begins with some clips surrounding L&L"s return: The edit then opens in diner in Canada on Halloween, Luke & Lucky scare Laura with their Halloween costumes. Lucky rides off on his bike, famous scene as Luke and Laura dance together in the diner to Bryan Ferry's "Will You Love Me Tomorrow. A friend of Luke's starts up Luke's truck and it blows up. L&L realize Frank Smith's men have once again caught up with them and its time to run. Laura is terrified for Lucky's safety. Luke convinces her Lucky is safer traveling to Port Charles alone than being with them and that Lucky knows what to do. Meanwhile, Lucky arrives home and hears the message in code to run on the answering machine. He calmly gets the money out of the freezer, his packed backpack out of the close and leaves. L&L watch in horror as their friend dies in the truck fire. L&L escape by jumping into a box car on a train heading out of town. On a flight to Chicago, Lucky beats the flight attendant at gin rummy and wins another sundae. L&L, Laura is heartbroken over leaving her home and friends again. She tells Luke she doesn't want to run anymore. Luke agrees that it is time to resolve things with Frank Smith one way or the other. L&L share a romantic moment in the box car. At the train depot, two security guards stop them, they pretend to be photographers. Meanwhile, Lucky is continuing his journey, he leaves a letter for his parents under a fictious name. L&L pickup a pile of cash and new identities out of a hidden safe deposit box. The goons report back that the Spencer's made it out of Canada, they suspect they are headed to PC. Lucky takes a bus to PC, we see him travel through the streets of PC on foot. Finally he sees a sign "Kelly's diner" two blocks ahead. L&L are relieved to find the message from Lucky waiting for them in Chicago that Lucky is safely on his way. Lucky arrives in PC, he walks into Kelly's and introduces himself to Ruby (he is sooo cute!). He tells Ruby all, that no one can know that he is in PC except Bobbie. When the Chicago airport is shut down from a strike, L&L hit the road in a car. When a problem with the muffler arises, Laura is able to assist with the repairs with the help of the volumnous carpet bag of hers. Laura gets suddenly quiet as she gets a feeling something is wrong with Lucky. Lucky is being introduced to Jagger and two goons break through the doors of Kelly's. Jagger fights them off and Lucky is able to escape. Pure Soap - Michael Logan on the high ratings for GH since the return of L&L. Bobbie is shocked to arrive and find the damage at Kelly's. Ruby tells her about Lucky being in PC and L&L are on their way. Lucky sleeps outside by the river, next am we see him walk by the river (beautiful location shot). L&L steal a plan and start their flight home to PC. Lucky hides out in a movie theatre watching a scary movie, the little boy next to him jumps during a scary part, its Sly Eckert. They introduce themselves and decide to watch the movie again. L&L put the plane on autopilot and make love. As they snuggle afterwards, the plane starts to sputter and they realize its out of gas. Luke straps them both into parachutes, Laura is not liking the idea of jumping out of the airplane. There is nowhere to land as they are flying over a heavily wooded area with a massive waterfall. When Laura refuses to jump, Luke throws her carpet bag out of the airplane. She forgets her and fear and jumps out after it (it has her pictures, Lucky's baby shoes in!). Laura lands in the river and is carried downstream towards the falls. Luke tells a ranger to get help and he takes an inflatable raft off after her. Laura desperately hangs onto a piece of driftwood begging God to help her as Luke desperately tries to reach her before she is carried over the falls. Great reunion as he pulls her from the water. This only lasts a moment though as they realize the boat is heading towards the waterfall. Lucky asks Sly if there are any good places to hide. Sly suspects he has run away from home, he shows him the catacombs. Sly brings Lucky some burgers from Ruby's and tells Lucky about his dad, Bill Eckert. L&L are rescued from certain death just as their boat is about to go over the waterfall, a helicopter appears with a ladder, they grab on and are carried up as the boat goes over the falls (one of the greatest scenes ever shot in soap history!). L&L are dropped into a pool at an estate during a wedding reception. They sip champagne and toast the bride and groom, they also make off with a bottle of champagne. They see a bride's veil, Luke places it on Laura's head and kisses her. Laura begs Luke to help her find the bag with Lucky's baby things. Fortunately for Luke, he doesn't have to look far. They come across an old abandoned house in the woods and Laura falls in love with it. We see memories in the house, its Mary Mae's family as she