Luke & Laura's Return #7  January 6 - April 5, 1995 - 8 hour original edit

DVD #7A  As Justus' victory rally gets going at the Outback, Damian gives Justus a contribution, but Luke tells Justus it's dirty money, so Justus tears up the check. Luke and Edward banter about Luke's club. Laura makes a pitch for money to help pay off Justus' campaign debts. Miguel sings. Justus announces he's out of debt due to their contributions and thanks his supporters.

1/10/95  Laura tells Luke she needs to be home for dinner. Luke is hoping she has some thing amorous in mind, but when she mentions liver he gets turned off. She then tells him she wants to have a small dinner for Lucy. Luke says why, didn't we say thank you already? Laura is surprised as she thought that Luke liked Lucy. He says she's okay, but she has a tendency to get the wrong guy. Laura tells him about Kevin. Laura then goes to Lucy's office and invites her. Lucy at first says no, she doesn't want the Spencers to be persona non-grata due to Lucy's unpopularity. Laura says Luke ain't too fondly thought of either in large parts of PC. Lucy says she is worse. Laura tells her that Spencers decide for themselves who to be friends with. Lucy asks if she can bring Kevin and says yes.
Lucy and Kevin arrive, Lucy bearing all sorts of gifts and talking nonstop. As Luke put it, it was like Christmas on rewind. Kevin and Luke are uncomfortable around each other. Lucy goes up to see LuLu and says she is the prettiest girl she's seen, aside from Serena. Spencers ask who Serena is and Lucy tells them.
Lucy and Laura go to the kitchen and Luke and Kevin find out they both like 'Blues' singers. Doorbell rings, Laura answers and in comes Bobbie with a box full of BJ's stuff for Lu. She puts the package down and sees Lucy and Kevin are there. They invite Bobbie to stay, she turns them down and rushes out, even stiffing Luke. On the porch she asks how could he? He responds Lucy did save his life. She tells him to have a nice evening. Luke comes in full of apologies. Lucy says to forget about it, she and Bobbie have been at loggerheads for a long time. Being Lucy she lets slip that she almost was going to seduce Luke on a bet. Laura is not amused.  Luke tells Lucy to explain herself. A flustered Lucy tries to drag in Kevin. It doesn't work and Laura is giving her a look that could kill.

1/11/95  Sonny is having a new suit fitted by Sam the tailor when Luke arrives.  Sonny and Sam convince Luke to get a new suit too, as Luke admits it would be nice to have a new suit for the opening of the club on Friday. Luke has given in and has been measured for a new suit and has chosen the most expensive fabric. Once Sam leaves, Luke and Sonny celebrate the coming opening and Luke concedes he's not usually comfortable with partnerships, only with Robert Scorpio and of course Laura.  He hopes there's nothing that will get in the way of this partnership with Sonny. Luke heads downstairs all psyched that B.B. King is to play at the opening.
Corbin shows up at Luke's bearing meat he stole from a meat truck, says a man owed him a favor, and he's just passing it on to Luke. Luke knows what Corbin wants, a job, but Luke isn't ready to hire this guy. Corbin tries to convince Luke to hire him as a maitre'd but Luke intends to server that role himself.  Corbin tries to paint a worst-case scenario. Luke still isn't sold but asks where he can reach Corbin. Corbin can't be reached, he'll be in the next day. When Corbin leaves, Luke decides it's time to check "references" and calls The Rustic Grille and of course they never have heard of Corbin.
Tony runs into Laura at GH. She reminds him about the opening of Luke's and notices he could use some cheering up. She finds out about the session with Kevin and when she hears Bobbie is blaming Lucy, Laura thinks she knows why.  Tony isn't upset that Lucy and Kevin were having dinner with at the Spencer’s. Laura points out that the sessions with Kevin and Luke's house are the few places where Bobbie feels safe, to find Lucy at Luke's removed part of Bobbie's support. Tony doesn't quite buy it and holds still that Bobbie is into the blame game but Laura points out that Tony is doing the same thing and blaming Bobbie.

1/13/95  Luke and Lucky show Laura the finished Luke’s Club.  They toast with Sonny to their partnership. Luke admits to being very excited about the whole thing. Laura says she's happy he's happy. They enjoy all of their dreams coming true, a nice home, a safe place to live, and being back home. Laura notices the sparkle that the club has brought to Luke’s eyes. Luke shows off the new front sign over the club. Back inside, Sonny offers to get a maitre d' for Luke. Suddenly, an explosion shocks them all, as flames burst out in the club.  Luke and Sonny grab fire extinguishers to fight the now spreading fire while Laura calls 911.
Laura calls 911 as Sonny and Luke valiantly try to contain the growing conflagration. Luke finally orders everyone out, but when they emerge, a barrage of gunfire erupts forcing them to dive for cover. Sonny returns fire. Luke, Lucky, and Laura huddle behind cover while Sonny continues to return fire. When the assailants speed off, Sonny and Luke run to pursue them. Lucky, fearing Foster is still inside and trapped in the raging inferno, foolishly rushes in to try to save him despite his mother's terrified pleas to stop.

