Rothschilds Giraffe in
Auckland Zoo
The Zoo has one male Rothschilds Giraffe
  • Zabulu. Born in 1998 at Orana Wildlife Park.

Auckland Zoos three females are not Rothschilds.

  • Kiri
  • Kay
  • Rukiya

Two of Aucklands giraffes are pregnant. The female , Kiri is definately so while Kay is thought ot be so. The births are expected in December 2002.
Both females have given birth to healthy male calves. Kiri on the 27th November 2002 and Kay on the 4th December 2002.