lived their raising her children. Laura feels the love, the joy, and the pain of the house and the people who used to live there. L&L make love at the old house they find in the woods. Luke and Laura hit town in a pink cadillac, to the song of the same name. They are speeding thru town and are pulled over by a cop. Both are in disguise, Laura as a very pregnant woman and she pretends to be in full labor. The officer provides them with an escort to GH. Funny moment as Lucky sees them go by with the police escort. Aerial view as they drive through Port Charles. L&L arrive at the hospital, avoid Sean Donnelly. They reveal themselves to Steve Hardy and have a happy reunion. Lucky asks Sly to get a note to Ruby for his parents. The goons spot Lucky, fire a shot in the air and give chase. Meanwhile, L&L have a happy reunion with Bobbie, then five seconds later she is reaming them about Lucky. Sly takes Lucky back to his house. Lucky is amazed by how much Bill Eckert looks like Luke. Sly tells Bill about Lucky's trouble. Bill insists on contacting the police. Lucky begs him not to, and Sly is furious that his father is letting him down. Bill goes to Kelly's and tells Ruby that he needs to see Luke that night! Ruby goes to GH and tells Luke, another happy reunion. Lucky and Sly head to the catacombs, aerial view of them entering the catacombs behind the waterfall. Several scenes of Lucky and Sly running through the catacombs chased by the bad guys. Bill Eckert goes to the catacombs and comes upon the goons just as they find the kids. When the goon goes to shoot, Bill jumps in front of the kids and gets shot in the back. Bad guys leave thinking they shot Luke. Luke arrives just as Bill is dying. L&L take Sly back to their house. DVD #1B Luke talks to Sly about his father's death. Damian visits Frank Smith in jail and tells him that there was a murder in Port Charles last night but it wasn't Luke Spencer! Damian demands he leave the Spencers alone as he has worked too hard for his success and doesn't want his fathers vendetta to ruin it. Laura realizes it is November and remembers it is their 12th anniversary. Luke tells her he had a very special evening planned and had a special present which was left behind in Canada. She too tells him that she also left her present for him behind. Cute scene as they pretend to open presents from each other. He is trying to guess what his present is, and is thrilled to hear they are snowshoes as he has wanted those since he was a little boy. She tells him her real present is having him. He tells her how lucky he felt when they married, how beautiful she looked. She tells him she got the man of her dreams. He remembers how many people bet against them making it. He asks her if she would marry him again now knowing what she knows. She answers by saying her wedding vows to him. He responds by saying vows of his own. Luke shows up for Bill's funeral, Jenny and the Q's have words. Pure Soap - clip at the new house Luke makes a deal
with Damian to be able to stay in Port Charles. He shows up at
Bobbie's for Thanksgiving. When the subject turns to Sean, its obvious
that Luke remembers Sean's betrayal and sees Sean as a
"backstabber" from the Aztec adventure back in 1984. Robin
takes Lucky up to meet Maxie. Tony and Laura have a heart to heart and
catch up. He tells her about BJ's death. Scotty shows up at the
brownstone. Great scene as looks fly between him and L&L. When
Lucky comes downstairs, Scotty realizes that Lucky is Laura's son,
Scotty slugs Luke. They have to hold off Lucky from attacking Scotty. When Lucky plays with BJ and Lucas, Lucas falls and this leads to another parenting lecture from Bobbie to L&L. Luke doesn't appreciate her words of wisdom. After Bobbie leaves, Laura tells Luke that it just won't work for them to live there. Sonny and Luke meet for the first time, Luke almost throws him down the stairs and tells him to never come to the house (pretty funny to see Luke's animosity considering their later friendship). The next morning, Laura makes a big breakfast. Bobbie comes down very up tight and she tells Laura that Lucas is a diabetic and they have to be very careful with his diet. When BJ asks if they can have eggs and bacon every am, Bobbie makes a remark that they don't because of the cholesterol. Laura looks like she wants to sink into the floor. Lucky hides the spider in the box after Bobbie tells him to take it outside, she was less than thrilled to find it in her house! Lucky takes the spider up to his room (must be some spider as after Lucky walks out of the room we see the spider move the lid). On the morning of Bobbie's high tea for Laura and the ladies of PC, the spider is missing. L&L look for the spider without letting onto Bobbie that it is loose in the house. At the tea, Tiff, Amy, and Laura reunion. Luke has a reunion with Tiffany and Amy. Luke wants to