1/16/95  Lucky runs back into the club after Foster. Sonny and Luke go back in the club after Lucky as Laura screams his name. Luke drags Lucky out screaming for Foster.  Luke wonders where Sonny is. Just then, the Sonny arrives with Foster wrapped in a blanket, he doesn't look too good. Luke and Sonny discuss who may have tried to kill them. Foster comes around slowly.
Laura is concerned and demands of Sonny, "what the hell is going on?" Sonny admits that the firebombing/shootout could be Cusak's doing. Laura is angry and lays into Sonny.  When they are alone, Laura opens up on Luke about the danger to which Sonny has exposed them. Luke insists that this latest incident is simply the wrap-up after Frank's death. Laura tells Luke that she is afraid that their old life of looking over their shoulders is starting again. She says that she will not tolerate more violence in their lives and wants Luke to sever the partnership with Sonny.
Luke says he'll find a way to make peace that doesn't involve guns or danger but it will take some time. Through clenched teeth, Laura tells him he'd better figure it out soon. She announces that she's taking the baby and Lucky and leaving town until the danger has passed. She's heading off to Beecher's Corners. Lucky wants to stay with Luke though, and argues for staying with Dad and Foster. Luke senses a family riot on his hands and tells them that they should sleep on any decisions. Lucky repeats firmly that he's not leaving.

1/17/95  Laura is packing up some stuff with LuLu when Luke enters, checking up on the progress and LuLu. Lucky comes in with only his school backpack. He tells him he thought about Texas and decided to stay in PC with Luke. This leads to a full scale argument between parents and child.
Lucky suggests that he will be just as safe at Ruby's as Beechers Corner with Foster. Luke buys into that argument, that either way Lucky is out of the house. So he is willing as long as nothing further happens. Laura agrees with the condition if anything happens Lucky will get on the next plane with no argument. Luke sends junior off to school and then Laura heads off, as they they say goodbye and hug with tears in their eyes. Luke is tired and worried.
Luke is ticked off at Sonny. Luke now wants the particulars of Sonny’s takeover of Frank’s business and where does Cusack fit in.  Luke thought Sonny was keeping the mob stuff out of the club. Sonny says that was the idea. Luke asks what happened to the idea of being non-violent? Sonny replies that the drugs and prostitution were sold to Detroit and he kept the numbers, protection, etc. Luke questions that Kusak went for this? Nope, and thats why he was kicked out. Sonny maintains that doing it his way will let everyone be happy and peaceful (on the mob side). Luke wants to know how long this clean up will take? Sonny assures him a couple of weeks.  Harry comes in and he has bad news, the bombing was Kusack.
Luke goes down to finish things up with the insurance agent when Sean arrives. Luke is serious and maintains he has no knowledge of the who or why. Sean warns him about Sonny and when Luke starts defending him, Sean says he is not speaking as a cop but as one who owes Luke his life and as a friend, Sonny is poison. Luke turns jocular and they go back to their usual banter. Sean goes up to see Sonny. MaeMae arrives and asks Luke the same question everyone else has, who/why? The two chat amiably a bit, and Luke seems relaxed for the first time.

1/18/95  Luke drops by Kelly's to let Ruby know about the damage and to ask her to keep Lucky and Foster. Ruby isn't surprised that Sonny was the target and offers her opinion that Sonny is trouble. She doesn't buy Sonny's story that it's old business and isn't pleased that Laura and LuLu had to leave for Beechers Corners. She'll take in Lucky and Foster, but only because she likes Lucky and Foster. She's not happy since she knows Luke will be unencumbered and be able to run with Sonny. Ruby scolds Luke for complicating his life with Sonny.
Mac visits Luke's and offers his help. When Luke turns him down, he's insured, etc. Mac offers to help find out who is responsible. Mac quizzes Luke on what happened at his club. Luke doesn't want Mac's help and doesn't need answers. Mac doesn't buy that or this isn't "Luke Spencer" and wonders if Luke really knows Sonny. That doesn't sit well with Luke and Luke likes it even less when Mac warns him Sonny is bad news and people are starting to ask questions. Mac claims it's because of Stone. Luke vows there is no danger, this despite Mac's observation that Laura and the baby have gone out of town. Luke claims it's just Sonny's past. Mac still doesn't buy it but now Luke wants to know for whom Mac is working. Mac claims it's just old habits since Robin has an obsession with Stone. He wants to make sure whatever Sonny's involved with won't bother Robin. Mac doesn't have Luke's confidence when Luke is not about to question Sonny's motives. Mac finally leaves Luke to ponder the situation.

