The most disturbing new addition to this is a "whole screen" version of a pop-up. If you click to go anywhere on my site, and it suddenly turns into something very different, this is just one of these "whole screen" pop-ups. Leila

Very Small Lower-Case x-ish Stories Go to the bathroom with a lit candle. Do not turn on the lights. Stand in front of the mirror and look into it, holding the candle. Close your eyes and solemnly chant: "All X-Files characters are the property of Chris Carter, 1013 Productions, and Fox Studios." Say this seven times. When you open your eyes, a ghost will appear in the mirror and tell you to hush up. You better!
| Very Small Lower-Case x-ish Stories #1: After the Aliens removed Dana's eggs, implanted her with a microchip, gave her cancer, killed her sister and daughter, and piled on seven years of lousy Performance Reviews, they finally get it into their big bulging veiny noggins that the "stick" approach ain't workin'. Duh. Shape-Shifter Guy is assigned to approach her with the job offer of Chief Resident of "the largest Oby-Gyn clinic in this quadrant of the Galaxy." Scully takes it without giving Humanity so much as a backward look. She and Shape-Shifter soon become an on-board "item" after Scully learns that not only does he shift shape, but size as well. They marry, choosing to be Mr. and Mrs. Ward Cleaver. Dana is able, because of her position, to get some eggs back, but, as they plan their family, Dana reveals her long-cherished dream of having a nice house in the suburbs with a big yard, and taking Sunday drives in the family station wagon with a Collie named Champ. They settle on Montclair, N.J., as the place to set up a crafted semblance of housekeeping as often as their busy schedules allow. They fulfill the American dream with 4.2 children. The first two children began as one egg.The second 2.2 mass began as one egg. "Oh, admittedly, at first, little MariAnBeth is tough to get used to looking at," chirps a beaming Dana. "But, really, Ward- (casts a loving look to Shape-Shifter, who, after entering the room as Golf Pro Tiger Woods and putting his golf bag in the hall closet, composes himself,)-and I can't get enough of her! "She's!" "Swell!" chime in little "wider-than-she-is-tall" MariAnBeth's two older twin brothers, Rip and Gore, age 8, who at this moment look like Penn and Teller. "Arf!" says Champ, who just looks like a dumb dog.
| Very Small Lower-Case x-ish Stories #2a: Agents Mulder and Scully were on their way back from aiding the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. It seems an aging Bigfoot was terrorizing nurseries and day care centers in British Columbia. Because he'd long ago lost his teeth, the gummed primate was eating babies but first forcing them through a kitchen tool until they were mushy enough to eat. "It was straining 400 infants a day in Vancouver!" exclaimed Mulder to his boss in a phone report.
| Very Small Lower-Case x-ish Stories #2b Agents Mulder and Scully were on the way back from assisting the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in British Columbia (see previous x-ISH story #2a,) when they were ordered by their boss, Assistant Director Skinner, to make a pick-up run at Area 51. They stopped for a sleepover in Las Vegas. During the night a sinister Las Vegas ooze-The Golden Ooze-oozed in under the motel room door and attacked Mulder. It covered him. He sparkled. Like a Golden Girl. But not as dead. Yet. The slime begins to layer itself in certain areas-the groin, the nipples, the earlobes, and the feet, building itself up like coral into the beginnings of a gaudy costume. He and Scully stumble into Asst. Dir. Skinner's office, Mulder clutching his trenchcoat and hat tightly to keep the feather fans under wraps. "It was like this, Sir," begins Scully. "Agent Mulder came to my motel room to use my Magic Fingers. It was completely innocent. Then, later on... well, he was goo-ed." "Are you telling me that Agent Mulder was...good?" asks a shocked but perversely interested Asst. Dir. Skinner. He exchanges a leer with The Cigarette Smoking Man, who is hanging from a silky thread near a web in the darkest corner. "No! He was goo-ed." explains Scully. "Look!" she says, pulling off the hat and coat. A dazzling Mulder preens his tailfeathers. "There's something not quite right about the chin and mouth." says Asst. Dir. Skinner. "And the Adam's Apple is too big," The Cigarette Smoking Man adds. He is immediately put into isolation, of course. "Now, see here!" Asst. Dir. Skinner rumbles, pacing at the door to the isolation room. "Black Oil, Green Pus, Shooting, Torching, Gutting- these are all tough, masculine ways to be offed. So! these scummy aliens want to subject us to Cross-Dressing? I don't THINK so." Skinner's eyes narrow to slits. The glistening plaque has now crept into the most intimate parts of Mulder's body. Sometimes Scully has to touch Mulder in those sensitive areas. "Tee hee hee!" giggles Mulder, his laugh more effeminate with each invasive probe.
| Very Small Lower-Case x-ish Stories: #3 "I am exHAUSTed," says Scully, slumping in her office chair on a beautiful fall morning."I keep having the most awful dreams..." Mulder looks up from mounting pretty leaves in a scrapbook. (He is in remission from the Golden Ooze-see previous x-ish story,- but still has some peculiar moments.) "Nightmares? About what?" "I've been getting them once a week for the past six years, and in the summers, some of the ones I had earlier recurred. They all have the same guy though. He keeps killing the people I love. First my dad, then my sister, then my daughter...last night, I dreamed he was coming for you!" Scully shudders. She gets up and begins to pace nervously. The door bursts open and a tall-ish graying-blonde-haired man about forty rushes in. He brandishes a blunt object in his fist. Scully whirls around and lands a karate kick to him, amidships, then jumps him. The blunt object caroms into a corner. They land in front of Mulder's desk. She cuffs him. When the police arrive, they find that the blunt object is actually a thick manuscript, rolled up. Further investigation reveals it to be a script for television. Before he is led away, the man fixes an electric gaze on Scully. She freezes like a deer in the headlights. With his handcuffed hands, he makes a sweeping gesture over both agents, and sneers: "You can't escape me! You've signed on for season seven, and you'll do it!" He laughs hideously as he is led away. His laughter echoes all the way down the corridor. Scully shudders. Mulder carefully picks up some leaves that got blown off his desk, what with everyone kicking and stuff.
