Morehead State coach Preston Spradlin started the following lineup: 6-7 So. Londell King, 6-3 So. Djimon Henson, 6-7 Fr. Malek Green, 6-0 Jr. AJ Hicks, and 6-0 So. Jordan Walker.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Sr. Zach Charles, 6-6 So. DeAndre Dishman, 6-9 Jr. Nick Mayo, 5-10 So. DuJuanta Weaver, and 6-2 Fr. JacQuess Hobbs.

 

JacQuess Hobbs went coast-to-coast in the closing seconds to hit the basket that gave Eastern Kentucky University a 75-73 come-from-behind victory over Morehead State.  The score was tied six times and there were eight lead changes in this game.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 45.3% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 19 of 27 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 16 Morehead State turnovers.  Morehead State shot 46% from the field including eight of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 19 of 29 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 14 points off Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 18 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Zach Charles added 15 points and seven rebounds.  Charles was six of six from the field and three of three from the free throw line.  JacQuess Hobbs also scored 15 points including two three point baskets and five assists.  DeAndre Dishman chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds.  6-5 Fr. Peyton Broughton added eight points including two three point baskets.  DuJuanta Weaver recorded six points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

 

Jordan Walker led Morehead State with 16 points including nine of 12 free throws, four assists, and three steals.  AJ Hicks added 15 points including six of seven free throws and four assists.  6-4 Fr. De’Von Cooper recorded 13 points including three three point baskets.  Malek Green chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.

Morehead State coach Greg Todd started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Erin Blaine, 5-10 Sr. Eriel McKee, 6-2 Sr. Brooke Todd, 5-4 Jr. Darianne Seward, and 5-8 Jr. Miranda Crockett.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 5-11 Fr. Bria Bass, 5-11 Jr. Abby Wright, 5-8 Jr. A’Queen Hayes, and 5-8 So. Shay Solomon.

 

Eastern Kentucky University rallied from a nine point first half deficit to take a nine point lead in the second half and held on for a 59-56 victory over Morehead State.  The victory proved to be costly for the Colonels as 6-2 Jr. Madison Pierce went down late in the game with a knee injury.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 37.3% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 50 rebounds, and scored six points off six Morehead State turnovers.  Morehead State shot 31.1% from the field including five of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 11 points off nine Eastern Kentucky University turnovers.

 

Bria Bass came up big for Eastern Kentucky today with 18 points including two three point baskets and 17 rebounds.  Abby Wright added 15 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  A’Queen Hayes recorded nine points, eight rebounds, and five assists.  Shay Solomon chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Madison Wood added five points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots. 

 

Erin Blaine led Morehead State with 18 points including eight of nine free throws.  Eriel McKee added 16 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds.  Darianne Seward recorded eight points, 10 rebounds, and two steals.  Miranda Crockett chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Brooke Todd pulled down six rebounds.

Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-7 So. Taleya Todd, 5-7 Sr. Blaze Pacheco, 5-10 So. Je’Kauri McKeithen, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Vanover, and 5-6 Jr. Madison Barnard.  Bryan Station coach Brian Hall countered with 5-10 Sr. Grace Barczkowski, 5-8 Jr. Kelynn Clay, 6-1 Sr. Curtshonna Cannon, 5-1 Fr. Natoria Godoy, and 5-4 Sr. Kyrah Hardin.

 

Bryan Station raced out to a 30-19 lead early in the third quarter but Madison Central rallied for a 53-47 as the Indians were able to spread the floor and get a couple of easy baskets in the final minutes to earn the victory.  There were five lead changes and seven ties in this game.  Madison Central shot 38.2% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on eight of 16 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 34.5% from the field including four of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Defenders connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Je’Kauri McKeithen led Madison Central with 19 points and 11 rebounds.  Bailey Vanover added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.  Taleya Todd chipped in with 10 points.  5-6 Fr. Lacie Parks added six points on two three point baskets, three assists, and two steals.

Scott County struggled tonight but finally managed to defeat Woodford County by a score of 60-56.  Scott County led Woodford County 25-11 after the first quarter but Woodford County outscored the Cardinals 45-35 the rest of the game..  Scott County shot 45.1% from the field including seven of 22 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on seven of 16 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored nine points off 18 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 46.5% from the field including seven of 18 from beyond the arc.  Thje Yellowjackets connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Scott County turnovers.

 

Diablo Stewart led Scott County with 13 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and three assists.  Bryce Long led 11 points and five rebounds.  Glenn Covington also scored 11 points.  Cooper Robb chipped in with 10 points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Michael Moreno recorded six points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots.