1/19/95  Luke confronts Sonny in the club.  Luke wants to know what Sonny’s plan to put Cusack down is. How much trouble are they in? Sonny assures him that he has it under control, and that NOTHING and NOBODY will be allowed to hurt Laura, the kids, even Foster, or Luke. Sonny offers him the deal that he will bow out of the club if anything else happens.

1/20/95  Luke and Sonny discuss fix up plans for the club. Mike Corbin is back at Luke’s after hearing about the fire and offers some help with the cleanup. He spins an obviously wild yarn about tending bar in Alaska which amuses Luke and Stone then tries again to get Luke to hire him. Understandably, Luke declines. On seeing a water damaged wall, Mike takes off saying he's got just the thing to help. Mike returns with a rug for hanging over the damaged wall, and once again he pressures Luke for a job. Luke finally agrees to hire Mike with a few conditions on tips and stealing. Edward Q calls Luke to complain about Foster getting Annabelle pregnant. Luke laughingly tells him not to worry they'll waive the stud fee and hangs up. Luke shakes Foster’s paw in congratulations.

1/23/95  Luke wanders into Kelly’s with Mike. Luke gets Mike a room at Kelly’s.  Luke tells Bobbie and Lucky about Foster's impending fatherhood, they're thrilled.  Luke reassures Lucky that he'll dump Sonny in a New York minute if he's into dirty stuff. Mike joins them and tries to get him to talk about his "partner". Luke admits he's in business with Sonny and Mike nosily asks more questions, which Luke ignores. Luke tells Lucky that he wonders why Mike is so interested in Sonny.

1/26/95  Luke and Mike are dealing with paperwork at Luke's when Stone comes in and remarks that they should have the inventory on computer. Mac does and maybe he will lend it to Luke. Luke calls Mac, Mike will go to pick it up. Outside, the opportunity to steal the Idle Rich speakers presents itself. He takes them to Luke and claims to have gotten them at a garage sale for $500. Luke is thrilled. Later, Luke is having trouble with the software and asks Lucky for help.  Lucky suggests "you could always give up and read the manual" but Luke doesn't want to admit defeat.  Lucky discovers that the software calls up an antique printer. Luke asks, "who still has an old-fashioned tractor feed". Lucky, Foster and Mike go off to Second Chance Computer, which is full of nifty stuff from way back in the '80s. Sonny walks into Luke’s and spies the speakers, "Where the hell did you get these?"

1/27/95  Sonny questions Luke about where he got the speakers.  Luke confronts Mike about the speakers. Luke decides to put a scare into Mike saying Sonny wants to see him. After playing up how bad Sonny is, Mike appears worried. When Sonny finally appears, it's clear to Luke they know each other already, "Do you know each other?" he asks. "He's my father," Sonny replies. Lucky talks with Lila about the Annabelle/Foster puppies. He wants some of the puppies for his family and friends.

1/30-1/31/95  Sonny explains his relationship with Mike to Luke. Sonny wants to know what Mike’s angle is. Sonny tells Luke to fire Mike, that he wants him out of his sight. Luke tells Mike he had him pegged as a con man but didn't realize how good he was. Over drinks, he tells Luke his history with Sonny's mom. After coming back from Vietnam in '64, Mike met Adella at a dance. She was a Cuban refugee living in New York. They hit it off and Sonny was born ten months later. Mike worked at a shipyard not making much, got into gambling to make ends meet which Adella didn't like, got laid off, got a job truck driving, then just stopped coming home around the time Sonny was four years old. Adella later married a cop, Deke Woods. He went back to see Sonny a couple of times but never stayed long. Years later Mike ran into Sonny at Coney Island and found out that Deke and later Adella had both passed on.
Sonny breaks down after remembering a fight between his parents when he was a little boy. Sonny tells Luke that he shouldn't have fallen for Mike's con and that he's in no mood to compare childhood tragedies. Luke continues with the story of his father abandoning him (paraphrased): "The last time I saw my father, I was seven years old. We had no food, no heat, only a half-empty bottle of cheap scotch. My mother had just died from a burst appendix in front of my eyes.  My father took one look around, polished off the bottle, and walked out on me, my three year old sister, and my mother's body. So don't tell me what you're going through."
Sonny tells Luke that even after Mike left his family, Adella never stopped loving him. Sonny says Mike had his chance years ago and he never wants to have anything to do with him again. Luke says if his own father walked in right now, he'd want to get to know what kind of a man does that to his family and how much like his father he might be. Luke says don't be to quick to brush off his dad. Sonny tells Luke it is his call to keep Mike at the club, but warns him not to trust him.
Luke tells Robin and Stone that BB King is coming. He asks where Sonny is, Stone tells him that Sonny went to Ruby's. Luke seems perturbed by this. He asks Robin about Yale and she tells him she's thinking more of PCU. Luke is flumaxed, and basically tells her to think again. They leave and let it slip that Mac doesn't approve of Luke's choices of business partners. Later, Stone asks Luke for advice on handling the situation. Luke tells him the only thing to do is advise and suggest but not force the college issue.

