Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton started the following lineup: 6-7 So. Michael Moreno, 6-5 Fr. Curt Lewis, 6-9 Jr. Tre King, 5-11 Fr. Wendell Green Jr., and 6-1 Jr. Cooper Robb.  Morehead State University coach Preston Spradlin countered with 6-6 Sr. James Baker, 6-4 Jr. DeVon Cooper, 6-10 Fr. Johni Broome, 6-3 Jr. KJ Hunt, and 6-3 Jr. Skyelar Potter.

 

Morehead State led by 11 mid way through the second half but had to withstand an Eastern Kentucky rally to earn a 67-64 victory and advance to the championship game.  There were five lead changes and seven ties in this game.  Morehead State shot 49% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 13 points off nine Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 41% from the field including nine of 24 beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on five of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 19 Morehead State turnovers. 

 

DeVon Cooper led Morehead State with 25 points including three three point baskets, eight of eight free throws, six rebounds, and four assists.  Johni Broome added 17 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Skyelar Potter recorded nine points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  James Baker chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.

 

Wendell Green Jr. led Eastern Kentucky with 29 points including four three point baskets, three rebounds, and four assists.  Michael Moreno added 14 points including four three point baskets, eight rebounds, and two assists.  Curt Lewis recorded 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Eastern Kentucky University led by 14 early in the second half but had to withstand a furious rally by Tennessee State to earn an 89-84 victory.  Eastern buoyed was buoyed by their free throw shooting (27-28) including 12 of 13 by Wendell Green Jr. The score was tied four times and there were three lead changes in the game.  Eastern Kentucky shot 44.4% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 27 of 28 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 16 Tennessee State turnovers.  Tennessee State shot 53.3% from the field including six of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Tigers connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Eastern  Kentucky turnovers.

 

5-11 Fr.. Wendell Green Jr. led Eastern Kentucky with 23 points including 12 of 13 free throws, five rebounds, and five assists.  6-5 Fr. Curt Lewis added 20 points including five of five free throws, and six rebounds.  Michael Moreno recorded 10 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists.  Tre King chipped in with 10 points and three rebounds.  6-6 Fr. Devontae Blanton added six points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  6-1 Jr. Cooper Robb recorded two points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals.

 

Mark Freeman led Tennessee State with 21 points including two three point baskets, five of six free throws, two rebounds, and five assists.  Shakem Johnson added 19 points19 points and six rebounds.  6-3 So. Eastern Kentucky University defeated SIUE by the score of 78-74 for the first victory over the Cougars at SIUE since January 2011.  There were three lead changes and six ties in this game.  EKU shot 40.3% from the field including eight of 22 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 20 of 24 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 17 SIUE turnovers.  SIUE shot 47.3% from the field including seven of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Cougars connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 15 EKU turnovers.

 

Wendell Green Jr. led a balanced EKU scoring attack with 18 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and two assists.  Tre King added 12 points including eight of 10 free throws, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Curt Lewis recorded 10 points and seven rebounds.  Michael Moreno chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and two assists.  Cooper Robb added 10 points including two three point baskets and two rebounds.  6-7 Fr. Devontae Blanton recorded nine points, two assists, and two steals.

 

Mike Adewunmi led SIUE with 23 points including four three point baskets, three of three free throws, and four rebounds.  6-7 Jr. Sidney Wilson added 14 points, five rebounds, and two assists.  Shamar Wright recorded 11 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Lamar Wright chipped in with 10 points including four of four free throws and four rebounds.  Courtney Carter recorded seven points, six rebounds, and four assists.

Austin Peay University coach Matt Figger started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Terry Taylor, 6-3 So. Jordyn Adams, 6-8 So. Mike Peake, 5-10 So. Carlos Paez, an 6-2 So. Alec Woodard.  Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton countered with 6-7 So. Michael Moreno, 6-1 Jr. Cooper Robb, 6-9 Jr. Tre King, 5-11 Fr. Wendell Green Jr., and 6-0 Sr. Russhard Cruickshank.

 

Austin Peay defeated Eastern Kentucky University by the score of 94-79.  The Governors led by 17 early in the second half but Eastern Kentucky rallied to pull with three but could never catch up and the Governors pulled away late for the final margin.  Austin Peay University shot 53.7% from the field including 12 of 21 from the three point line.  The Governors connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 22 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 43.5% from the field including 13 of 31 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 19 Austin Peay turnovers.

 

Terry Taylor led Austin Peay with 30 points including three three point baskets, 14 rebounds, and four assists.  Jordyn Adams added 14 points including four three point baskets, three rebounds, and eight assists.  Mike Peake recorded 12 points and seven rebounds.  Carlos Paez chipped in with 12 points including two three point baskets, four of four free throws, two rebounds, and four assists.  6-4 Jr. Elton Walker added seven points and eight rebounds.

 

Wendell Green Jr. led Eastern Kentucky University with 25 points including three three point baskets, four of four free throws, two rebounds, nine assists, and two steals.  Cooper Robb added 16 points including four three point baskets, three assists, and two steals.  Michael Moreno recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  Tre King chipped in with nine points and six rebounds despite being limited to 18 minutes before fouling out.
