Rockester's Page Kit Swaps

Scrapbook page kit swaps are lots of fun!  They lend your scrapbook pages  so much variety with so much time efficiency!  I have been hostessing page kit swaps for scrapbookers for over 5 years.  I have never lost a swap that has come into my home. :) If you would like to join my next page kit swap, read the following basic rules. I hostess them almost monthly.

About me....if you are new to swapping....Our 5 years of monthly swaps (60 swaps total) are so successful because I am a responsible, reliable hostess. I send reminders throughout the swap to everyone in each round of 10. I have never lost a swap that has come into my home. With an average of 20-30 gals in each month's swap those 60 past monthly swaps have yielded over 1800 packages. Each of those packages has 10 kits which means I have handled and swapped out over 18,000 kits in the last 5 years. That is a virtual MOUNTAIN of kits! LOL (Wow, now I am scaring myself! LOL) . Join this great tradition of swapping.

Page Kit Swaps- What are they?

Make ten sets the same and get ten different sets back again.

The quality of the workmanship in these swaps is fabulous. Join one of the internet's most reliable swap hostesses for a great swap. Newcomers welcome if you do quality work. Do not sign up if you do not plan to follow through. :) We do keep track! LOL

WHAT TO DO:
Make your choice of page kit within the theme for the month. This usually consists of at least one  mat or  frame for a 4x6 photo and a matching accent (like a border or tag or paper piecing) and matching title for each kit.  Extra accents and matching papers are welcome but not mandatory.  Make a set for each of the ten participants in your round.

Package each page kit set in its own baggie or page protector. Send all ten identical sets to me . I will swap them out and send you back ten different page kit sets. For my ease of swapping and to protect the elements you work so hard on, make SURE you have each kit wrapped in its own baggie or page protector.  We don't want them to snag on others in swap or shipping.  (However, do not tape the baggies into a big bundle with masking tape. That is hard on the baggies as they rip when masking tape is removed by me to distribute the kits.)

Use your choice of embellishments within the monthly swap theme. Feel free to use wire, fiber, buttons, rubber stamping, collage, eyelets, brads, vellum, beads, ribbon, and corrugated paper, tags, archival sb pressed flowers, vellum, paper piecing , penwork, stickers, die cuts, chalks or any other generally accepted textural elements. Be creative, do quality work and get quality work back.

Keep the tradition going.... swap with us....email today. These fill up VERY fast!

Just a note  on SASE and postage....Please send enough!

SASE - I prefer PRIORITY POSTAGE ~~sorry but I have gotten burned the last few months with gals not sending enough postage. Unintentionally of course-- but the gals figure that if it only takes $1.75 first class (under 13 ounces) to get to their creation to me, then it will only take that same amount to come back.... Sorry it doesn't work that way. Often swappers will send bonus sheets of paper or embellish with pop dots, fibers, wire, tags, etc that make things heavier than a simple swap mailing.

I cannot send packages that weigh over 13 ounces by any other method than Priority now. (USPS June 30 regulations) And due to Sept 11, I can no longer just drop these big parcels into drop mailboxes. They come right back to me with pink USPS notes that say to bring them in in person. Which of course means they don't get SENT without the right postage on them to start.

Often then the previous stamp or postage is then NULL and I have to foot the shipping bill. Therefore, I prefer Priority mail only on the SASE.

Please address and stamp you own envelopes for the return. This insures that the address sent to is correct.  If I see that you have used less postage than I feel is average when they come in, I will email you ask you to bring it up to Priority mailing rates  before the shipment out is made.

Save yourself headaches and me too and just send enough priority postage for 2 pounds both ways. Especially the return SASE.

Canadians are the only exceptions to US Priority Mail envelope SASE. They can just send US funds and I will ship swaps back to them using this $ to cover postage and I also fill out the appropriate customs forms for them.

NO METERED MAIL. My postmaster will NOT accept metered mail with a date on it unless it is the EXACT date I send out. It is virtually impossible for me to know what date I am shipping these back so please do NOT send metered mail. I have had to PAY for shipping swaps for gals twice on metered packages because the meter date did not match the calendar date of the shipment. This made the meter stamp VOID. NO METERED MAIL please.

I know this may sound like a lot of rules up front but at least I want everyone to know where it stands on postage BEFORE you sign up and send me a swap.

Email me privately Rockester@magnaspeed.net to join the next monthly  swap. We welcome new swappers if they do quality work and are RELIABLE!  No flakers please. Don't sign up if you are not going to follow through with us.