2/3/95  Luke is preparing for opening night of his club.  Stone, Sonny, Luke are all in tuxes looking quite dashing. Lucky and Luke chat briefly about Laura and whether there's likely to be trouble. Luke reassures him that all will be fine. Luke asks Sonny about possible trouble, but Sonny says things are cool. As they toast Luke's club, B.B. arrives. BB King walks in and likes the club.  Luke banters with B.B. to some blues music in the background. Guests begin arriving and Luke stands at the door welcoming Lily & Miguel, then Lucy & Kevin, then Bobbie arrives, next is Sean & Tiffany.  Joe Scully arrives and Sonny seems thrilled to see him. Sonny introduces Luke to Joe, who says he's in town to discuss a little business with Sonny.  Mike remarks to Luke about the father/son-like relationship between Sonny and Joe.
Luke introduces B.B. King who proceeds to play some rocking R&B. More B.B. King with plenty of shots of PC citizens rocking to the music. Mac asks Luke if he can talk to him in private. Luke's office is a mess so they head up to Sonny's presumably empty apartment. Luke finds Robin and Stone there semi-undressed and quickly shuts the door and locks it. Mac wants to know what's up, so Luke discreetly says it was occupied. When Mac presses him, Luke reveals it was Stone. Mac immediately demands to know if Robin was with him, but Luke says he didn't see and strongly suggests they leave. When Luke balks at unlocking the door Mac kicks it in to confront the semi-clad Robin and Stone. Mac tells Luke to send him the bill.

2/6-7/95  Luke has to stop Mac from attacking Stone. Luke hustles Stone out of sight into Sonny's kitchen area and calms him down. Robin and Mac start to fight. Stone is upset because Mac won't give Robin a chance to explain. He wants to assure Mac that he loves Robin and would never hurt her. Luke advises him to stay out of it, "this is about Robin and Mac, not about you" he tells the kid.  Eventually Stone confronts Mac, who's raring to go at him. Stone accuses Mac of not wanting to see Robin happy.  Luke separates them and Stone hustles out. After a few more verbal barrages Robin huffs off, too.
BB King plays his second set. As the evening winds down, Luke says goodbyes to his departing guests. Luke is sorry that Laura wasn’t there. Mike comes by with good news about the repeat business generated. Luke shakes Mike's hand but Sonny gives him a very cold shoulder and walks away. Scully chats with Luke and Brenda as Sonny joins in. Poker game tommorow night in the back room. Scully says bye to Luke and Brenda and gives Sonny a particulary warm goodbye. Luke says interesting guy, what's up? Sonny says it is an old, long story.

2/9-2/10/95  Mac storms into Luke's looking for Stone. He tells Luke who Joe Scully is. Luke maintains calm, but is grateful for the information. Later, Scully arrives to meet with Sonny and Luke eyes them. Bobbie is introduced to Joe. Luke warns her that Joe is trouble, "Not the kind of trouble that curls your toes, the kind that sends you screaming out of a dark alley." Bobbie is even more interested. Luke invites Bobbie to stay for the poker game at the club and offers to stake her. Luke asks Harry about Joe’s interests these days.
Luke explains that when he was mayor, an ordinance was passed that allowed gambling in certain areas. The poker game proceeds. Mike buys into the game for $200, but starts off losing badly much to Joe’s pleasure. Mike plays the poor boy in the game, even going so far as to borrow $100 more from Luke, but then he wins a big pot. Luke watches suspiciously. As the game continues, Mike becomes the big winner, eventually, cashing out with $3000.
Outside the room, Luke angrily tells Mike he knows what went down, and it better never happen again or he's out of there. Mike plays innocent, but agrees never to do it again what ever it is. Luke questions Sonny about Joe Scully, and Sonny admits that Joe took out Cusack. Luke asks if it's safe to bring Laura and the baby back now. Sonny suggests Luke give it another day or so. Luke tells Sonny he had better not mess with him.