know why the hell Tiffany married Sean. Then Scotty and Kat show up and announce their engagement and impending wedding. Luke meets Kat, and gives her his condolences when he hears she is marrying Scotty. Kat invites L&L to her wedding the next day, Laura tells her "You don't want Luke and Scott at the same wedding!". Laura tells her she will attend though. Damian visits Frank in jail. Scott comes looking for Bobbie for help with his tie, she isn't there but Laura helps him. They discuss their past. Laura apologizes to Scott for hurting him way back when - great scene! Lucky is eating his cereal under the kitchen table, Bobbie has a fit when Lucas wants to eat his breakfast under the table. She tries to make Lucky come out, he refuses saying his mom lets him. Laura comes in and doesn't see anything wrong with it and objects to Bobbie disciplining Lucky. Bobbie sees this as total parental irresponsibility, they go at it, Luke comes in and supports Laura. Laura, Lucky and Sly arrive at the wedding. Kat's wedding begins, Lucy races down the aisle ahead of her to get to Scott first. She tells him Katharine is a fake and that Lucy loves Scott. He doesn't want to hear it, he tells her she isn't his friend, and breaks her heart. Scott does ask Kat about her identity, and she tells him she wasn't Dominique's old friend but is really Dom's half sister. Scott, fed up with Kat's lies, walks out. After the disrupted event, Jenny Eckert introduces herself to Laura who apologizes for Bill's death. Scotty is shattered by kat's lies, Laura comforts him. Luke tells Laura about the job working with Sonny for Frank Smith. L&L are still looking for the spider, they finally find him and he is placed in the box. When Bobbie asks Lucky what is in the box, he shows her and she screams when she sees it. Luke meets Sonny at Kelly's, Ruby is worried about his involvement with Frank again. Laura and Lucky talk about the birds and the bees, she's shocked to hear that Luke has already had this discussion with Lucky. Laura visits Leslie's grave for the first time. Luke tells Ruby about his plan to get his family free of Frank. Robin and Lucky with Laura at the old house going through Webber stuff in the attic, Laura continues to tell Lucky about his grandmother Leslie. Luke and Sonny at the airport to provide escort to a female contact. Laura and Tony discuss Bobbie. Laura wants to enroll Lucky in school, he tells her he wants to make sure they are going to stay in PC as it is hard on him to change schools. Felicia insists that Lucky shadow box with her but he doesn't want to box with her as he is afraid he will hurt her. He tries some karate moves on her, and she impresses him with her skills. Then Kevin suddenly appears in the doorway, distracts her, and Lucky accidentally wallops her on the jaw. Luke & Laura's Return #2, December, 1993 - 8 hours DVD #2A Laura is relieved when Luke comes home. She tells him that she bought the house and all of the land for $35,000! L&L and Lucky at Kelly's, they talk with Jagger about the pink caddy. Laura thanks Jagger for saving Lucky and tells him that he is a bit of a hero in the Spencer family. Laura tells Luke she has gotten a loan for the house for the amazing price of $35,000. He is less than thrilled. But Lucky and her talk Luke into it. They go to the house and talk measurements, L&L wind up making out on the bare floor. L&L and Lucky talk about the new house. When Lucky takes pride in how much he is like his father, and expresses aim to be just like him, Luke tells Lucky he wants him to aim higher, to have more out of life than to just want to be like his dad. Sonny, Marco, and Luke meet up at Kelly's. Laura stops by with a baby gift for Scott's new baby, Serena. Laura shows Lucky a lava lamp as she goes through Tony's old 70's bachelor pad stuff that is stashed in the attic. Lucky thinks the stuff is pretty lame. Laura tries to show Lucky his dad's old disco moves. Luke, Laura, and Lucky move into the new house. Luke loves the lava lamp. They surprise Laura with a cake for her birthday and a music box, the music it plays leads to a flashback of L&L dancing at Wyndham's back in 1981. At L&L's new house, soot comes shooting out of the chimney as the roof has collapsed in their bedroom. Luke thinks the house is hopeless. Luke and Lucky play cowboys while they are supposed to be cleaning up after the roof disaster. Laura is upset over Luke's association with Frank Smith, they have a big fight. Laura is afraid of Luke having to take part in a murder, she wants him to trust Sean. He tells her he can't trust him, that she is the only one he can trust. Laura tells him he is so obsessed with destroying Frank that he is becoming just like him. Lucky comes in and asks why they are fighting, Luke tries to explain their differences to him and tells him about a "work situation" that they are disagreeing