blokes. Suddenly, his gaze held still. He spotted an angel. She had long, brown hair and the most beautiful face. Her eyes danced happily from one store to another. Then, William saw her companion. He was gripping her arm tightly, making sure that the woman would not wander away. As the couple came closer, William heard what they were saying.

"But, Daddy! I saw Edith! She wants me to get her! Don't you remember how you took Edith away the first time? You tore her apart! She'll forgive you though, if you go and get her for me! The moon and the stars, they tell me how much they want her. Please Angel?"

"Dru, honey, you can't have her. You need to eat. All you do all day is complain about how Edith left. Complain, complain, complain. I'm getting sick of it, Dru, I really am." The woman whimpered and William stood up. He had had enough. He walked over to the couple and grabbed the man's arm.

"The lady, here, doesn't want to go that way. Why don't you let go of her and let her be?"

The man looked at William, surprised, then laughed. "Dru, why don't you have fun with this young man. I'm sure he'll make a tasty treat." William did not understand what the man meant, but was delighted when "Dru" walked over to him and took his arm.

"Daddy, he's special. Can I have him? Just for me? He can take me to the stars!" She swung around on William's arm a few times before coming to a stop. The man laughed agian and nodded. "Of course, Drusilla, just get home before the sun comes up."

With that he walked off, leaving William and Dru to each other.

"Ooo! I'm a happy little girl now! Can I be your princess? Then, we can dance together on the sky!" Dru squealed with glee before taking William's arm again. *Okay, so she's a bit not-there. But, I mean! Just look at her!*

"Of course you can be my princess. My name's William. What's yours pet?" William walked her over to the cafe so they could talk.

"I'm Drusilla. That was my mum's name. Long ago. Before Angel came. He's my daddy, he is. But you, your my prince and I'm your princess!" she explained. William laughed at her exuberance.

"Drusilla, pet, I will take you to the moon one day. I will." Drusilla calmed down at William's revealation.

"The moon? We talk, the moon and I. I'd love to go to the moon. You and I, we can dance together with the moon. Not Angel. He won't dance with me. He says that the moon lies. Grrrrr, he can be a bad daddy, sometimes." she paused, grasping William's arm, and stood up. "Take me to see Edith. Please? I haven't seen her since, since she went away. I miss her so. So much, William, please let me see her. She's been calling to me, calling so often. Come, let's go find her." Drusilla pulled William out to the street and they walked until they reached a doll shop. "There she is!! Take me to see her! Take me, then we can go to the moon!" William laughed again, but eager to please his "princess" he walked to the shop.

"Pet, it's closed for the night. If you'd like, tomarrow morning we can go." he reasoned. Drusilla gasped in surprise.

"I can't be in the sun. I don't like it. I need Edith now! Miss Edith calls, ever so softly, she calls." Drusilla sank to the ground, looking as if she were about to cry.

"Don't fret, pet. I'll get Edith, I'll get her. Just point ut which one she is." When Drusilla pointed to a doll with blonde hair in the window, William smiled. *It won't be to hard to get her the doll. I think that I will take Dru to the moon. I'll take her wherever she wants to go.*

William walked over to the shop and broke the window. He then reached in and took out the doll. He looked down at Dru, who was waiting expectantly. He handed her the doll and she squealed again in delight.

"William, Miss Edith asks me to make you part of my family. Would you like that? To be part of the family?" Dru looked up at William again. hope flooding her eyes.

"I'd love to, pet. Anything to be with you." *I'm going to get my backside tanned off once I get home. But every moment with her, it will be worth it.*

Drusilla stood up and took William's hand. "I'll take you to daddy, he'll make you one of us." She led William down the road until they reached an abandoned shack.

"Let me go first, daddy might be hungry, but we want to keep you safe until it is time." she said this as if she were talking about the weather. Dru went in first, calling out, "Daddy? Daddy, I've brought us family." William walked behind Dru until they reached the bedroom. Inside, "Angel" was laying on the bed, staring at the ceiling. He looked up slowly.

"Does he want to be family, Dru? And do you really want him?" He asked. Dru nodded and held up Miss Edith.

"Miss Edith told me she wants him here too. He cares about me, so he can join." Angel smiled and walked over to William. He reached out and caressed William's neck.

*If this bloke doesn't get his hands off me in one-*

Angel brought his head down to William's neck and bit. It felt like heaven at first, once you got beyond the pain. But then he collapsed, to weak to hold himself up. *What's happening?* Angel continued to drink, then withdrew. He bit his wrist and held it to William's mouth. William drank, slowly at first, then faster and faster. He suddenly stopped, his body wracked with pain. Sonehow, he heard Dru's voice.

"Will he be all right? He's shaking, and ohhh, Miss Edith feels pain. Can I hold him?"

"Sure, Dru. He'll be all right soon, he just has to come over."

*Pain! So much pain.* William felt Drusilla lifting his head and brushing his hair from his eyes. "Shhhhhh," she cooed. Slowly, the pain faided from William. He looked up at Dru and smiled.

"I'm hungry, luv. What should we eat?" William smiled an evil smile as Angel explained what he now was.

*This is going to be a ball.*