2/15-2/16/95  Sonny tells Luke about his meeting with Scully.  He says that Scully wants to take over in PC.  Sonny recounts how Scully set him straight when he was young. Scully ended up taking Sonny in and "saving" Sonny's life. Luke understands his loyalty to Scully but thinks it is time to draw the line with him. Luke but wants to know why Sonny can't let go. Just as Luke starts bellowing Sean arrives, wanting to know why Scully is hanging around PC. Sonny plays dumb, Scully was only in town to check out the club. Sean doesn't buy it and warns them not to provide Scully with a safe harbor. Sean is the one who will be called if bullets start flying outside Luke's club. Luke doesn't appreciate Sean's visit and isn't happy with Sonny. He expected loyalty from Sonny and the truth. If Sonny doesn't handle Scully, the Luke is ready to buy Sonny out.
As their voices get louder once again there is a knock at the door. It's Scully. Joe wants to see Sonny alone but Sonny says Luke can stay, and points out they are partners.  When Joe makes comments about the club, Sonny tells him the club is clean but Joe doesn't buy that, with music and gambling? That sends Luke off into "I don't pay protection to you, or to Frank Smith, or anyone. That's why the partnership with Sonny."
Luke tells him he is not welcome in the club anymore.  When Joe's gone Sonny warns Luke, not a good move. It's not a good idea to make Joe an enemy. Luke tells Sonny that he must choose.  Sonny tells Luke that he going to talk with Scully to resolve things. Tiffany tells Luke she is pregnant. She wishes Laura was here to share this with her.
Sonny reports to back to Luke, and tells him that Scully is playing hardball. Luke demands to know what he owes to Joe. When Deke beat Adelle, Joe took care of him. Luke does understand that this means Joe is dangerous. Scully has plans for Sonny’s big mouth partner, Luke and the police commissioner, Sean. Scully asks Luke to dinner at the No Name. Sonny warns him to watch his back.

2/17/95  Luke checks his piece as he and Sonny discuss Luke's upcoming meeting with Joe Scully. Luke arrives at the No Name to meet Scully.

DVD #7B  Joe begins by discussing Sonny. Luke says Sonny must decide what's important to Sonny. Joe tells him that Sonny is too soft to run the business, and he's going to get killed. Luke says he's only interested in his club and will probably buy Sonny out soon so he can be out of Sonny's business totally. Scully replies in a not very veiled threat that Luke is naive to think he will ever be out of it knowing what he knows.
Sean, Garcia, and his two undercover officers huddle around a burning trash can waiting for Luke to come out. Joe tells Luke that ordinarily when someone like Luke is around who knows what Luke knows and is as hostile as Luke is, he'd be making plans already to eliminate the problem.  Eventually, Joe comes to the point. He wants Luke to stay out of Sonny's and his business, and also he wants Luke to pay him 10% of the club's profits. Luke tells him he won't pay protection to anyone; so shove off. After Luke leaves, Joe's goon tells Joe that Sean is in the parking lot.
Scully smilingly tells him, "You know what to do." As Luke walks to his car, Sean waits in the dark nearby. Suddenly, we see a figure point a silencer-equipped pistol. As Luke stands by his car, a shot is fired. Sean immediately jumps up to return fire. Unfortunately, so does Luke whose shot strikes Sean in the head. Luke rushes to him. "What are you doing here?"  Luke asks unbelievingly. "Dying, I think," Sean weakly replies before losing consciousness.

2/20/95  Behind the No-Name Club, Garcia's crew surrounds Luke who is cradling Sean in his arms. Luke insists he was not trying to shoot Sean. He was just defending himself. It was an accident. Luke babbles about a second shooter who used a silencer, etc. Garcia doesn't believe him and slaps the cuffs on him. Luke retells his story to Garcia who warns him, "You better hope Sean doesn't die!" At PCPD, Luke calls Justus and asks him to represent him.  He gives him a thumbnail account of the night's happenings. Soon after Justus arrives at PCPD, Garcia questions Luke.  Luke tells Garcia exactly what happened. The questioning is winding down but Garcia wants to keep Luke at PCPD until Sean is out of surgery.

2/21/95   Luke is arraigned. After testimony, Luke is denied bail. But then Sean’s testimony (via Tony) is presented and it clears Luke and he is released. Luke arrives at GH. She starts ranting at him, he tells her it was an accident. She wants to know why people are shooting at him in parking lots.  She misses Laura. They huddle for a while and then Tony comes out and ominously says, "We did everything we could."

2/22/95  Bobbie asks Luke if Laura knows, and he says no. Luke can't tell Laura until he knows Sean is going to be okay. There's an emotional moment between Luke and Tiff as he expresses his regret. He's going to tell Ruby and Lucky so they don't hear it on the news and then he's going to get a fix on what happened and why. Meanwhile at Kelly's, Lucky comes in from walking Foster and is carrying the paper. He sees the headline that Luke is being held for the shooting of Sean. Luke enters and Ruby wonders if he wanted to kill Sean but Luke says he hasn't wanted to do that for a very long time. When asked if he's seen Tiff, he says yes and Tiff is struggling with forgiveness. She's doing a better job with it than he would. When Ruby asks if this will delay Laura and Lulu's return, he agrees it will. Luke wonders if Laura will ever stop forgiving him. Laura has already forgiven him of so much. Just as he wonders what will happens if she ever does stop Lucky looks in and listens.