over and promises Lucky that he is doing everything he can to get out of it. Luke tells them how much he loves them. Laura agrees to trust Luke but she is obviously very worried. Luke and Laura snuggle in bed. Luke and Laura continue to clean up the mess, they hear a crash and Luke tells them to stay low. Luke pulls a gun on Sonny. Sonny explains he was just throwing pebbles at the window to get Luke's attention as Luke told Sonny not to call or knock on the front door. Sonny tells Luke they have a "green light" on their plan and explains the details. Laura is afraid Luke that Frank will hold Luke being an accomplish over Luke's head for further blackmail. Marco, Sonny, and Luke on their way to Toronto - arguing. Laura and Lucky bring in the Christmas tree, Laura wants to wait for Luke. Lucky admits to feeling safe, he has been prepared to run all of his life. At GH, Sly, Lucky and Laura set up for the Christmas party. Sly is missing his dad, Lucky is worried that Luke won't be back for Christmas. Laura reassures him that Luke promised he would be back in time. Laura explains that Luke went to meet a boat and help someone get into the US. She won't tell him anymore as it would be dangerous. Sounds glamorous to Lucky, spies and boats and subterfuge. Dr. Hardy tells the Christmas story for the children at GH. Sonny and Luke are waiting for Marco, a ranger comes upon them. Luke pretends to be a geeky bird watching professor. Marco arrives with the Russian assasin that they are trying to sneak into the US for Frank Smith. Lucky and Laura decorate the tree. Laura is upset to see that their Christmas angel has had the wings broken off. Have no fear, Lucky doesn't an instant repair. Luke arrives home, his family is estatic to see him. Luke places the angel on top of the tree. Tiffany brings Laura a rocking chair with a bid red bow on it. Luke returns and enjoys the rocker in front of the fire. Good news, the phone and the heater are now working on the Spencer's new home. Lucky has a new house for Al the spider as well. Lucky proposes the garage as a location. Luke teases Laura by suggesting Al live in the house. Luke scares Laura when he seriously tells her he has to "go out". She is terrified he won't return and begs him not to go. Lucky overhears Luke saying he may not come back but if he does it will be all over. Laura screams at Luke not to do it, she fears he may be killed. Lucky follows Luke though neither Luke or Laura are aware of this to meeting Luke has on the docks with the assasin that Frank Smith has hired. DVD #2B The meeting goes sour as Luke realizes the assasin may possibly kill him now that Luke has given him the idea. Luke pulls a gun and tells the guy to walk away, he seems to be complying and then turns and shoots at Luke. Luke returns fire and kills the bad guy but a stray bullet hits Lucky who is hiding behind a crate. Luke screams when he sees Lucky fall forward bleeding from the abdomen. Across town, Laura immediately knows that Lucky is in danger. She runs through the house desperately searching for him. Laura and Tiffany go to see Sonny at the Paradise Lounge to find out where Luke's meeting is. Tiffany waits outside and she is arrested on charges of prostitution by a rookie cop who doesn't realize he is arresting the police commissioner's wife! Luke runs into GH carrying Lucky. Tony and Dr. Hardy work on him, they tell Luke that surgery is required as the bullet is still in Lucky and lodged near his spine and there is a risk of paraylsis. Tony operates. Laura goes to see Sonny and badgers him into telling her where Luke's meeting took place. Sonny takes her to the docks, Laura sees the crime scene, the police, the tape and is terrified when she hears that one man was killed and another shot. Garcia won't tell her who the victims are so she heads to GH. When Laura sees Luke, she is so relieved that he is alive. But when he tells her Lucky has been shot and is in surgery she is furious with him over her "baby" being hurt. Bobbie comes out of surgery and tells them it is going well. Tony tells him he got the bullet out but it was a difficult surgery but there is still a threat of paralysis. Laura sits by Lucky's side after surgery, he looks so little and vulnerable hooked up to the respirator. Tony tells L&L that Lucky is stable even though he hasn't regained consciousness. Finally, Lucky starts to wake up. Tony gives him an exam and says Lucky will be fine, that there is muscle weakness in his legs but no paralysis. Talk turns to Lucky trying out for LIttle League. Amy gives him an autographed Mickey Mantle picture, Bobbie gives him spider books. Sly visits Lucky next. Luke and Laura talk with Lucky about the mistake he made in following Luke. Cute moments as L&L play blackjack with Lucky for chocolate. Then more heartbreak as Lucky tries to walk and can't and he collapses on the floor.
