Madison Central remains undefeated and defeats the number one team in the state Trinity by a score of 78-77 in a bizarre finish. Trinity’s Darryl Hicks hit two free throws to give Trinity a 77-73 lead with 11 seconds on the clock. Madison Central’s Dominique Hawkins connects on two free throws with 5.8 seconds remaining to make the score 77-75. Trinity’s Darryl Hicks misses two free throws with five seconds remaining and Madison Central’s Hunter Allen ties the game with two free throws with 4 seconds remaining on the clock. Trinity loses possession of the ball on the inbounds play with .1 seconds on the clock Trinity is called for a foul on an inbounds play and Quan Taylor hits the last of two attempted free throws to give the Indians a 78-77 victory on an exciting and controversial finish to a great contest.
6-0 Jr. Dominique Hawkins led Madison Central with 33 points. 6-0 Jr. Ken-Jah Bosley added 28 points.
6-6 Sr. Nathan Dieudonne led Trinity with 21 points. 6-1 Sr. Charles Foster, 6-3 Sr. Troy Saxton, and 6-4 Jr. Darryl Hicks added 14, 10, and 10 points respectively.