2/24/95   Tiffany tells Luke that when Sean recovers, he will have to change his risk taking ways as there will be another person to think about. Luke apologizes to Sean and says he'll miss their "fights." They agree that Scully set them up. Sean tells him to get Scully. Damian taunts him about shooting Sean saying that now Luke and Frank Smith were the same. Luke pointedly counters, Frank Smith is dead. Damian is not pleased at the remark. Luke chats with Mike about Sean and Joe Scully. Luke says he plans to ask Sonny who might have fired that first shot. Luke tells Sonny it's over, but doesn't say what. Luke tells Sonny that Joe Scully either tried to frame him or kill him, so now Sonny has to choose between Joe and him.

2/27/95  Luke's planning on going to see Laura in Beacher's Corners. He tells Sonny how much he dreads telling Laura about Sean getting shot. He says he's got to be able to tell her that the mob thing is under control. Sonny assures Luke he'll take care of the business with Scully.  Luke breezes into Kelly’s and tells Bobbie and Ruby that he and Lucky are traveling to Beacher's Corners the next day. They'll be home the next evening, though. Lucky kicks up a fuss that Laura and Lesley-Lu can't come home yet as he misses the rest of the family.

3/1/95  Before Luke and Lucky head off to see Laura they stop at the Wards to inform Mary Mae and to let her know they'll be back in time for her performance. When she asks if Laura and Lesley Lu will be returning with them, Luke says no, he's going to tell Laura about Sean. When they arrive at Beechers Corners, Laura and the baby are at the library.  Mrs. Whitaker can tell something is up and she takes Lucky and Foster with her to get apples.
Laura returns and is all excited to see her guys.  Laura is deeply disturbed by Luke's news and especially upset she can't be with Tiff for Tiff's pregnancy and to see their children play together, etc. Luke tries to apologize but Laura wants to know WHY?  Luke tries to explain about Scully and Sonny and immediately Laura connects Sonny to all their troubles lately: in PR, the firebombing and Sean’s shooting. Laura asks if he would stop if she asked him to and he responds that he can’t. Laura wonders where his loyalties are, with Sonny or with her and his family.
Luke goes on about taking care of the problem with Sonny when Laura suggests Sonny take care of it himself. But no this is about Luke and the club. Laura "gives in" but requests no guns. Then Luke drops his other bombshell, that Laura and Lesley Lu will have to stay put. Laura is not a happy camper but before she can respond Mrs. Whitaker and Lucky return. Laura is thrilled to see her son, but Lucky sees there is about to be a big fight over Luke's instructions that Laura stay in Beecher’s Corners.

3/2/95   Luke and Lucky and Laura have it out at Beecher's Corners. Laura is furious, Lucky is furious, and no way will he stay with his Mom.  Luke says he will fix it but  Laura does not look impressed. Back in PC, Mike notes the coolness between father and son and has a little chat with Lucky. Lucky does speak to Luke and ask to stay to hear MaryMae sing.

3/3/-3/695  Mary Mae arrives at Luke’s for her singing debut.  Tony arrives with Felicia and tells them the bullet fragments were removed, and Sean should eventually recover fully. Felicia snaps at Luke that it was all his fault, and they start to exchange unpleasantries, but Tony intervenes and leads Felicia off to their table. Kevin and Lucy arrive and banter with Luke.  Lucy reminds Luke about how she saved his life, so the club really should be called Lucy's. Luke schmoozes with Lila at the Quartermaine table. When Sonny, Brenda, Ned, and Lois arrive, Luke tells them they were late, and he gave away their table. He seats them with Amy Vining and her date. Luke introduces MaeMae who starts her act. She completes her first set and gets a big ovation. Felicia goes into labor and slips under a table at Luke’s. Mike calls out to ask if there is a doctor in the house and most of the customers come running (the Hardy’s, Monica, Alan, Simone, Kevin, Bobbie). Tony helps her under the table and  delivers a baby girl. Mary Mae then performs a second set at Luke’s and dedicates it to the new arrival.

3/7/95  Lucy rushes into Luke’s crying that she needs his help. He asks if she is bleeding? She tells him that she thinks Deception is being sabotaged.  She tells him about the missing shipments and other problems the perfume company is having. Luke says that it is a major leap from accepting laundered money to hijacking trucks. After she badgers some more and brings up her saving his life, he reluctantly agrees to help her. She asks him to snoop around for her.  Luke asks Sonny if he knows anything about it, to which Sonny says no. Luke then asks Sonny to ask Harry to look into it. Sonny agrees but he has his thoughtful, pensive look on his face.

3/8/95  Luke breaks up a fight between Sonny and Mike. Mike is reminded he can only keep his job if he keeps out of Sonny face and he storms off slamming the door behind him. Luke finds out Mike had been listening to Sonny and Harry but what bothers Luke is to find out that Scully is behind Lucy's problems and that Damian earlier had approached Sonny to go after Lucy. Luke is not happy that Sonny didn't tell him. Sonny is going "to handle" the problem but Luke gives him just one chance before Luke takes care of it himself.

3/9/95  Luke tells Lucy about Scully being the source of her trouble and he was hired by Damian. Luke and Lucy team up.  Luke tells Lucy that he has a plan. He offers to team up with Lucy, "thee and me against the forces of darkness."  He tells her about Damian. She flies into a rage.

3/10/95  Reginald inadvertently releases Annabelle who promptly runs off with Foster just as she is about to give birth.

3/13/95  Lucky and Ruby arrive at the Q’s to tell them that Foster escaped from Kelly’s.  Lucky apologizes and asks if they could look for him on the grounds? Lila breaks the news that the dogs run off. She blames Edward's negative comments toward Foster's unborn puppies as the reason Annabelle split. Lucky tries to assure Lila that Foster will protect Annabelle. At Luke's Club, Luke and Sonny chat about teaming up against Damian and Scully. Luke convinces Sonny that Lucy would be a great addition to their "Mission Impossible" team. Sonny meets with Luke back at the club. They decide to plan a sting operation in NYC to track down the stolen Deception products.

3/15/95  Lucky calls Laura using the prearranged interrupted ring as a signal. After some discussion of homework, Lucky relays the news of Foster and Annabelle's escape. Laura observes that Foster is being a true Spencer. When Luke comes in and gets on the phone he informs Laura that he's going to use Lucy and her troubles with Deception to setup Joe. Only then will he allow Laura and Lesley Lu to come home. It will take a while but it has to be done right. Once the phone conversation is over Lucky is about to go looking for the runaways but before he can leave Ruby arrives. She discovered Foster outside Kelly's and fed him. She went to check on Foster later and discovered he had gone, and taken a 5 pound bag of ground sirloin.  Lucky is about to go searching in the cold but Luke tries to dissuade him, after all Foster is an independent sort and will take care of his own.  Lucky points out Luke is projecting.

3/16/95  Foster appears while Edward is having a sandwich. Edward gives it to Foster, who takes it to Annabelle. Edward follows. Edward slips on the ice. He can't get up and seems to have broken something.

3/17/95  Lucy assures Luke and Sonny that she can play in the big leagues with them to get Scully. Luke tells them the plan. Sonny has reservations, but agrees that is they get Scully, he has to be sent away for a long time.  Edward’s leg is broken after a fall in the catacombs. The dogs take care of him. Annabelle sends Foster off to get help for Edward. Ryan calls Kevin. Foster finds Lucky at Luke’s Club to get help for Edward.
As Luke and Sonny prepare to discuss Scully, Lucy explodes on to the scene ranting about all the attention Felicia is getting. Luke changes the subject back to the Scully affair. Sonny voices his reservations about her involvement. Lucy argues her case convincingly, pointing out yet again how she helped Luke.
Luke suggests they try to set a trap for the rat Scully, and Lucy is to be the tasty bait. Foster turns up at Luke's Club and attempts to get Luke and Lucky to follow him.

3/20/95  Foster is leading Luke and Lucky to the rescue. The Spencer boys find Edward, racked with pain from a broken leg. Luke covers him with his coat, instructs Lucky to keep Edward from losing consciousness, and runs to get help. Luke and Lucky return to the Q mansion with Annabelle and the puppy.

3/21/95  Luke calls Laura and tells her about Annabelle had her puppy and about Edward breaking his leg. He also tells her that Lucky is going over to the hospital to discuss custody of the puppy. They discuss his plan to get Scully with Lucy’s help. Lucky arrives with a care package of breakfast which Edward greatly appreciates and wolfs down with great relish. Lucky says he can't stay long, what with school and all. Edward who is being very nice and sociable to Lucky, says to pull up a chair. Lucky replies, "There is some business I would like to discuss with you." Edward plays it straight, and as Lucky brings up Lila's promise concerning the pick of the litter. Lucky talks to Edward about who gets custody of the puppy. Edward is not so willing to give up the puppy.  Amy comes in with the crutches, and Lucky leaves with Edward's promise to continue negotiations.

3/22/95  Sonny asks Luke if he can hold Brenda’s 21st birthday party at the club? Luke points out that's one of the perks of being a partner is being able to throw bashes in said club.  Sonny turns the conversation to Scully. If they are going to set Scully up Luke is going to have to be convincing that Luke is thinking of letting Scully have a piece of the action. Luke can do convincing, he's not sure about nice. Sonny sets up a meeting as Scully figures it's about time. He's not about to wait much longer and is losing patience.
That evening when Scully arrives at the club Mike is none too cordial but Sonny intervenes. The meeting doesn't start off very well when when Luke announces he "resents the hell out of Joe."  Luke put his sweat into the club and doesn't cotton to the idea of turning over his profits to someone else. Joe reminds Luke that Sonny is a partner. Luke points out Sonny provided venture capital. Luke asks for more time.
Scully agrees to give Luke more time, but he won't wait forever. Once he's gone, Sonny agrees that Luke wasn't nice. Luke notices Damian and Kat and reminds Mike they are to be blackballed. Mike admits he wasn't sure Luke meant it before when Luke told him to seat them in the parking lot. Luke does mean it, but for this evening Mike is just to water down their drinks and make their stay unpleasant.

3/24/95  Luke and Sonny talk about Joe Scully. Luke wonders why Joe would bother to put the squeeze on something as small as Port Charles. Luke believes something smells with the stolen shipment. Luke suggests they plant drugs in one of Lucy's shipments and then have Scully busted after he steals it. Sonny says Joe will surely know who set him up after it goes down, and besides, Sonny doesn't have a supplier. Luke argues convincingly they can cover their tracks and finally Sonny agrees. Luke says they will bait the trap with the tasty Ms. Coe. Sonny and Luke decide to go ahead with their plan, but they need to find out more about Scully's methods and to get a source for some drugs.  Laura calls, and they banter about family stuff. When Laura asks when things will be finished, Luke replies very soon.

3/27/95  Emily meets Lucky, when he comes to talk to Edward about the puppy again. Edward wants Lucky to neuter Foster or no puppy. Lucy comes into Luke’s office, all huffy about what she has been through with Ryan. Luke and Sonny rein her in and tell her about the plan. They plan to use her to set up Damian to set up Scully.

3/28/95  Laura calls Luke with the news that Lulu said her first word. He hangs up upon Lucy's arrival, followed by Sonny.  She tells them that the trap has been set and she'll tell Damien in an 'accidental' way about the new shipment. Sonny doesn't think she can pull off the whole caper, Luke is more hopeful.

3/29/95  Lucy gets to Luke's and tells Luke and Sonny that the trap has been baited. Now she just needs to work her magic on Scully. Luke suggests poker but that's not to Lucy's liking. Instead she suggests craps. Turns out that used to be Scully's favorite game. So Sonny invites Scully to the back room the next night for craps, they will be using "house dice." Sonny tells Luke and Lucy that Scully "went for it.

3/30/95  Bobbie wants in on the craps game on Luke’s, but the minute Luke gives the signal she is out.  Lucy joins the crap game. Bobbie and Lucy get into it and Luke tosses Bobbie out of the game. Lucy cozies up to Joe. Lucky is whinging to Mike about the nerve of Edward wanting Foster fixed, and he calls his mom. Laura doesn't like it either. Laura asks to speak to Luke and complains about him letting Lucky face Edward on his own. Mike is talking to Luke about Sonny, when Sonny comes in. Then Bobbie comes in. She finds out about the crap game and invites herself. Luke says he'll stake her but she has to leave without argument when he gives her the nod. Joe flirts with Bobbie and vice-versa in the back room. Mike announces Lucy’s arrival and Bobbie looks like she's swallowed something unpleasant. Joe is intrigued, both by this gorgeous woman and leaves Bobbie. She is then given the nod to leave by Luke and despite her earlier promise, she argues.

3/31/95  Luke checks out Brenda's party seating arrangements with Mike, then banters with Sonny about what he got for Brenda. When Tony and Felicia arrive, Luke shows them to the "Georgie Jones Memorial Table" complete with a small engraved plaque on it. Luke saunters over to Edward's and Lila's table and flirts shamelessly with Lila. During the conversation, Luke manages to slip in how Edward is trying to strong arm Lucky into neutering Foster.  Lila is calmly furious with Edward and demands he include Miguel in the deal.  M.C. Luke makes a toast to Brenda, and then Mae Mae, Ned, and Miguel sing a round of "Happy Birthday." After which, Sonny gets up and makes a touching speech.

4/4/95  Lucy comes to Luke and tells him that her shipment of essence has been stolen. Luke is glad, Lucy is very worried about Deception. Luke asks if she isn't being just a bit melodramatic. She starts explaining when Lucky comes in interupting their conversation and Lucy changes subject very quickly. Lucky and Luke are going to visit Laura and LesLu. They surprise her with an overnight visit and she is ecstatic.

4/5/95  Luke and Lucky oh and ah over Lesley Lu. After Laura puts Lu back down, Laura gets the latest news from PC. Lucky is getting exhausted with his negotiations with Mr. Q about the puppy. While they agree they should be responsible pet owners and get Foster fixed they take umbrage with Edward making that a condition of further negotiations about the puppy. Once Lucky goes off to bed Luke and Laura revel at being alone together. Luke recalls how safe they were in that very same room 14 years before. But Laura doesn't want to get too comfortable in Beechers Corners. She wants to go home, she's missed Luke and Lucky and wants to see her garden come to life. Luke tells her it won't be long and her garden will be there when she returns.
